⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

It’s HOT HOT HOT!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

Have weighed myself this morning to see if still on track this week and am horrified and disgusted to see I’ve put ON 1.5lb since Wed. I’ve been tracking and doing at least 30mins of walking or à run every day. What am I doing wrong??? Feeling gutted and disgusted with myself.

Does anyone else have thyroid issues (mine has been removed) and successfully lost weight that can share their tips?

I do need to do a food shop today so will write a list and stick to it religiously in the shop.

socks1107 · 09/08/2025 08:28

Good morning everyone, very quickly and ill read and catch up later.
i made the goal I set in January this morning!!! 2.5 stone off 🎉.

Will set myself the next goaL for late September but wow what a feeling to have done it. Totally changed my relationship with food and drink so hopefully it’s for the long term. This thread has been my motivation so thank you

Raindancer411 · 09/08/2025 08:30

Hi all, first time checking in for a whole as it was a busy end of July with kids and school things and then a weeks holiday!! I have put on 1.4lbs, which although I could kick myself for, but it’s not a lot in the scheme of what I ate!! I had cream teas, a roast, crisps and biscuits lol I did eat a lot of salads too though, so think that kept it down a bit 😂

I am now back on my not eating from 6pm ish until 10am and less biscuits again.

You’d need to have eaten 5250 calories PLUS your maintenance calories to have gained 1.5lbs of genuine fat. It’ll be water weight!

We can hold onto water for any number of reasons. Don’t let this throw you off.

PatienceOfEngels · 09/08/2025 09:40

Bobbing along here. Feel like I've managed to stick to my home-made meals, some yoga (not every day) but have managed to start the day right (5 minute kitchen workout, journalling and 2 minutes meditation before I touch my phone).

Struggling with no-snacking (handful of nuts, chunks of cheese, sweets creeping in) and portion size at dinner is often too big. Also not getting my steps in.

Pretty sure my weight will not have gone down when I step on the scales tomorrow. Feeling heavy and tired.

BUT I still have 1 more week of school holiday left so should make the most of it, even though it's going to be hot and I hate the heat.

Plan for today:
-already done my morning Ms, had breakfast (egg and toast)and coffee, and done 25 minutes yoga.
-get outside to do a little bit of gardening before it gets too hot.
-lunch - butterbean casserole out of freezer
-dinner - beef rendang with green beans and rice.
-drink lots of water

This afternoon - either family film OR some board games with kids before I let them game.
Some reading for me, maybe outside if I set up the parasol/chairs in the garden.

Think it would help me to write a plan for the week with activities, chores and food so I can have something to work with.

Well done to everyone weighing in and having losses (that's very impressive @socks1107 !) and to everyone else, am right here with you! love reading what everyone else is up to.

So my weight is still stuck and has been since the start of the month.
I’ve only lost 3kg so far so it’s not like I am far into this. Am I just not eating enough, I don’t really want to eat anymore. I’m not hungry for more food particularly.
Im am exercising as much as I can walks, exercise bike, videos.
Because of the exercise I do have ‘spare calories’ but I don’t eat them. I am more fit and stuff is looser but I have nearly 20kg to lose so need them to get going.

It’s so frustrating when this happens. I would suggest, having gone through the same-

really check that you are being accurate and how you’re recording your calories. Think of things like milk in coffee and so on.

Find one or two foods that are very high volume at low calorie that you can help yourself to an endless quantity of. For me that’s black coffee, sparkling water, apples, a low cal vegetable soup or cabbage soup.

Lots of water

Try a different eating pattern for example 5.2 or low-carb for a day or a week

PreetyinPurple · 09/08/2025 10:02

I’m not too strict on the recording because I’m often 600 calories spare after all the exercise. It’s probably just milk that I am off with anyway.
Ive done this before and I do remember when I had lost a few stone I had to up my calories to get things going again.

Determinedloser · 09/08/2025 10:05

I’d honestly recalculate your TDEE and deficit.

Fellsbells · 09/08/2025 10:18

@Jecstar don’t throw in the towel. It’ll absolutely be water/food weight. Stay consistent and over the weeks and months it will make a difference.

Fellsbells · 09/08/2025 10:21

Doing a WOS today.

SW 10st 2 (Spring 2025)
CW 9st 10
GW 9st 7

I did Park Run this morning so I’m feeling pretty good about the weekend so far. Hopefully food doesn’t derail me!

Fantastic!

I am doing couch to 5k just now and hoping by next week I’ll be ready for a park run. Everyone speaks so highly of them.

PatienceOfEngels · 09/08/2025 10:44

@PreetyinPurple what type of exercise are you doing in the evenings? I would avoid too much cardio/high stress exercise and keep it to gentler stuff like yoga and walking. Make sure your body comes to rest before sleep

frostedshreddie · 09/08/2025 10:55

Well done everyone, lots of awesome posts and progress on here 😃

I've had a few days off with birthday celebrations 😋
Did do a low impact resistance workout this morning so back on it 👍🏻 except there is still some leftover birthday cake looking at me for later 😄
So half and half!! Still hoping to stay in the 9s for WOW!

PreetyinPurple · 09/08/2025 12:24

@patienceofengelsexercise bike or dvd. It’s really the best interrupted time I have to do anything. I walk in the mornings.

@determinedloserI was on 1492 but I’ve upped my exercise into the calculator as I am doing so much. So do I go down or up?

TheWayTheLightFalls · 09/08/2025 12:42

preety I wouldn't count your exercise calories, personally. Wouldn't factor them in to TDEE.

Didn't get on with PR at all despite a good go with C25K. Always impressed by those that manage it @Fellsbells !

PreetyinPurple · 09/08/2025 12:53

I mean that I changed the setting on TTDE from occasional exercise to 5 days a week so it changed the calories. I don’t eat the calories I gain on my Fitbit into MyFitnessPal. I just follow the guidance ones.

Determinedloser · 09/08/2025 13:05

I personally don’t count exercise calories in my TDEE (so tell it I’m sedentary) and also don’t eat back the calories my garmin tells me I’ve burned. I just take them as a bonus deficit as my deficit is quite narrow anyway.

PreetyinPurple · 09/08/2025 13:10

That’s what I must have put in originally, as it’s giving me the number I am following now for mild weight loss

Determinedloser · 09/08/2025 14:02

I would start tracking religiously because if you’re within your calories you really should lose weight.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 09/08/2025 17:53

Wow, I go out for the day and lots of posts! Welcome @BornInBradford and amazing to hit target @socks1107 Star

I ended up doing 19hrs and 15 minute fast before really needing to eat. I've not eaten very well today, but it hasn't been awful either and we've managed around 9 000 steps so fairly decent bearing in mind we were sat on the train for an hour or so each way.

Tomorrow will be housework and shopping and all those boring things, but might do another 5 mile walk on Monday before the heatwave takes hold too much.

Do you fast at all @PreetyinPurple ? Maybe try that to see if it helps so some of the fat burning gets activated.

@Jecstar just keep going and weigh again in a day or 2. I have an underactive thyroid and found intermittent fasting works for me, alongside making better choices rather than just reaching for sugar/carbs to get me through each day.

Hi i have under active thyroid am on 100mg thyroxine to control my thyroid. Ive just recently started to loose weight thankyou to this group. And thankyou to @TheRealHousewife. Heavy support.
Count your calories try to have under 1500 to loose weight.
Cut out junk or limit your junk. Decrease your portion size. You can get what ever you like as long as you count your calories and keep to smll portion.
Exercise is crucial and must. I go gym and if I can't I have spin bike at home.
Over these summer holidays I won't lie ive had no focus on my eating did plenty of walking to make sure am getting some workout done. But every day I start new to get my self on track. But thats what hapo3ns over children long holiday's.
On plus side my first eldest is going to high school have that worry at the same time. Have alot taking place.
But your weight will start falling this group is a big help and very supportive when I had first joined my weight is not dropping at all. But with so many positive feedback I have changed my mind set how I eat and how I think. But thos summer holidays it has been hard but like I said every day I do start again. Try to be positive to myself.

PatienceOfEngels · 10/08/2025 08:21

Weighing in today at 77.3kg so +0.5kg

I've been up and down between 76.5 and 77.5 this week. Super frustrating!

reflections on last week and week ahead.

✅Homemade meals with minimal UPF (exceptions, one slice of bread for breakfast everyday and one evening meal was tinned soup - with lots of fresh veg added - with supermarket part-baked bread)
✅Regular yoga (4x sessions the last week)
✅Snacks mostly whole/minimally processed (fruit, unsalted nuts, cheese)
✅Started every day with 3Ms - Movement (5 minute kitchen workout while kettle boils), Mind (Journal while drinking coffee) and Meditation (2 minutes breathing exercises). The last 2 are done outside. I do his before I look at my phone.
✅Sticking with no calories in drinks apart from milk in my breakfast coffee. No soft drinks/booze

⏭I need to be more mindful of portion size, especially carbs with main meal.
⏭Be more consistent with no eating after dinner. I managed this on maybe 3 nights out of 7.
⏭Get walking! Haven't met my steps goals this week and haven't been for a walk.
⏭Aim for yoga everyday this week (still on school holidays so totoally achievable)
⏭No more nuts and cheese snacks (I'm not hungry!) or 'just a few' licorice all sorts. Again.....I'm not hungry!

Going to make a food plan for the week.
Some dinner options: lasagne with broccoli on the side, chicken korma or bhuna (have both in the freezer), chicken salad wraps, burgers, and pasta salad with eggs/bacon for hot days (going to be 30+ a few days this week so need some meals which don't heat the kitchen up too much).

Have no more lunch portions of anything in the freezer so going to try and have salads - have tuna, eggs, halloumi at home. might make some more Greek flatbreads tomorrow, just need to be controlled and not eat 3 in one go!

Alwayslearning25 · 10/08/2025 09:09

Back from holiday, where we've been eating late, eating ice-creams, no intermittent fasting, no structured excersice (walking loads). Unsurprisingly I've put on weight. Now my heaviest at 74.4kg. my uniform won't fit tomorrow. It's been tight all year, but I've been hoping to loose weight. There's bigger uniform at work I'll have to collect.

Eating breakfast of bran flakes, fruit and walnuts.

Soitis83 · 10/08/2025 19:21

Late to the game. Can I join please? I've been actively trying to lose weight for a week now, somehow lost 4 pounds already. I was 12 stone 7, now I'm 12 stone 3. Exercise in the morning (around my little ones) and I'm sticking to 1,400 calories a day of a vegan wholefood diet. No refined sugar, no prosessed foods and minimal carbs.
Any tips for me would be amazing! I do have a tip for those chocolate loving women who are struggling, sweet freedom do an almost guilt free chocolate spread (made of fruit!) and it's DELICIOUS. Helps curb my sweet tooth without feeling guilty
