Following on from the March thread.

Spring is here and it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, a fresh new start & fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now maintaining around 8st 12lb; although I’d like to see another half stone off 😬

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes

Ending the month with 11lb loss. So, so happy with that!

sw - 12st 9lbs
cw - 11st 12lbs
gw - 10st 3lbs

mini goal for May 11st 4lbs… but I have a very full on week with every reason to self sabotage. Must keep in control. I control what goes into my mouth… just need to remember that! Good luck everyone with your May goals, it’s time for a big push towards summer.

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 30/04/2024 08:03

Well done to those with losses! And well done to everyone who is still here even if it's not going well!

I think I'm going to be glad to see the back of April.
It's May tomorrow. Our back door is open. The sun is shining. Getting my nails done today. May will be my month! (I'm letting the universe know now....)

Allthegoodnamestakken · 30/04/2024 10:15

Hello all,
hoping you will welcome me back I have been off the wagon for months now. quite a lot of illness and injury has been holding me back but I braved the scales again and was pleasantly surprised to see I am only at 67kg which is where I've been sitting all year.
Mission is to get back to 64kg which is what I weighed last summer and then make another attempt at my initial 60kg target.
Currently focusing on reducing calorie intake through less snacks and sweet treats, healthier choices at mealtimes and smaller portions when I do choose something unhealthy.
I need to get back to weekly weigh-ins as its very easy to ignore the problem without. Plan today is
Breakfast - Green juice post gym class
Lunch- Chickpea salad
Dinner - Chicken pasta

WeirdPookah · 30/04/2024 10:29

Been for a 3 mile walk this morning, now waiting for parcel delivery.

Still feeling super stressed over things, but today was the first time in weeks we have been able to sleep past 6am. I've felt so tired I felt ill. Bloody pigeon.

B: black bean burrito
L: tahini siracha lentils, leeks, cabbage
D: minestrone, pesto, chicken

Hi everyone, can’t believe another month has passed —and I don’t break my plateau— but while @TheRealHousewife still seems to be out of action, it’s maybe time for another thread. I’m not sure if my skills are up to creating a new thread and linking to this one, but I could give it a bash unless anyone else would like to volunteer?

LumionaMoonsplash · 30/04/2024 12:54

It's a plateau for me too. I've decided to take a break, I met my 6m goals.
Good luck everyone, see you all again in the Autumn.

TheRealHousewife · 30/04/2024 13:05

Hi Everyone

I can see you’re all doing marvellously 👏. Even though I’ve not been on the thread this month I have thought of you all! Thank you all for keeping the going for everyone! It’s much appreciated.

I’ve finished the month where I started at 8st 12 so in effect maintaining.

Thank you @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo for offering but I’ll be posting Mays thread in a short while if that ok 😊

For those of you who didn’t see it I did post that I would be absent for April due to holidays, short break and health appointments. The short break was cancelled due to ill health and I’m still under the hospital. I’m generally ok but my back is shot so it’s looking like I’ll need further surgery. I’m not stressing about it but I’m definitely incapacitated to a greater degree to what I was.

Im hoping to be able to be more present on the threads during May but don’t worry if I go missing in action 😬. Sorry for not name checking but I need to read up on the thread; nonetheless I’d like to thank everyone who’s kept the thread going. You ladies are awesome.

Delighted you are back to post the next thread @TheRealHousewife Sorry to hear about the health issues and that you had to cancel your break though.

Guys I've hit my 1800 cal goal today and now I need some motivation not to go back for more once I finish this delicious dinner.

Does anybody else need some evening motivation?

Any techniques to help me not snack????

Do something that occupies your hands or keeps you away from food

Knit
Sew
Colour in
Write a novel
Empty and reorganise a cupboard
Go out for a walk

If all else fails and you absolutely must eat, then make it carrot sticks, cucumber, lettuce something that you can eat loads of for very few calories.

fairyliquidbubbles · 01/05/2024 18:20

@FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain

This is really useful tips. Thanks a lot. I'm going to have a FaceTime with my best friend and then try to just go to bed.

Wish me strength plz.
