We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Fluctuations are so annoying! I know I’ve not eaten enough to gain over a lb and I know it’ll probably be back pff in the next day or so but it’s still so disheartening to see.

LemonDrizzle23 · 18/08/2025 10:48

Well after a very slow weight loss summer, I have finally hit one of my August goals - I have officially lost 20lbs in total.
My other goal was to see a 13 on the scale by the first weigh in of September. Not sure that will happen as we’re off on holiday in the next few days 😬 But I did at least get one of the goals!

LegoTherapy · 18/08/2025 11:09

A drop of 350g this morning so that’s good and I’m back in the 8s.

Marshmellowbunny · 18/08/2025 11:54

I have been weighing myself every day but maybe I need to stop. I can see that I'm down overall...but I've lost nowhere near as much as I'd like. Going on holiday in September, so I'm going to use that as my target. I've found it so hard with it being so sunny here! Sun makes me want to let loose and eat/drink what I want. 🙈 Idk about anyone else?

I'm doing a 24 hour fast today. Trying to reset the old nervous system and that. We will see what happens. I stopped eating yesterday at 7 and I'm not eating until after 7 tonight. I usually IMF until 12 anyone so 🤷🏻‍♀️ has anyone ever done a longer fast? Can anyone share any insights?

Hope you're all okay! Going into Autumn soon. I wonder if it'll be easier when it's not Summer. Mmmm.

socks1107 · 18/08/2025 13:21

After being in a frustrating stall and seemingly going up and up I’ve taken some advice from Nutracheck. Increased my calories yesterday and today and will see what happens. Also hoping the cooler weather helps I do wander if I was holding water and I can’t be sure as I have had a partial hysterectomy but it may have been my lutuel phase going off my sore boobs and horrible snappy mood.
the nutritionist says my activity is still high enough to do 1650 a day so will give it a week, if no results I’ll drop back to 1400 so really playing with it this month. Still a bit down about it all as eight months in I’m bored silly and need the scale to move.

i did a 20 minute weight work out this morning so that’s a start today.

has anyone used huel to replace breakfast? I’m fed up of the same office food every morning ( my porridge) and wander whether to switch it up a little

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 18/08/2025 15:13

Good luck @socks1107

I've done 20hrs @Marshmellowbunny not particularly planned. Not sure how 24 would feel. Let us know how it went.

Forgot to post menu...
B: toastie and hot choc (out with a friend)
L: BBQ chicken and salad in a protein flatbread, last bit of orzo/veg salad
D: chicken stew with lots of veggies and some rice

All within 1600kcal which is what MFP suggest I should aim for to loose a lb a week. Tomorrow will be more challenging as out over lunch, but might just hang on till I'm home for it - I know I won't faint/melt/die now with IF Grin

Ohh. I'm at about 20 hours now. It feels okay 🤷🏻‍♀️ can definitely tell in hungry and definitely looking forward to eating but yeah, still feeling ok ATM 🤞🏻

WearyAuldWumman · 18/08/2025 17:29

Weight is sticking.

Gym session: 2 mins on SPARC; 2 sets leg extensions and leg curls.

First ever Pilates class. Got stuck at one point and inadvertently exclaimed “Oh ya hound ye!”

Fortunately, the only response was laughter.

PreetyinPurple · 18/08/2025 18:47

Did my first gym session yesterday. Spent the rest of the day starving hungry.
Sore today but back again tomorrow

frostedshreddie · 18/08/2025 19:15

Hi everyone, birthday season is over for me 👍🏻
Definitely expecting a gain this week but back to normal now. Have planned my calories for tomorrow and going to do a nice yoga stretch in the morning, as after all the travelling around I feel I've been cooped up in a car and am achy. Due on my period too so aches and gains this week for sure.

Hope all doing well! @MarshmellowbunnyI have done 23 hrs accidentally when I was planning 16 hours and then got caught up for ages at work with no access to food. It felt amazing, but I could only do it if super busy/distracted!

Alwayslearning25 · 18/08/2025 19:16

Did my second c25k but also had a massive slice of national trust property cake. Had an upset stomach at the weekend. So everything is a bit off.

dayslikethese1 · 18/08/2025 23:41

Lost another lb last week, that's a total of 16 since I started in June. My main thing to work on has been my alcohol consumption. Was with parents over the weekend so bit more food (and beer!) than usual but I'll be back to my usual routine this week. Trying to drink more water as well because I always forget.

Well done on getting out and doing the C25K. It's such a good programme!

Marshmellowbunny · 19/08/2025 08:34

Ok, I did my fast and it felt real good.
Love all of you doing accidentally, it's making me want to try for longer next time!

My real brew tastes amazing this time and I'm going to have some toast soon which I'm actually excited about.

Hope you're all well. It's a hot day again 🥵

LegoTherapy · 19/08/2025 09:39

Is anybody sort of looking forward to September and a return to routine? I’m all about soups and have a new soup cookbook to try. I made an Apple crumble yesterday for the first time in ages. I’m also looking forward to earlier nights because it feels like bedtime earlier due to being dark. I find it harder to wake up in the morning when it’s dark though. 6.30am feels like the middle of the night. Mornings are cool here and I’m in my dressing gown and slippers eating my porridge and chia. We went on holiday to Cornwall and I had white sliced bread toast a few times. Never again, not more than once anyway. My poor stomach! Porridge or homemade bread toast only for me. I missed my red pepper hummus so much too. I’m feeling so much better for being back home and eating my usual food. When eating out I had chips or hummus and ciabatta tapas. We only ate out 3 times because the choices and quality was rubbish. It amazes me when places can’t even do decent chips. A captive audience for these restaurants on sea fronts. We did go for a cream tea twice because Dd loves a cream tea. They served them quite sweet compared to what we make at home. I am going to make some for results day on Thursday.
One thing I discovered as part of this stupid prediabetes course is using a tortilla as pizza base. I use the Crosta and Mollica Wholeblend ones that are about 30% wholemeal and load it up with lots of mushrooms and peppers and homemade pizza sauce. They aren’t particularly big but very filling with lots of cheese and veg. It saves me time waiting for dough to rise too for emergency yet healthy pizzas.

So September for me is all about a routine reset and getting better sleep and lots of veg into soup. Also sad to know that summer is nearing the end but it’s been a good one for us.

went to the gym alone for the first time, reallg enjoyed once I was there. Did my set programme and then did some extra cardio. Would have stayed longer but needed to be back for DD.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 19/08/2025 18:38

@LegoTherapy we make SR flour and greek yogurt flatbread pizza - quite good for protein, but that looks delicious.

I pine for sunlight, so not with you on Autumn but definitely ready for routine.

Was out this morning 9-1. Ended at McDs - I had a muffin to open my eating window - 300kal according to their website, so a darn sight better than a meal!

muffin
jacket with bacon, cheese & spring onion once home
chilli & rice
raspberries
snack: toast&PB

dayslikethese1 · 19/08/2025 20:49

Feeling v bloated today (TOTM) so have been drinking lots of water and eating lots of fibre. Itsu sushi for lunch because I was out and then homemade vegetable and black bean curry for tea, plus an apple and a zero beer. Made loads of curry so I can eat that tmo as well now.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 20/08/2025 07:43

WoW - 74.3. And haring off to work so no time to type more, argh!

Determinedloser · 20/08/2025 07:48

0.6lb off this WOW. Bit disappointed as lost more the first couple of weeks but really my deficit is only enough for me to lose half a pound per week so just need to accept it and keep going.

Good luck everyone weighing today!

Marshmellowbunny · 20/08/2025 08:06

Morning everyone!

And hello to the early people. Well done on your WOW even if it was only a small loss.

Thank you @dayslikethese1 for the reminder that I have curry in the fridge for lunch! I would totally have forgot if I didn't see your post.

Not too bad really. Back down to my lowest after a holiday and drinking every day so feel okay 👍🏻

I've had 2 nights of no beer which is probably helping and I'm going to try and not drink until my next holiday in the middle of September! Will see if it helps and if I manage it 😂🙈

Good luck to everyone else WOW today! Hope you're all doing okay ☺️

socks1107 · 20/08/2025 08:07

Lost 1lb this morning. But, I’m sort of back where I was a couple of weeks ago. I think the heat had me holding onto water weight and I can only guess as I’ve had a partial hysterectomy, but it may have been that time of the month. Would like to see me down again next week as I feel bouncing around the same pound for a few weeks and because of that only have 5 weeks to lose 8lb which isn’t going to happen! My loss compared to others is so slow but I shall keep going:
happy scale says my rate of loss 0.3 a week - very frustrating when I hardly ever creep over my calories

SW 13.13
CW 11.8
GW 11

biscuitcat · 20/08/2025 08:22

0.5lbs off this week - I’m a bit disappointed as it was 1.5lbs but seem to have gained a pound the past couple of days. I didn’t think I’d eaten enough to justify that so I’m hoping it’s water or bloating or something, but also maybe need to think about exactly what I’m eating too. I’m now 3lbs off having lost 10% of my body weight!

frostedshreddie · 20/08/2025 08:32

Well done WOWers! I'm going to WOTh, as I've already had my breakfast smoothie and forgot to weigh this morning.

Slight side rail of a question - those that IF has anyone noticed it messed with your cycle? I was thinking I'm due on this week, checked my app and I'm 12 days late 😳 I'm going to get a pg test ASAP (not ttc!) But was wondering if it could be IF stressing my body out 🤔 I have had some other stress going on too but nothing major. However even still, 12 days is crazy late for me, I am usually 28-30 days regular.

PreetyinPurple · 20/08/2025 08:49

So I was 0.2kg down and now back up again today. I am 100% in a plateau at the moment. Never known weight loss to be so slow
