Following on from ☀️LOSE IT!☀️Joyful June 2025☀️

OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Summers arrived!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs. Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

GW: 85kg (first goal)

TheRealHousewife · 24/07/2025 14:48

Hello Everyone

Thank you for the well wishes. It’s now suggested it’s cardiac in nature rather than stroke. Awaiting further tests 🤞

It’s great to see so many of you making solid progress. For me and like many of you, It’s a journey rather than a destination.

❤️

@TheRealHousewifethat sounds so very stressful. I hope the tests are swift.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 25/07/2025 07:34

Sorry to read of your continuing health issues @TheRealHousewife I hope you don’t have to wait too long for your tests.

i have just asked chat gpt to write me a strength programme. Thinking I might try something a bit more simple for a few weeks before I go back to my Les mills strength classes given this week was a bit disastrous. Build back up again slowly.

had a Friday weigh in. I seem to have put 2lbs on since I returned from holiday which isn’t great. I need to get a grip on snacking. I have lots of social stuff in August so if I don’t take action now I’m be on the September thread complaining I’m heavier than when I started the year! I’m a big believer that slow and steady wins the race, but going into reverse doesn’t help…

Fellsbells · 25/07/2025 08:18

@TheRealHousewife sorry to hear that. Hopefully the test results are quick and offer good news. 🌺

Finally my IBS has settled down which has had a positive impact on what I feel like and I’ve got the energy to exercise again. I can’t lie, the 7lbs loss in a week is a significant silver lining!

PreetyinPurple · 25/07/2025 08:57

Another loss

SW: 89kg
CW: 85.8kg
GW: 85kg

3.2kg is half a stone and I’m close to my first goal. I know after 2 days of loss it will jump back up tomorrow.

2 summers ago I picked up a top when I was shopping with DD I assumed I would fit (I was in denial about my weight) and I know I still won’t fit it. I need to get down to around 80kg before I start trying things on. I was 68kg 5 years ago, long way to go….

TealSloth · 26/07/2025 05:57

@TheRealHousewife hope your well. And hope your keeping strong in the difficult times and I hope they get bottom of the problem. Good luck for the test results.

This week has been up and down eating has been awful out of control. Need some sort of deciding back into my eating. I think it was due to having alot going on. But il get back on to of it again.
This week was around work pattern. Children and home. Totally put myself last. This weekend I really need to pull myself together.
Need to remember my goal. And the rest will come along.

LemonDrizzle23 · 26/07/2025 12:36

Well I had to laugh. I blocked out an hour yesterday morning before a play date, for DS and I to do a fun workout together. Instead during that time, we ended up driving to his summer camp to collect the lunchbox that he had abandoned there the previous day, and then heading to the supermarket to pick up extra pizza for the play date, as my carefully arranged Ocado order turned up missing it.

The universe always seems to test my health and fitness journey during the school
holidays!! Will aim to do better today…

This is how my school holidays go too lemon. I am just going with skipping breakfast and hoping for the best at the mo. It's been ok so far but we are away from the coming week and I expect it will test me.

HazelNotHungryLC · 26/07/2025 14:52

@LemonDrizzle23 it's so frustrating when nothing goes to plan! It sounds like you didn't fall head first into chocolate or anything else like that though!

This week has been good for me! I have stuck to keto, been logging everything and I'm down 3.1lbs so far since Monday! I know it's water weight and the loss will slow down, but it's so motivating!

socks1107 · 26/07/2025 14:55

@TheRealHousewife hope you get some answers soon and feel better.

i have lost all my holiday weight, 4lbs on in a week and 4lbs off in a week. I’m pleased so onto the next stone now and I’ll be a healthy BMI.
the goal is to be 10lbs by a holiday at the end of September and the last 4 by my daughters graduation in November. All feels achievable and sensible

LemonDrizzle23 · 26/07/2025 18:16

@TheWayTheLightFalls and @HazelNotHungryLCthankfully I didn’t fall face first into chocolate! I think tightening up the diet has to be the way to go, as I just can’t guarantee the same levels of activity as normal. Made use of DH being around today and got out and did my usual walking route today. Will definitely get a good walk in tomorrow as well.

biscuitcat · 26/07/2025 19:27

That sounds really stressful @TheRealHousewife, but hopefully they’ll soon figure it out and you’ll be able to make a solid plan.

My oldest had his preschool graduation today which was just before the village fete so we ended up having pizza for dinner there rather than the somewhat healthier dinner I’d initially planned! Luckily I’d had a small breakfast and lunch so my best guess has me still within calories today - but I think this week will be a small loss as there’s been lots of things like that going on. A bit annoying, but actually probably better for long term sustainability that I don’t worry about enjoying nice events and in the long run a week is nothing.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 26/07/2025 20:44

Hi all, had my week's holiday, so ready to get back on the wagon tomorrow.
I do 16:8` but still manage to fit 3 meals a day in Blush Tomorrow will be 13:9 to ease back in:

Chia/yogurt with some nuts/berries
Jacket with cheese and ham hock
BBQ chicken, coleslaw, green salad, new potatoes

Will catch up with all the posts I've missed...

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 26/07/2025 20:47

Hope you get some answers @TheRealHousewife

Fellsbells · 26/07/2025 20:54

Back to eating normally now but still eating within calories.

B- yoghurt, chia seeds and flax
L- chicken and feta chick pea salad. Banana bread
D- home made pizza

16k steps and might try and do a little workout before bed.

24HoursFromTulseHill · 27/07/2025 07:01

Hi,
I'm late to the month but can I join?

Starting weight of 70.8kg and at 5'1" that makes me overweight. I've struggled to get back into regular exercise routine after my 3 year old DS and comfort eat.

I'd be happy to get to 65kg, even though my healthy BMI weight is a bit lower at 62kg. When I've got down to 62kg before it's been through obsessive behaviour that veers into disordered eating so I'm keen to stick with habits that keep a healthy mindset around food & exercise.

I've been doing the Joe Wicks beginers HIIT for a couple of weeks to increase my muscle & fitness. I aim for 3 sessions a week minimum but if I can fit in 4 or 5 that's great. I get it free with my work YuLife app.

Diet at the moment is cutting out the comfort snacks - I generally eat well aside from this (no alcholo, no takeaways) but I'll see where cutting out the chocolate snacks and increasing my regular exercise gets me and then move on to calorise counting & portion sizes.

Current weight is 69.9kg so slow but sustainable progress.

Soph8910 · 27/07/2025 12:46

Hi everyone. I’d love to join you all please.

I’ve got two little ones (two under 2) and felt very sorry for myself yesterday when I bought some new gym leggings and saw my reflection in the changing room mirror. I know they’re horrendous even when in good shape but I didn’t recognise myself. For those who aren’t familiar with “getting your pink back”, flamingos lose their beautiful pink colour when raising their young and it gradually returns as their young grow up. I’m hoping losing weight will be the first big step to getting my ‘pink’ back.

I’m currently about 80KG. I gained about 25KG since the start of my first pregnancy so I’ve got a bit of a long road ahead of me. Having said that, my body shape has changed so much with pregnancy and motherhood that I no longer wish to be as slim as I once was. I had to exercise a lot and eat very well consistently to stay around 55KG - and I like chips too much for that! I’ll be happy being in the healthy BMI range initially so my first target is 64.5kg or about 10st2lbs. I will see how I look and feel at this weight and set myself a new target only when I meet the first one.

Good luck everyone.

Welcome! I really recommend the (free) HappyScale app for tracking, it breaks things down into reachable smaller goals with estimated dates etc. Really helped me.

I've been there, re kids - I had twins after a singleton and my weight soared. I only really got back towards healthier habits once they were two. Lack of sleep, stress, no time for myself, nursery bugs, coping with work... argh. It does get easier.

PreetyinPurple · 27/07/2025 14:23

I’ve downloaded that app. Always depressing to see the words obese!
i like the smaller goals thing.

Just installed it and am loving this app already! It doesn’t feel quite so daunting a prospect to lose 20KG+ now. Thank you.

Hello to people joining! We start a new thread every month, so keep an eye out over the next few days for the link to the August thread, as we will all move over.

Happy Scale is such a good app, but yes it calls a spade a spade. I am looking forward to only being overweight, rather than obese 🙄

Got out for my walk today while DH and DS went to buy paint. A few more busy days and then DS goes to stay with cousins for a few days. So I will aim to get in some good long walks, and pilates and lie-ins and all sorts of good things for a few days!

Hi to newbies 👋🏻
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoyed the weekend

I have done a couple of good workouts this weekend but made few bad food choices. I seem to only be ever to focus fully on one or the other!!
Still completing 16:8 most days though.
I started July at 10 st 1.8 was hoping to be well into the 9s by now. Let's see what Wednesday brings if I can hone in on the next couple of days ✨

Alwayslearning25 · 28/07/2025 06:11

Well, I keep putting on weight every time I check. I have started an excersice lower body strength 4 week challenge and eaten more cake than normal, so maybe I'm gaining some muscle weight. But we have no cake and biscuits in the house so today should be better... but then we're on holiday.

I have a question about intermittent fasting. I normally do 14 from 6pm until 8am, by having an early dinner and taking breakfast with me to eat just before working. I built this up from 10 hours and it's not difficult. I've tried a later breakfast because I'm not massively hungry BUT I do find myself being hangry..so can't start work without it. Does anyone else do this.
