Following on from ☀️LOSE IT!☀️ Juicy July 2025☀️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

It’s HOT HOT HOT!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

@biscuitcat physically I helps me with strength in my arms/chest/core but also with relaxing stressed muscles. I've had an overstressed pelvic floor last year and some poses/sequences are really helpful for that.

The main benefit for me is mentally though. If I'm doing regular yoga I just feel more Zena and able to deal with the frustrations of everyday life. Helps me to switch off from the online world as well.

It certainly has never helped me lose weight but as part of my overall well-being it makes me feel better about myself and life, which in turn means I make better choices.

Bread-wise unfortunately I live outside the UK so the same brands not around. I do hate most British supermarket bread though. It more often has sugar in it than bread here and seem to be more processed so that's probably why I felt so rubbish last week (despite bring my own wholemeal/rye bread with me for breakfasts from the Netherlands!).

Bikechic · 03/08/2025 18:43

Hi. Joining again after long pause. I keep trying and failing, but this time it feels like I mean it. I've been logging on mfp and dropped 3lb since last week. I would like to get to 11st 7lb by end of aug.
Thanks for continuing the threads @TheRealHousewife

Fellsbells · 03/08/2025 22:28

Reasonable day. Ate a few things I shouldn’t, but went for a run so still in a deficit. Looking forward to hormones balancing out so the water weight hopefully goes.

FiveShelties · 03/08/2025 22:49

I would love to join you all and sort myself out before my birthday at the end of August.

I am so cross with myself as we returned from a five week holiday at the end of June and now five weeks later I am heavier than I was after the holiday. So stupid and sadly only myself to blame.

I am 10st 8.4lbs and would love to lose a stone, but first target is to get back under 10st. I am going to count calories every day on Nutracheck and stop drinking wine which usually seems to lead to supper!😁

Determinedloser · 03/08/2025 22:59

Good luck everyone!

My first goal is 10 stone too @FiveShelties. I have a couple more pounds than you to lose though to get there.

Skyglimmer · 04/08/2025 07:11

Weighed myself for the first time in a few months and I have put on 3.1kg. I was previously 4kg away from my goal weight. Going to get back to calorie counting today and some exercise this week. I won't be able to get my usual 5 days of exercise in due to the school holidays and work etc. My husband and I like to use the school holidays as a rest as well and not set the alarm before the kids as much.

frostedshreddie · 04/08/2025 11:11

That sounds like a good plan @PatienceOfEngels

Calories yesterday: 1350

Today I have done 20 min Heather Robertson low impact cardio - my kids love to join in every morning 😆
Breaking my fast about 1pm, having friends over so will be cream cheese bagel and a snack or two, the planning on sweet chilli noodles with paneer for dinner.

Determinedloser · 04/08/2025 11:24

Slight gain this morning on my unofficial weigh but I know I am in a deficit so I am going to stick with it and hopefully come WOW it’ll be gone. My period did start yesterday so putting it down to that.

Blinkingbother · 04/08/2025 11:34

Hello! Would love to join you. Too scared to stand on the scales but I can’t get into most of my trousers so there’s a definite issue (been wearing leggings & loose dresses for a while….). I’ve cut out all the junk and booze (bar the odd small homemade treat) and am trying to run 5k every day…. don't worry, I run very very slowly so I’m unlikely to do myself damage….its prob the equivalent of most people’s slow jog! Aware I prob need to incorporate some weights/strengthening exercises but a bit lost where to start. Inspired by some of the successes I’m reading on here.

frostedshreddie · 04/08/2025 11:41

Welcome @Blinkingbother, 5K a day is impressive at any speed!!

Fellsbells · 04/08/2025 13:19

Happy Windy Monday.
Welcome @Blinkingbother good luck with your plan.

weight slightly down this morning thank goodness, hoping that will continue this week. I want to ‘own’ 9st 8 and not just see it occasionally.

non scales win this morning was having to swap belts because even on the smallest size it’s now too big.

biscuitcat · 04/08/2025 13:21

Welcome @Blinkingbother! I agree that 5k even at a slow jog is fab - more than I can manage!

Regarding not getting on the scales - I did similar in not taking a ‘before’ pic in my undies as I thought it was just too hideous. Now I’ve lost enough that I would see a difference I really regret that as it’s harder to see progress - so if you can bear it, stepping on (even if you don’t share it here!) might be handy in the coming weeks so you can see how far you’ll come.

@PatienceOfEngels thank you for that - I think that’s something I should try to incorporate as it sounds like it does an awful lot of good.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 04/08/2025 20:26

Hi all, welcome to newbies...

I've eaten badly this afternoon, so while I've done my 8 hour window, I'm sure there were far too many calories but trying to be kind to myself, so I wouldn't slag off one of you or a friend if they had a blip, so not going to be hard on myself either. Just tomorrow is a new day!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 04/08/2025 20:37

That’s the best attitude @BlueOysterCultGroupie .

We’re still on holiday. Had a first meal at 11am or so today, and kitchen closed at 18.30. I’m not especially restricting what I am eating during that time, and also having a fair few diet drinks as my usual decaf coffee is harder to come by. Feeling ok so far.

Fellsbells · 04/08/2025 21:04

I did some baking today.
It was probably a mistake!

Determinedloser · 05/08/2025 07:06

Can any Happy Scale pros assist me please? I weighed in at 11 stone exactly last Wednesday and have been weighing daily. Today I’ve gone up to 10 stone 13.6 but on my little predictions bit it’s telling me I’m losing 1.3 a week. Howcome? Clearly I’m not! I’ve lost a few oz.

Thanks!

Not an expert but Happy Scale is assessing trends over time - by its calculation that is your rate of loss. Keep inputting daily and it will update.

socks1107 · 05/08/2025 08:16

It looks at tends and plots your loss against that, so although you’ve gone up on the scale the trend says you’ve gone down

PatienceOfEngels · 05/08/2025 08:52

Yesterday didn't work out how I planned 100%

I made a butter bean dish I'd seen on social media (was delicious) and greek flatbreads (have made these before for a party but not sure how they'll keep) but got my timings wrong and ended up eating too many flatbread while I waited for the beans to be done. And then went to a wedding reception in the evening with a sit down meal - incredible food but was eating really late (7-9pm) compared to my usual dinner time (5-6pm). Stuck to water and tea though. Got my yoga in beforehand. Did my 3Ms before breakfast.

Today is definitely a rest day! Have started it off right. Yoga later. Going to get the house tidied today.

Food plan:
-boiled egg and rye toast with butter, coffee with milk
-bowl of cherries and an apple
-butter bean coconut casserole with flatbread and humous
-black bean and beef burritos with lettuce and cheese

Interesting study reported on in the guardian yesterday:

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2025/aug/04/home-cooking-and-minimally-processed-foods-best-for-weight-loss-upf-study-finds

I'm definitely trying to reduce my UPF! (Today's menu had 3x UPF - 1 slice rye toast, dollop of humous with lunch, and wrap this evening)

Have a good day everyone!

ThrivingIn2025ing · 05/08/2025 08:55

Hi everyone, I hope I’m not too late to join this thread? I just got back from holiday yesterday. Eating out a lot and struggling to do any real exercise. I feel really tired and yuck right now, I should be feeling refreshed!
So I’m looking to do a month of better eating, good exercise and plenty of sleep. Would love to return to work in September glowing (that’s the dream anyway).

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 05/08/2025 11:13

Hi all, back on the wagon as they say and hoping for a more in control day. Not eaten my feelings like that in a fortnight, so at least it's not daily.

I did see the headline this morning @PatienceOfEngels

Welcome @ThrivingIn2025ing - never too late.

Plan for the day is to keep perspective and food in moderation. Got some really juicy pineapple and some berries too.

Determinedloser · 05/08/2025 16:25

Thanks @socks1107 and @TheWayTheLightFalls! Hopefully it is correct and I do manage to lose this week.

NothingTraLaLa · 05/08/2025 17:18

I’ve been really lax at posting on these threads, which is part of a general trend of me taking my eye off the weight-loss ball.

Anyway, this morning I weighed the heaviest I have in 2 years, which is 10lbs heavier than I was this time last year. The weight has been creeping back on and I need to take proper action.

I think my hormones are increasingly against me as my periods are all over the place, but I shouldn’t use that as an excuse because I have been eating too many snacks and puddings and have not been keeping active enough.

I’m using today’s weight as my starting point - it’s an easy number to remember. I expect a couple of pounds will come off fairly quickly due to water weight which ought to give me a boost.

SW 125lbs
TW 120 lbs (with stretch targets of 115lbs and 112 lbs, but I think I need something less remote to aim for first)

PreetyinPurple · 05/08/2025 17:56

So I went to buy a bra today. Nothing like seeing yourself in a changing room mirror like that to see how fat you are.
Not losing anything at the moment

socks1107 · 05/08/2025 18:29

Another good week for me, but my digestion is shocking and I’m contemplating a laxative tonight! I’m a touch up on the scales but think it’s obvious why!
