⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

It’s HOT HOT HOT!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

Am pleased with any loss, 3/4lb from last week and going in the right direction. Feels good being in the slightly lower end of the 13 bracket! Have been enjoying going for a walk every day and I think that has helped my mood and therefore better food choices. Really want to continue that once I return to work.

Have been reading along in the background and has been so motivating so thank you all that do contribute as it has made me think about what I’m eating and moving my body more.

Marshmellowbunny · 20/08/2025 10:02

@frostedshreddie my cycle went from 29 days to 26 when I started IF...I don't know if that's helpful information or not. I've been in hospital since it happened and they didn't pick up anything abnormal so 🤷🏻‍♀️ idk.

@PreetyinPurple could it be because of the bloody heat???

LemonDrizzle23 · 20/08/2025 11:50

Well done to all WOWers. What gets measured gets improved (eventually!)

Down 0.5lb for me this week - just in time for holiday weight gain 😂 I don’t even care. Just going to enjoy myself and next WOW will be September.

Lost 0.5 lb this week. Feel like my weight loss is slowing down, maybe I need to recalculate my TDEE and calories allowed. But it's still in the right direction.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 20/08/2025 14:27

I’m just over 10st 9lbs this week, but after a very busy month, lots of socialising (eating and drinking), a bout of ill health, and very little exercise, I’m pretty happy with that. I’ve got a health check later next week and I had hoped to be a bit lighter and fitter by then but I am where I am. I feel like summer is just about done (in Scotland, so schools are back) so time to get back into a healthier routine.

i’ve got a holiday in October that will necessitate dusting off the swim wear for pool lounging, so that’s a bit of an incentive!

PatienceOfEngels · 20/08/2025 15:27

Well, I have finally dropped a little. 76kg so down 0.6kg (and was 77 at weekend so not sure what's going on with scales or weight).

First week back at school. Everyone is overtired and stressed in the house. Too shattered to exercise. Roll on the weekend!

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 20/08/2025 15:37

@frostedshreddie I don't know how old you are, but my cycles went weird a couple of years ago (age 37) - first very short cycles, then very long cycles, then some flooding, then fairly light, then more clockwork - I just keep track of when the last one was and wait for the next to show up now. I've been there with testing - including on 1st of April Grin because I was on day 43!! Longest I've had has been 63 days so effectively skipping a period and shortest was only about 16 days! Taking evening primrose oil capsule from H&B now for about 3 months and they've been much more "normal" since.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 20/08/2025 15:40

Food day: hot chocolate while out with DC, out for lunch and had

  • calamari and fries (starter with side)
  • cocktail
  • brownie & ice cream
Make no excuses, it was lovely! Tea: salmon, new potatoes, veggies
frostedshreddie · 20/08/2025 16:16

Thank you @Marshmellowbunnyand @BlueOysterCultGroupie! I am 35, yes this is so random for me!! Bodies are weird, I will keep you posted. This has thrown my head massively!

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 20/08/2025 17:30

@frostedshreddie the GP at the time did some bloods, said I was too young for it to be peri, looked at PCOS but while they did find cysts on my ovaries apparently it wasn't PCOS 😖so I've just carried on as is. As I say evening primrose seems to be helping at the moment.

PreetyinPurple · 20/08/2025 18:37

@Marshmellowbunny its not hot here. I think it’s gym work and not balancing my calories.
I had a big drop in blood sugar yesterday so think I need to up it.

LegoTherapy · 20/08/2025 19:06

Well done on the losses! I completely forgot to weigh myself this morning. I’ve had stomach ache and a headache all week and have been really cold and snuffly. Proper fed up this week due to family problems but trying to keep things afloat for DD’s GCSEs tomorrow.

Marshmellowbunny · 21/08/2025 07:16

@frostedshreddie I'm glad that you have found something that helps! I hope you figure it out soon...you are right..bodies are weird 🤣

& @PreetyinPurple gym stuff could just be gainz then 👍🏻 it's finally cooler here. Which is good...I can't handle the sun 🤣🙈

Determinedloser · 21/08/2025 08:05

Another 0.6lb off here this morning but I’m sure it will be back up by tomorrow. I can’t believe how much my weight is fluctuating but looking at the Renpho graph the trend is downwards and I’ve lost 4lbs so far in August so I need to look at the whole picture.

Have a lovely day everyone!

LegoTherapy · 21/08/2025 08:54

Morning all. A loss here this morning. Not much, but a loss. September is going to be my actually try month.

Raindancer411 · 21/08/2025 10:09

I didn't weight as mother nature decided to grace me with my monthly lol Most likely will have a lot of water retention and am famished!

biscuitcat · 21/08/2025 15:26

I hope your daughter got the results she hoped for @LegoTherapy!

I’ve got a beautiful fillet of beef from the butcher and I’m busy debating whether my commitment to losing weight extends to having a healthy potato or if I should go all out and make dauphinoise. I have a feeling the dauphinoise will win…

LegoTherapy · 21/08/2025 15:56

Thank you. She did great 🥰

dolphinwars for the win. My dc don’t like them. Weirdos. I think if I ate beef I’d want big ass steak cut chips to go with it. And peas for the nod to healthiness. Enjoy! My Nana used to take me to the pub for a roast beef sandwich with a bowl
of chips. The delicious crunch of salt and an oven bottom muffin. Happy memories.

frostedshreddie · 21/08/2025 16:18

Phew, AF appeared today, what a random 41 day cycle that was. Thank you for all the advice. I might get PCOS investigated tbh, as I have some other symptoms but have never pursued anything bc of my usually regular cycles etc. I am definitely going to try the evening primrose.
I also am going to have a little break from the IF in case that was the culprit 🤔

Anyway still haven't weighed this week as I was so distracted with the period stuff. Might hold on until next Weds for now and let this totm run it's course, then can refocus.

Has anyone watched the biggest loser doc?!

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 21/08/2025 21:08

Period here too and also hangry enough to eat a horse, but not gone too much overboard Halo

Gutted I’ve maintained this week. Been in calorie deficit of 300 calories each day.
I am however back at work, resting heart rate has shot up and my sleep has been awful. I’ve always thought stress was a huge factor in my weight struggle and seems I’m right.

PatienceOfEngels · 22/08/2025 06:37

After 2 months of staying around 77kg I have finally managed to get down to 76 and stay there this week!

Back to school this week for me and the kids and I'm shattered. Have also found myself training my son's football team once a week as there were no volunteers available. I know nothing about football 😂Oh, and I have to give the training in Dutch. Please pray for me! Still, at least it will get me outside every week. I'm used to working with young people and structuring lessons, just in Drama and English , not football! Having to go way outside my comfort zone for this.

Dinners this week have been chicken pesto pasta salad, bacon and potato bake with peas and sweetcorn, chicken korma with rice, peas, carrots, mushroom and macaroni soup. Chicken bhuna out the freezer with rice tonight.

Going to do some batch cooking this weekend to fill the freezer for busy days ahead. Already have bolognese in there so will make some casserole bases to add sausages/chicken to, meatballs and red wine gravy, curries, soup. Think I might need to get some more containers for the freezer.

@biscuitcat I made a nice oven potato bake (with bacon and onions) with a white sauce this week (with milk not cream) but I think there's a ipnch of nom recipe that uses stock instead and is also quite tasty. I save proper dauphinoise for a special occasion. Also love a proper jacket potato in the oven with oil and salt on them to make them really crispy.

@frostedshreddie seen some clips and it looks horrific.

Congrats to your DC @LegoTherapy !

Just need to get my lunch out the freezer - coconut butterbean stew with a slice of wholemeal.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 22/08/2025 07:10

Oh, and I have to give the training in Dutch.

GrinGrinGrin

Oh god! Veels geluk??! I don’t speak Dutch but an adjacent language and this made me properly laugh. Well done on the weight loss, anyway.

I’ve taken the kids to a big theme park for a few days, so aiming for moderate rather than any sort of loss, but given the cost of food here we’re being sensible so far.

Skyglimmer · 22/08/2025 07:19

Only a 0.1kg loss this week although I have lost 2kg in just under 3 weeks total so I need to focus on that. I went out last Friday and I haven't been exercising as much as juggling school holidays and work has been hard enough.

Alwayslearning25 · 22/08/2025 07:43

This morning, I went on the scales that do badly fat and body weight. While my weight has not changed since I've actively tried to loose weight. My fat has gone down and my muscle has gone up. My DH was saying it takes calories to maintain muscles so I should loose weight soon if I continue. I have not successfully counted calories. May start that in September.
