January 2025! Following on from LOSE IT! December 2024

Fresh Start, New Habits! To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 5lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Helloooo! Here's to 2025!
Looking forward to the 6th and getting back to normal. I'm feeling overwhelmed and need some time to myself and to get walking again.
Maintaining my current weight is the goal.

Tinytigertail · 30/12/2024 12:07

Yes please! I successfully lost and kept off 9lbs this year, so I'm a slow and steady loser. I'm planning on using Slimod, which I already have. It's a 9 min audio that you listen to everyday day and it aims to change your relationship with food. I find that when I listen, I start to naturally make better choices and find I get into an 18-6 way of eating. I could do with support here to stay on track! I'd really like to lose a stone to a stone and a half in 2025.

VelvetWildflower · 30/12/2024 12:11

I'm in. Here's to 2025!

I woke up today and I've lost 2lb (water weight almost definitely) but it's a start. I've got 11 stone 5 pounds to lose (an entire human being!) until a healthy BMI but I'd be happy losing 10 stone and staying there at the low end of the overweight BMI (I'm quite tall).

I lost 2 stone back in the summer but put it all back on & now I'm back to the same weight I was after giving birth to DS in April.

Time to shift it one pound at a time. First major goal is 3 stone off which I'm told shouldn't be too hard to shift as I'm so large. Everything else will come off pound by painstaking pound.

TheRealHousewife · 30/12/2024 12:33

Welcome to the new thread @LegoTherapy @Tinytigertail @VelvetWildflower

@LegoTherapy I know what you mean! I’ve cleared the fridge out and prepping some wholesome soup for the coming days lunches. I’m itching to get the Christmas decorations down but my other half is a stoic traditionalist! We’ve compromised and half are going away in the coming days and the trees are coming down at the weekend 🥳

@VelvetWildflower Congratulations!👌 I’m the opposite … got on the scales this morning to find I’m another 2lbs up! This is after an ‘on point’ day yesterday! Not too worried about it and I’m certainly motivated to stay on point going forward 👍

@Tinytigertail Slimod sounds interesting… keep us updated to how you progress with that 👍

I’m in. I lost a stone between August and November whilst on a similar thread. Unfortunately I have put 7 lbs back on due to overeating in December. Starting over on 2 January and hopefully that 7 lbs will shift quite quickly. Then I would like to lose another stone.

baffledcats · 30/12/2024 12:45

Hello! Can I join please?

I weighed myself yesterday and have put on a whopping 10lbs through December 🙈 I lost 2st 10lbs at the start of this year so I'm trying to focus on the fact I'm still 2st lighter than last Christmas, but I still feel so bloated and horrible!

I'd like to lose 17lbs by the end of April which will get me to my target weight at which I feel my best. I'll be calorie counting and 45-min brisk walks each day, which was how I lost weight at the start of this year.

socks1107 · 30/12/2024 13:16

I'll join. I follow calorie counting and have about 2 stone to lose this year, more if I can

IDareSay · 30/12/2024 13:39

I'm in and will follow a similar plan to yours @TheRealHousewife as I know that works for me. First WoW will be the 8th January for me but I am already mostly following an eating window of 8 hours as it just comes naturally to me.

LemonDrizzle23 · 30/12/2024 14:25

Hi @TheRealHousewife 👋

Checking in for the new year. 2025..... madness!

TheRealHousewife · 30/12/2024 14:30

afternoon everyone. I’m joining in. Last new year I was the bottom end of 11st. This new year I am 9.9/9.10 and looking to finally end my weight loss at 8.11. I am so close I can taste it 😂.
I calorie count which works well for me because of other issues ( bad gallbladder ) so have to be careful what I eat.

I also go to the gym every morning and do weights. Which I love ( never thought I would say that.

my first weigh in after taking a week off weighing myself is New Year’s Day. Good luck everyone. And remember just keep going. A pound a week doesn’t seem much. But those weeks turn into months and the pounds turn in stones off. We can do this.

rainbow616 · 30/12/2024 15:28

I'm back in for the new year! I've had a lot of health issues the last couple of months so have been very quiet. I'm hoping to start to feel better soon. Will be back on it now though. I'm determined to reach my goal weight by at least the end of Feb.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas 🎄 xxx

Puffalicious · 30/12/2024 15:34

Hi all
I posted in the other thread the other day.

I'm joining you all again. I've not weighed yet (too afraid to!) but thinking the worst, unfortunately.

I lost 2.5 stones 3 years ago using MFPal & support on here. Unfortunately, a tough 3 years, HRT & taking my eye off the ball means I reckon I've put it all back on.

I'm really very down about it, but TheRealHousewife has already written me a long, motivating post, so I'm ready to start the journey again. I can't face another Summer unable to wear all my nice clothes. I'm surrounded by naturally slim friends who eat far more than I do, which is so hard!

I'm 53 & menopausal (the original weight gain that sparked the 2.5 stone loss was due to peri, for sure) & on HRT this past year, so managing all that too.

Looking forward to having all your lovely support. I'll be using MFPal & intermittent fasting, but always open to hearing of things that work for others too. ❤️

Goodafternoonmillie · 30/12/2024 15:40

Thank you for new thread @TheRealHousewife!

will do first WOW on 01/01, that will bring the new year in with a bump 🤣
2025 is the year I finally get back to pre-baby weight I just know it 💪🏻

OneDayIWillLearn · 30/12/2024 15:42

yes I’ll be back too! I’ve been eating badly since Saturday 20th December but I’ve kept up my run-every-day-of-December challenge. Not weighed since before Christmas but I expect there will be weight on, probably a fair amount! We are going my in-laws after NYE so realistically it’s probably the 6th that I’ll be back on plan.

I’m doing calorie counting within an 8-10 hour eating window. Started at 13 stone 6lbs in June and was down to 12 stone 2lbs before Christmas. My January target will be mostly to lose the Christmas weight and depending on how much that is, maybe also get into the 11s. My ultimate target is to be low 11s.

How do you find HRT effects your weight. I've been on it three months and think I'm better on it weight wise.
I lost two stone last year so don't want the hrt to affect my efforts this year

Gcsunnyside23 · 30/12/2024 15:57

I'd love to join in too. I had a bit of success earlier in the year off and on but illness from sept scuppered my attempts (along with my missing motivation). But 2025 is the year I'll get it off, trying to be positive about it as I've about 3.5 stone to get off and at this point

beconsistent23 · 30/12/2024 16:56

Would love to join too. Starting year off at heaviest weight ever but feeling very positive about looking after myself better this year.

Skyglimmer · 30/12/2024 17:16

I will be joining again, I haven't weighed in since the start of December so think I will be in for a shock in January but I can do this!

MadamMop · 30/12/2024 19:29

Can I join you all?
Lost 40 lbs in 2024, have another 20-28 to go. I tend to do OMAD, and do a lot of power yoga nowadays which definitely helps! Focus for January is water and walking. Tempted to get a walking pad for next to my bed as the weather here is so wet and windy this winter - does anyone have one?

TheRealHousewife · 30/12/2024 21:14

Welcome @MadamMop Congratulations on your loss to date 👏👌

Nice to see you all on board again @Skyglimmer @rainbow616 @Goodafternoonmillie @OneDayIWillLearn @Puffalicious

@beconsistent23 You can do it! 👍

@Gcsunnyside23 Setting smaller goals can aid in keeping you motivated 👍

@Andtheworldwentwhite Fantastic commitment going to the gym every morning 👏

Marking my place so I can rejoin.
Still in Christmas / lots of food mode here, so will skip this weeks wow and weigh in next week ☺️

Twateralflow · 31/12/2024 08:21

Yes please to joining. I could have written the post about none of my summer clothes fitting. I just don't look or feel like me anymore. I used to be about 9.5 stone (I'm 5ft 8ish but shrinking!) I am now 12.3 stone and feel big and heavy. I've started running 3 x weekly and strength training at least 1 x weekly as well as some yoga. I try to fast and this is brilliant throughout day. I don't really eat until lunch time or later but then will crave rubbish in the evening and it all goes wrong! Any tips for not snacking and eating rubbish in the evening would be great.
