January 2025! Following on from LOSE IT! December 2024

Fresh Start, New Habits! To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 5lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Weight remains the same at goal but good god I wish I'd never taken the advice of getting the me 360 app and doing a body scan. I've always felt relatively slim at around 8.5 stone give or take but I actually look like Fairy Mary in Tinkerbell. I've just had a little sniff into my lunch after doing a workout. FML. I'm never going to look like Queen Clarion with being 5'2.5" but come on.

Congratulations all you losers!

LegoTherapy or anyone else who's tried it, do you think the MeThreeSixty app does anything credible? I looked it up and it looks like snake oil to me - especially the claim to get dexa scan info from it, which just seems ludicrous.

Puffalicious · 30/01/2025 00:20

Hey all,

Been off the ball this week- snacking too much, not sticking to 16:8. Need to do better. Also had a Burns' Night blow oiut, but was delicious ( inc traditional neeps, which is what I think you folks call swede? Love it. Unfortunately, the key is maahed with proper butter & black pepper!).

Did lose 1lb , taking me to half a stone loss, which is decent, but think I'll need to be extra low cals to not creep up next week (weight definitely takes 2 weeks to register with me).

SW 14st 2
CW 13st 9
GW 11stb7 (initially).

One real positive is I'm keeping up my walking everyday. It's made a difference to my mood & hopefully doing something for fitness.

See you all on the Feb thread. January can get in the bin!

LegoTherapy · 30/01/2025 07:18

@under60kgbyJuly deleted it in disgust but I will do a scan again today and then measure myself and see if it's accurate. It had my body fat at 10% higher than my scales. When I toggled across to make myself lighter it made very little difference except to make my legs really big. I didn't look more toned or anything. I was just slightly slimmer all over, hardly noticeable and with massive legs.

socks1107 · 30/01/2025 07:52

Oh no I love the MeThreeSixty app! Been using it a year and see the inches coming off. It's all whatever works for each individual.

We're on holiday, drinking too much but walking 25+k steps a day

WoW for me too.

SW: 94kg
CW: 90.9 kg = BMI into overweight range!
GW: 70 kg

Feeling happy with that after being a bit unhappy last week - a bit more than my target off but that's due to period finishing I think. Seem to have settled on a steady sustainable diet which gives some a decent deficit and not too many hungry issues if I make sure I get a good amount of protein at each meal. Am also much more active with running and walking being consistent (new job helps, more walking on the commute and I'm trying not to eat lunch at my desk so get out and about at lunchtime too).

And having stupidly jumped on the scales a couple of times this week and been disappointed by what I saw I am absolutely committing to only weighing on Wednesdays going forward, it's a much better approach to stop me obsessing over the scales. What I'm doing is working, seeing perfectly normal blips day to day is not helpful in trying to focus on the slow and steady downward trend. I am a bit inclined towards giving up if I feel down, so doing what I can to avoid that is really important I think.

Looks like slow and steady is the general theme in January for us in this group! Looking forward to more progress in February.

Hmmmm yes I think I agree with the multiple weighing not necessarily being helpful. A few weeks back I was weighing daily then when my loss reduced a bit when I got to WOW I was disappointed rather than pleased I’d lost something!

LegoTherapy · 30/01/2025 10:24

@socks1107 I braved the app again and did my own measurements. I still look like Fairy Mary but the app was not accurate. It was better on some areas like my calves but way out on my hips.
Hips measure 5.9cm less than on the app!
It ranges from 0.8cm to 5.9cm higher on the app than my actual tape measure measurements with most being 1 to 2.8cm out. I do have chunky thighs and arms and a lot of excess weight around my stomach but I'm thinking I'd need to lose another couple of stone to have the figure I'd like. Depressing.

Jaderz · 30/01/2025 11:27

I am also on holiday now. I’ve been constipated for some time but I must have now probably lost half a stone as everything decided it wanted to exit me at the airport at 4am and on the plane. Crying but relieved 😂

Fellsbells · 30/01/2025 12:51

@LegoTherapy you look fabulous (even without a head!) be kind to yourself.

LegoTherapy · 30/01/2025 13:18

@Jaderz nothing beats a good evacuation! Peri is playing havoc with my insides along with not eating as much volume these days. It makes for slooow transit. Cosmocol helps.

@Fellsbells that's very kind but I'm embracing the Fairy Mary vibe. The good news is that green suits my strawberry blonde and English rose complexion and I often rock the mum bun 😁

Goodafternoonmillie · 30/01/2025 13:42

I overslept today and so no workout this morning. I am about to go for a big 5k walk as my daily movement.

B: Cinnamon porridge
L: melon & ricotta salad
D: Gym Kitchen Teriyaki Chicken

LemonDrizzle23 · 30/01/2025 14:02

@LegoTherapy you look great on the magical app! I have zero desire to try that on myself 😱

@Jaderz sorry for the bad timing of your insides! You must be feeling better now however....

Well I'm on my second day of adding ferments to my food. Not too many internal issues so far 👀 Going to need to get the slow cooker out again next week, as the freezer is running low on lunch stuff.

Will mark my place on the February thread!

CakeFace1234 · 30/01/2025 14:10

There are some lovely suggestions for food on here. Trying to support my DC with an anti-inflammatory diet ATM because of inflammatory conditions but it's been very monotonous.

Yes, exactly the same for me, stupidly disappointed even though it's still a loss! But it's a hard habit to break I'm finding - will keep trying.

Goodafternoonmillie · 31/01/2025 07:16

Last check in for January!!
This morning I was very pleased to see another drop to 10 st 2.6 lbs 🎉

This means in January I have lost 6lbs exactly, 1.8% body fat. I took my measurements and I’ve lost half an inch off my arms and hips, and 1 inch off my waist and thigh! Chuffed with that!

30 min leg strength completed this morning ✅
B: Smoothie
L: Melon & Ricotta Salad
D: Meatballs

see you all on the February thread!

PatienceOfEngels · 31/01/2025 09:18

Hopping over to February thread now!

WeAreTheThirteen · 31/01/2025 09:37

January has been rubbish for me, or I should say I have been rubbish at eating healthily. Still had too many Christmas treats. Hopefully will be back on track in February.
SW 11 9
CW 11 8
Total loss of 1 lb in January.

TheRealHousewife · 31/01/2025 09:48

Good Morning Troupers!

Last weigh-in for January 9st 3lbs - well a smidge under but rounded up.

@Goodafternoonmillie Fabulous progress! 👍👏👌

@WeAreTheThirteen January can be tough to navigate. The positive is you’re following along and building your intentions! Imagine where you could be this time next month. You could lose a good few lbs with a few healthy tweaks and feel so much better both emotionally and physically! You can do it but only if you want it!

@PatienceOfEngels Well done on keeping off the nighttime snacking and ending the month on a loss! 👌

@LegoTherapy You look great via the app. I’m going to see if I can find it. I might brave it. Me feels my norks will take over! 😅

(Shared on February thread) It does seem the support you all give to each other really does help! You might not see the numbers move every week but over time, if you remain consistent with your endeavours the weight does shift. It’s all about balance. If you have a celebration coming up or meal out etc just shave a few calories off the day before and day after to give yourself wiggle room and take the guilt away. Life is for living and enjoying food together is a big part of that. And it’s good for the soul ❤️

Menu
Meal 1 - Chicken wrap and salad.
Meal 2 - Spicy turkey balls (😅) & stir fried veg.
Tea, black coffee and water.

Exercise
Session 1 - Yoga stretches.
Session 2 - Hand weights.

See you all on the February thread x

@LegoTherapy Is the app 360 or threesixty? I can’t find it on the apple App Store. Thank you in advance x

Hi all I am please to share. I have not binged for 1 month
Not gone near any junk for a month.
In February my main concentration will be intake more water and count calories to support my weight loss. I do have under thyroid.
I am very pleased with my outcome for January. But no pound drops yet. Not gained or dropped still the same.

I’ve found the app @LegoTherapy …. My god it is bossy! 😅 I ended up standing on a stool as I couldn’t get my feet in then balancing on one leg as it told me to move my feet further apart 😅

Morning ladies hope your all well and in good health.
My weekend has not been too bad. Yesterday I've managed to keep my portions small.
Still need to get cardio in when am not in gym hopefully my walking will do that trick today. Taking my girls for a bike ride.
Making spaghetti bolognese. Hopefully am not going for my second. That's one habbit I need to break.
