Following on from the March thread.

Spring is here and it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, a fresh new start & fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now maintaining around 8st 12lb; although I’d like to see another half stone off 😬

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes

Good morning! Congrats on the losses 📉 👏

I'm awake early for no good reason. I'm really not a morning person, but the sun is shining (for now), so I have a spring in my step ☀️

Anyway, 9st 6.2lb, so definitely going in the right direction 😁 It's not been easy, but lurking on this thread is helping with the willpower ❤

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 10/04/2024 07:38

Morning,

I'm not weighing this week. I tend to gain over the half term holidays - not because of the food but because I'm quite sedentary compared to my usual work day, I'll weigh again when I'm back at work.

Well done to everyone who has lost!

LemonDrizzle23 · 10/04/2024 07:40

Good morning WOWers!

A maintain for me this week, which I think is ok for the Easter hols. I seem to have done a lot of sitting around with friends, while the kids run around at various indoor activities, thanks to the rubbish weather. It's been fun, but quite sedentary!

SW: 97.5kg
CW: 92.7kg
10%: 88kg

Did go to the gym on Monday. Will go again today and tomorrow.
I have to get dressed up for an event at the beginning of May, and would love to be below 90kg by then. Which feels doable in a month.

Non scale victory - last night I was able to get my wedding rings off without copious amounts of moisturiser and cold water. Not that I need to take them off 😂 but I can!

Good luck to everyone weighing today.

Flowerchild547 · 10/04/2024 08:03

2lb loss this week although half of it is just getting rid of the gain last week! Repeat to self, slow and steady wins the race.

SW: 17st 10
CW: 16st 1
GW: 10st 10
Total Loss: 23lb

ApricitySeeker · 10/04/2024 17:12

I’ve only lost 0.2kg this week. I may need to reassess how many calories I need as it will take me years to lose this weight at this rate! Current weight is 77.2kg. I do feel like I have more energy this week and that I’ve done really well sticking to my calorie allowance and making sure that what I’m eating is healthy so I’ve made progress in that respect. Will be walking more next week when the kids are back in school so hopefully that will help.

LumionaMoonsplash · 10/04/2024 17:59

Another lb down this week. Didn't eat particularly healthily this weekend whilst away in the Lake District and the alcohol didn't help 🙃. I did walk over 20k miles each day so hopefully balances the calories in/ out a bit 🤞.

SW: 15.0
CW: 12.11

Oanyerselhen · 10/04/2024 19:25

drumroll please 🥁

First weigh in to give me some stats and goals.

SW: 149lbs
GW: 130lbs

I have been particularly good over the last 10 days so do think that that start weight is lower than it would have been last week.

Once I get to 130lbs, I'll review. Lowest weight was 125lbs but I don't know if that's possible now plus 2 kids and other side of 40.

ChickenChipsandBeans · 10/04/2024 21:38

A 1kg loss for me this week, happy with that. Spent 5 days in Istanbul with my daughter who is in University there. I thought I would gain weight as she took me to all of her favourite restaurants and we ate a lot of gorgeous pasta, but we also walked about 20k steps a day so that helped. Hoping the rest of the month continues on a similar path.
SW 82.2kg
CW 71.6 kg

tiredwitlessagain · 10/04/2024 21:42

SW 13st
CW. 12st 6lb
GW 11st

Down 2 lb since Saturday.
Sticking pretty well to the 1500 calories per day, helped by not eating in the mornings until 12 at earliest.
Happy with that!
The biggest change since calorie counting is eating far fewer nuts and a bit less fruit. I used to bring bananas and almonds or Brazil nuts to work and munch throughout the day. Used way too much of calorie allowance so that had to stop- and got used to it quite quickly thankfully.
Making an effort to walk during the day. Don't do any regular exercise other than that - aiming for 10k steps but 8 or 9k is a good day.

I’m so impatient and also annoyed with myself for letting myself go and hoping I’ll just wake up lighter without the effort. Time to sort myself out so I can wear my beautiful clothes before they go out of fashion. Really looking forward to the scales starting with 11… it’s been a while.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 10/04/2024 22:33

Evening WOWers!

I was 2lb up on my last WOW two weeks ago, but I was expecting it. Back to the calorie counting today and I’ve been committed to a strength training bootcamp this week so all good.congratulations to everyone who posted losses, and solidarity with anyone who didn’t!

NothingTraLaLa · 10/04/2024 22:44

Evening all! I’ve been absent for a couple of weeks as I lost my mojo; Easter and the school holidays haven’t helped either. Because I was getting closer to target weight I took my eye off the ball and things like scones with jam and cream started creeping into my diet. Delicious, but not conducive to weight loss.

Fortunately I’ve gained less than a pound and I’m trying to be better this week now that the kids are back at school.

SW 128 lbs
CW 117 lbs
TW 112 lbs

I put some freshly washed jeans on this morning and they don't feel as tight as usual! Very happy with that 😁

RunnyPaint · 12/04/2024 09:52

@jjaneljl, 🎉 Well done! That kind of tangible benefit can be really motivating. I keep popping back to this thread to keep me motivated, so thank you for letting us know 😊

Brilliant! That’s a great feeling.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 12/04/2024 12:03

@TheRealHousewife I hope all is well with you. I remember you posted that you wouldn’t be around much this month, so I hope you’ve enjoyed your holiday (if you’ve been) and health appointments went ok!

janeljl · 12/04/2024 13:40

Thanks @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo & @RunnyPaint

They're definitely not loose yet, just less uncomfortable 😂

LemonDrizzle23 · 12/04/2024 20:44

Dear god, the last couple of days of Easter hols have been off plan. Pizza express, macdonalds, popcorn at the cinema and waaaay too much Easter chocolate.

This weekend I feel I need some real food to counteract all the UPF. It really does make you feel rubbish....

LumionaMoonsplash · 12/04/2024 21:10

NSV, I've just bought some size 12-14 pj's on the very small chance they may fit soon. OMG they fit, now 😮. I'm was squeezing into size 20 last Autumn. Very happy 😊

GameOfJones · 12/04/2024 22:38

That is amazing @LumionaMoonsplash !

Sadly I've really been off track over the Easter holidays. I'm looking forward to the back to school routine from Monday tbh. There's been way too much alcohol and snacking so I really need to get back on plan.

ChickenChipsandBeans · 13/04/2024 08:27

Well done ! @LumionaMoonsplash

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 13/04/2024 23:39

this month is NOT going well in any way shape or form.
not sure if i can get my mindset in the right zone by monday but i hope so.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 15/04/2024 08:10

Good luck on resetting today @CurlsnSunshinetime4tea @GameOfJones and anyone else needing to get back on it after the hols.

i’ve not been strictly calorie counting over the last week as had quite a few social events, but I’ve been very good outside of those and didn’t drink any wine Friday or Saturday night to make up for them, so I think the excess pounds from my Easter are coming off. Which puts me back on my ‘lose half a stone by summer hols’ goal. I’ve got 10 weeks!
