⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

It’s HOT HOT HOT!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

Yesterday I had a family BBQ and ate all day. I normally weigh myself daily, but I'll wait until Wednesday, some time to recover. This morning, before eating anything, but after a coffee with one sugar I went for my 3rd c25k and it felt the best. But, I could feel it in my knee. I tried to run smoother so I wasn't pounding the floor but I could only do what I felt my legs needed to do if I went faster and I don't have that fitness yet. So I know if I carry on running for a few weeks, it will feel much better. I have not done that in about 10 years (run more than a few times without quitting) but I know it would be a great benifit if I did.

I’m on week 7 and loving it!! I cannot believe I can run for over 20 minutes without stopping. I’ve been advised to try and strengthen my glutes etc to help with knee pain so could be helpful for you too.

Tbh it’s barely bothering me now I’ve just kept with it.

dayslikethese1 · 25/08/2025 07:15

My intake has been a little high over the wknd but should level out now and I did do some walking at least. Next week's weigh-in might be a maintain rather than a loss next week but I'm OK with that.

Alwayslearning25 · 25/08/2025 07:45

Thanks, I was given some lower leg excersises for knee strength as I have realised in my 30s I'm hypermobile.

Alwayslearning25 · 25/08/2025 07:47

Not just glutes but resistance bands round my knees when doing mini squats, focusing on pushing my knee apart, keeping them in line. And an excersice called clam shell.

Alwayslearning25 · 25/08/2025 07:47

Also, when I used to run, I got hip pain to begin with but after a few weeks it went

frostedshreddie · 25/08/2025 08:37

Good morning 🌅
Hope everyone is having a lovely BH weekend!
I did well yesterday except did randomly snack on chocolate in the evening which is unlike me, usually once dinner is done I'm signed off until the next day!

Today I have completed 15 mins leg stretch, and that's all I was going to do but them my kids saw a K-pop demon dance workout they wanted to do so we did a bit of that which was as fun, even though I am so sick of that song!!!

Off to a BBQ today so will focus on eating lots of salad alongside my main food! :)

PatienceOfEngels · 25/08/2025 08:58

Aargh - no bank holiday here but unexpectedly home as DC2 was to and from the bathroom all night with a stomach bug. So they are home, I've had to set cover online for all my classes in first lesson back for some of them, and worst of all we have a scheduled power cut today for maintenance so TV and wifi will be out.
Still, am under 76kg for first time in a while!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 25/08/2025 09:03

Argh, I'm sorry @PatienceOfEngels .

OK here. Closed kitchen at around 6pm yesterday and trying to stick to no-cal drinks, coffee here until 11am. I was up a bit over the weekend after a theme park trip, but the eleventy million steps a day and pushing 30kg of pram + children up a hill probably helped things! Back to 74.4kg again. Still trying to drop gradually because I'm between sizes 12 and 14 and it's a bit annoying.

Jecstar · 25/08/2025 09:06

@Determinedloser i weigh everyday, although I don’t track on an app and get fluctuations like that.

Currently 1.5lbs up from
last weigh day but I really can’t see how I would have overindulged that much. Had a night out on Sat eve so hoping it’s that
just working its way out of
my system but we will find out on a few days time.

FiveShelties · 25/08/2025 11:04

SW 10st 8.4lbs 4th August
10st 7.2lbs 11th August
10st 5.2lbs 18th August
10st 5lbs 25th August

I have lost the magnificent amount of 0.2lbs this week! 3.4lbs down over three weeks - not exactly setting the world on fire but better than 3.4lbs on.

I will be 69 on Wednesday, no idea how that happened I sure I was only 40 around 10 years ago. We are having four days away so I am sure that will not help the weight loss. I think I should start seriously next Monday 1st September.

Have a fantastic week everyone😁

WearyAuldWumman · 25/08/2025 23:42

I am now 14st 4lbs, so still a pound above my weight when I went on holiday.

Did a leg workout today and a lat workout. (Used the SPARC to warm up.)

I started a pilates class at the gym last week. This week the teacher had us doing easy press-ups - the kind where you're on your knees.

I never thought that I would manage it, but I did! Yeehah!

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 26/08/2025 18:38

Well done @WearyAuldWumman isn't it frustrating how quickly it goes on and how slowly it comes off!

Happy birthday for tomorrow @FiveShelties

Food today was fairly in control and I've mad a pasta salad thing for tomorrow/Thursday and Friday's lunch so I don't have to think about it, all under my 500 calorie target.

FiveShelties · 27/08/2025 06:06

@BlueOysterCultGroupie many thanks, I cannot believe how quickly these birthdays are coming around. I never thought I would be 69😂

TheWayTheLightFalls · 27/08/2025 06:09

Happy birthday @FiveShelties ! Have a lovely time away.

WoW is 74.5 so maintaining OK. Would like to gradually lose a little more but it isn’t happening at the moment!

PatienceOfEngels · 27/08/2025 07:29

Muddled through my first football training in Dutch - hard work! But I have been so stressed and anxious about it my appetite has dropped and I have actually lost more weight this last week than I did the whole 2 months before. usually when I'm stressed I just eat. Silver lining to a year of training 😂

I am 0.7kg down on last Wednesday to 75.3kg. 🎉

DC2 still off sick. Couldn't keep anything down for 36 hours. Now able to drink and eat a little but weak/tired and had a temperature yesterday. means I haven't had any of my expected time to myself which I'm really struggling with 😓

Made a big chicken casserole yesterday (the Hairy Dieter's one) and double dup the recipe to make 4 meals for the freezer (one of them needs chicken adding as it's just sauce). Going to use of the rest of the chicken thighs (bought 2.5kg at wholesaler as so much cheaper) with a big batch of Paprika Chicken (we have a tonne of peppers in the fridge to use).

Managing to stop snacking only because we have nothing in the house! Had homemade banana bread to use up a very soft banana.

Haven't been doing a lot of exercise but have mostly kept up my 5 minute kitchen workout (missed it today). Have done yoga stretches to ease my stressed hips/pelvic floor but haven't managed any videos. Steps are well below what they should be. Did do 8km on my bike yesterday taking DC1 to and from a medical appointment, and give an hour long football training yesterday (but I was not the most active trainer!).

Not the best start to the new school year. I really want a chance to catch my breath. Luckily the lower classes are out on trips next week and I'm not going so I'll have some extra time to get my shit together.

Well done @WearyAuldWumman ! I've been doing wall push ups the last few weeks and tried a knee push up this week. Harder but I could manage 5! Need to pad my knees though.

Happy Birthday @FiveShelties 🎉

I used to love running @Determinedloser @Alwayslearning25 . Ran for 20 years from late 20s to late 30s and used to do 10ks and an annual 15k in my city but the pandemic just killed it for me (immense stress with 2 SEN kids at home and schools closed). Then I turned 40 and my body started to collapse from lack of use followed by pelvic floor issues a few years ago so fear that running is no longer for me. Yoga and walking are kinder on my body.

Alwayslearning25 · 27/08/2025 07:31

Wow 74kg
Goal 65kg
August was not a good month for me weight less wise. Gained a lot on holiday, then down and up since. In September I'll have a better plan

Determinedloser · 27/08/2025 07:43

Morning all.

0.6lb off for me this week. Annoyingly had yesterday or Monday been the official weigh day it would have been more.

SW on 31/07 11 stone
CW 10 stone 10.6

Will catch up with the thread shortly x

frostedshreddie · 27/08/2025 07:44

I'm up 2 lbs for this weeks WOW. That was a brief stint in the 9s then 🤣 trying not be annoyed about it.
I'm going to weigh and measure again on Sunday to round up August. IF was really the key to me losing consistently but if it's going to mess up my cycles Im not sure I would want to do that long term. Maybe I need to find a better balance rather than 16:8 every day as standard.

SW: 10 8.0
CW: 10 2.2
GW: 9 7.0

20 min cardio completed this morning + 15 mins on exercise bike. Aiming for 1400 calories.

Marshmellowbunny · 27/08/2025 07:45

SW: 10 Stone 9.6
CW: 10 Stone 4.8
GW: 9 Stone 5

SW: 67.85kg
CW: 64.70kg
GW: 59.4kg

It's very slowly coming off. I was reading through a few of your older posts and Idk whether upping my calories might work? I tend to lose when I've eaten a bit more and had a couple of drinks so IDK. At the moment, I'm aiming for 1300. Which seems reasonable given I'm short (5'2) 😂

Annoyingly my Fitbit has started leaving a red mark on my arm so I can't wear it all the time like I used to. I think it's since I started running again. Maybe the moisture under the band from sweating? I don't know 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wishing you all success today and thank you for being such a supportive group. I'm going through a terrible time in life and knowing you guys are all here tracking away and trying is really helpful 🥰

Marshmellowbunny · 27/08/2025 07:48

@frostedshreddie your GW seems more reasonable than mine! Maybe I should change my goals a bit 🤣🙈 otherwise we have quite similar stats 😊

You're doing really well though 👍🏻

PatienceOfEngels · 27/08/2025 07:59

Typo! That should say ran for 10 years not 20 - oops!

socks1107 · 27/08/2025 08:02

Well done everyone for checking in! That’s half the battle whatever the scale says I find.

i lost another 1lb so I need to adjust my goals.

SW 13.13

biscuitcat · 27/08/2025 08:04

Happy WOW everyone! I’m 1.5lbs down this week - and like you @Determinedloserit would have been more a couple of days ago which is annoying. I’m manifesting that it means a big drop this next week… I’m 500g off my August goal but at the start of the month gave myself until the first WOW of September to meet it so I’m hoping that should be doable.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 27/08/2025 10:49

Will pop back later to read but STS for me from whenever I last weighed. 11lbs down in 11ish weeks.

frostedshreddie · 27/08/2025 11:25

Well done everyone 🤩

@Marshmellowbunnythank you, you are too!!
Pre-children I was around 9st so I figure 9 st 7lbs is a good goal, at least initially! At my heaviest I was just over 12 st, and I have not seen the 9s for around 5 years until the beginning of this month! I fluctuate so much!
