Following on from the March thread.

Spring is here and it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, a fresh new start & fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now maintaining around 8st 12lb; although I’d like to see another half stone off 😬

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes

Ok so a slow (non start) to the month ... But I've finished my Easter chocolate, done a healthy food shop and charged my watch so I can count my steps and I'm ready to go 💪

🎉🥳🍾🙌🎊🥳🎉

199 lbs on the scales this morning! Goodbye 200's and only 2 lb to go till I can say goodbye to "Obese"!

🎉🥳🍾🙌🎊🥳🎉

mumpenalty · 04/04/2024 07:27

Hello, please can I join? I’ve been trying to lose a stone without any success for almost a year! I do 10k steps a day and 2x1 hour strength and weight training every week. I’m starting swimming after the Easter hols. Exercise is not my issue!
i really struggle with dieting. Since kids I have a sweeter tooth and find it much harder to make healthier choices. I plan to start properly on Monday, will calorie count (1200) and I might also do 16:8 as I should manage to do all my eating between 11-7. I’m terrible at drinking water so that is a key goal too.
SW/CW: 10st 7lb
GW: 9st 7lb

Rewis · 04/04/2024 07:33

SW: 97kg
Last week: 94.7kg
CW: 96.4kg
GW I: 90kg
+1.7

Not surprised. I ate my way through a city break in London 😅

Dieting is a lot easier when you're on your own making your own meals and eating when you want. Spent the entire Easter weekend plus some with my bf and it is a lot harder with the other person when you have to consider them aswell. Need to learn to say no to suggestions and just do my thing 😁

LemonDrizzle23 · 04/04/2024 09:49

Well done @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain 🎉
That is mentally my next goal!

Illness and holiday hasn't done too much damage. I think gain of around 0.5kg. So my slightly late WOW figures are:

SW: 75.2kg
CW: 72.8kg
10%: 88kg

We're in the middle of Easter hols, so usual work outs are out. Will have to focus on diet and not eating all the Easter eggs!

Castlerigg · 04/04/2024 10:09

Well done @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain, that's brilliant!

149lb exactly for me today. It's gradual, but it's going in the right direction.

I didn't weigh in yesterday. My scales need batteries. Will sort that and weigh next Wednesday.

Still making the changes though and building good habits this week. In previous times I would have used this as an excuse to get off the wagon with the intention to get back on and 'start again' on Wednesday. Not this time!

Tracking does take a bit of time and I'm not prepared enough. Definitely some work to do there going forward.

Need to charge my Fitbit as aware I'm pretty sedentary but diet first as it's 80:20 down to what you put in your hub first and foremost, right?!

janeljl · 04/04/2024 12:27

9st 6 again for me today which I'm happy with. I was only slightly over my calories yesterday so I'm hoping for an average loss over the week

janeljl · 04/04/2024 13:10

Oops - sorry! Thought I was on the daily weighing thread!

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 04/04/2024 15:22

Wow, great update @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain well done!

LumionaMoonsplash · 04/04/2024 16:09

I missed yesterday's WOW.
SW: 210 lbs (Oct 23)
CW: 180 lbs
Next GW: 154lbs

5lbs away from BMI Overweight rather than Obese.

Having a alcohol free month to make up for the chocolate leftover from Easter. Settled into a fasting cycle which works for me, eating 11am/12pm- 6/7pm. Plan to step the weights again at the gym next week.

I had to pick up some new (smaller) clothes again this week as I only have 2 t shirts that fit. My new jeans I bought in Feb are slightly too big now 🙃. I'm only getting cheap primark/ boohoo clothes whilst I'm cycling down these sizes. Met up with relatives and friends last weekend that I've not seen in ages and they are shocked with how much I've lost.

I'm away for a long weekend in the lakes tomorrow, the last time I went was at my fattest. My knees killed from all the walking that I needed strong painkillers to get through the weekend. I'm looking forward to going back slimmer and fitter.

Down 1lb since Tuesday and finally come on my period which hopefully means a drop in the bloat! Been busy at work this week which means less snacking opportunities which is good :)

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 05/04/2024 08:25

Morning all! @TheRealHousewife I have been on here with you before, I think I dropped off pretty quick though unfortunately.

I'm really struggling with motivation at the minute, just feeling a bit sorry for myself I guess, wishing I'd booked a holiday for some sunshine too. I'm not doing much at all with my time off and I know I'll regret that when I go back to school but can't seem to motivate myself to actually do anything. 😂

I have been to the gym once this week - promised myself I'd go every day but I've just cancelled today's class.

Food wise I'm not too bad, lazy stuff though - cereal, toast, sandwiches.

It's weigh day tomorrow for me and I think the reduction in steps from a work week / the Easter eggs will mean at least a 1lb gain.

I need to give myself a giant kick up the backside but I just can't shake my 'meh'ness right now.

Flowerchild547 · 05/04/2024 08:46

2lbs down from Wednesday’s weigh so was definitely water weight from Easter weekend! I cannot wait to be under 16st! I think the last time I was under that I was pregnant!!
I’m off today with my little so we’re going to have a walk round the lake and see the swans. We’ll likely have to run for cover in the cafe but I’ve already kept cals for a latte if needed!
Happy Friday everyone!

janeljl · 05/04/2024 10:42

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa I also feel a bit crappy at the moment. No energy, lots of stress etc. I've joined a few threads on here for motivation which is helping so far - but it's only been a few days!

If you work in a school you're probably feeling exhausted because it's the holidays so try not to be too hard on yourself. You will find your mojo again ❤️

VallesMarineris · 05/04/2024 11:09

Sometimes when I've had a slide down towards depression, I think I can manage without the support of the thread. That happened in March, and I totally denied to myself that I was bingeing and gaining.

I'm back because I thought I had only gained about three or four pounds, and it would be easy to lose that in a couple of weeks. Wrong, wrong, wrong! Forced myself onto the scales this morning, and I'm twelve pounds heavier at 18st.

16:8, lowish carb, move more, less screen time. Stop driving everywhere. Take more care over online supermarket deliveries.

My immediate goal is to lose what I've regained, then get into the 16something range by the summer holidays.

wiltingflower · 05/04/2024 12:43

Thank you for the new thread @TheRealHousewife ! 💐

I've really enjoyed being part of these threads for the last few months and will be staying on. I'm looking to maintain my weight now, I've reached my goal weight and have a goal weight range to fluctuate within based on water, carb, new foods, exercise either adding or losing weight temporarily. It's so much easier to move now compared to before and I feel so much better too, healthier, I know I'm hitting my water, vitamins and minerals, protein, fruit and veg, and fibre targets pretty much daily now.

I'd like to try something slightly different - increasing my step count further from 10k daily to 20k daily. I need to get back on track with resistance training using dumbbells at home, I've really fallen off with this. I also need to get back into doing flexibility, mobility and balance exercises - maybe try this a couple of times a week, probably best at the weekend.

tiredwitlessagain · 06/04/2024 01:05

Hi I'd like to join please.
I've been counting calories for 4 weeks, sticking to 1500 per day most days. I don't usually eat until after 12 midday.

starting weight 13st
Current weight 12 8
Goal 11 st which will take me into the 'healthy' BMI range at 5ft 6.
I know it's going to be difficult to keep this up so want to keep track here.
Really determined to reach my goal for health reasons as I have high cholesterol and a strong family history of heart disease and dementia and I want to do everything I can to reduce my risk. Also to fit into my clothes again.
I've found focusing on increasing my protein intake makes a big difference to how hungry I feel. And drinking more water.
Making a plan to increase my steps to 10k every day - at the moment mostly not hitting that on my working days.
