⭐️ Open to All ⭐️

Following on from the February thread.

Spring is right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now maintaining around 8st 12lb; although I’d like to see another half stone off 😬

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes

I'm in, I am really struggling with so much going on this term in school, so many weekend events with no down time, lots of meals out planned.

So, here's to some level of success in March!

Hello! Checking in for the end of the week.

These last few months being on these threads is literally the only time in my entire life that my weight has started to go down, instead of continuously creeping up. So I am looking forward to what March brings!

Thanks for the new thread and here's to a better March! What has been up with February? I just gave up after holiday. I'm bloated and in pain this week and just cba but hoping to see a loss by Friday and to be on the ball for March.
Welcome to newcomers and here's to a fantastic month for us all!

Looking forward to joining in this month and hopefully holding myself accountable if I have to do a weekly check in.
If I was really honest with myself I need to lose 5 stone (unlikely to happen in a month) although my initial goal is to have 3 off by mid July so I'm looking to lose 1kg per week. Operation do not be the fattest person in the pool has commenced!

Hello all! Joining in for March and hoping for a better month than February. I will weigh in tomorrow as I forgot this morning and like to do it first thing!

Today has been a weird one as I've been rushed off my feet so have only had coffee and fruit all day. Dinner is sweet potato and black bean fajitas to make up for it!

Report
LemonDrizzle23 · 28/02/2024 19:28

@0rganisedchaos I see we are running a similar operation Grin

Hello! I'm hoping to get serious about weight loss in March. I was making progress about 6 months ago and I really want to get back to it. So far I've managed a calorie deficit 3 days in a row SmileIt's a start....

Thanks for keeping us all on track with a new thread @TheRealHousewife

I finally located my scales this morning and was surprised that I had lost a small amount of weight during a rather chaotic February - 1.2lbs down since the start of the month. Here’s to brighter things in March!

SW 128 lbs
CW 115.8 lbs
TW 114 lbs

@OrganisedChaos and @LemonDrizzle23 it sounds like we are in the same boat.
I have a long history of not doing well with heathy eating, I seem to lose track after 3 or 4 months and then go rogue for a year or two before trying again. (And weighing more than I started each time.)
I'm hoping this thread will help keep me on track.

I've had a notification that I was mentioned by @AwomanfromNorthampton on this thread, so I'm going to guess that OrganisedChaos with an O not a 0 is a previous nickname of mine from many years ago! I have absolutely no idea what the thread is, so can't imagine that I have been mentioned intentionally but thought I'd better check 🤣

Apologies if I’ve missed anyone.

It’s nearly time for the sunshine to appear so I’m trying to get some light weights in to tone my upper arms ☀️😅. The thought of going sleeveless brings me out in a cold sweat 😰. Me thinks I’m a bit too late to make any noticeable difference. 💪

Menu
Meal 1 - Mushroom Omelette & salad.
Meal 2 - Chicken tray bake.
Tea, black coffee & water.

Exercise
Session 1 - Floor exercises.
Session 2 - Hand weights.

Thank you for the new thread! I find these so helpful and it's nice seeing how everyone is doing, knowing I'm not alone.
I'm trying to maintain my weight ATM. I've had some months of actively trying to lose and currently at goal weight. It's difficult staying exactly at my goal weight (I weigh everyday) because of water or salt retention so I'll try to find a goal weight range that I can fluctuate within and feel happy with.

Gosh @TheRealHousewife that really is a shocking article re: UPF isn't it?

We haven't gone totally UPF free but have definitely cut down due to swapping out standard sliced bread for Jason's sourdough, flavoured yoghurt for plain greek yoghurt with fruit and cereal for porridge oats or muesli. Those were our biggest UPF culprits before we started making swaps.

With the fajitas last night, instead of buying sour cream I made a sauce with greek yoghurt, minced garlic and lots of chopped coriander. It was delicious and I'll definitely make it again.

Dinner tonight will be spicy vegetable stir fry and I'm going to make enough to have leftovers for tomorrow too so I'm not tempted to go off track on Friday night!

SW: 15st 1lb
CW: 14st 3lbs
GW: 11st

Only a 3lb loss in February so I need to get a bit stricter with myself. But I'm starting March at a lower weight than I started the previous month so that is something.

Report
TheRealHousewife · 29/02/2024 15:45

@ThreeRingCircus A 3lb loss for a short month is epic 👌👏 I think having the awareness around UPFs and starting with the swaps is really positive. To be fare to ourselves we have been sitting ducks in regards to the marketisation and the advertising of food stuffs and we are all guilty of being far too trusting. I think it’s Bill Gates who is at the moment supporting and pushing forward the development of manufactured ‘meat’ and other foods for mass consumption… I shudder at the thought!

Yes please, I'm in! I'm currently 13st 9lbs and need to get down to 10st (I'm only 5ft 2"!)

I calorie count with my fitness pal and sync with Fitbit. I do Joe Wicks videos a couple of times a week, aim for 10k steps a day and do 2 really hard bootcamps twice a week at the park.

I need to drink more water. My downfall is Chardonnay (then the poor food choices I make after wine Grin)

Good luck everyone, may the force be with you Halo

1st of March tomorrow and I need to get serious again. This week has been better, but still having the odd treat and glass of wine. January saw a good loss for me, but we had 2 weeks of school holidays which meant a sleep in, later walk etc so I was actually doing IF because by the time I got around to eating, it was lunchtime. However, that was easy to do when getting up at 9:30/10 compared to 6:30. Really want to reach 69kg by the end of this month. It will take me out of the overweight range. I had hoped to reach it by Christmas, didn't, then by 1st week of February, again didn't....so fingers crossed.

Happy March! I’ve had a few up and downs in February and my weight keeps fluctuating up and down. I’ve had a pool membership for ages but have added the gym now as I was really restricting my calories in January with the protein shakes during the day and my body is definitely telling me it was wants more food so I’ll start exercising again as wasn’t eating enough to exercise too, the shakes were worth it to get that first five kgs off though. We have also changed our shopping habits to getting a meat pack from the organic butchers and a wonky box - veggies that don’t make the grade for supermarkets here and wow we got so many veggies! So much more affordable in this COL plus making me eat a bigger range of vegetables.

SW 81.5kg
CW 75.4
Change from last weigh in I posted - 0.4kgs
GW 69kg

Lunch - leftover pork chop and green salad
Dinner - Breakfast for tea! Eggs with grilled portobello mushrooms and tomatoes.

Hi, I would love to join in the hope of inspiring myself to lose some weight in March... haven't even managed to brave the scales in months, but I suspect I need to lose around 5 stone Blush which just seems insurmountable, and sends me scurrying off to the biscuit tin...

I have DTs aged 8, an almost full time job (35 hours/ week), a very unhelpful DP and long Covid - I'm struggling to find the time to eat properly, let alone meal plan and batch cook. I did C25K last year and was up to running 5K - very, very slowly - but then Covid hit and now even moving hurts...

@Gemstonebeach we use Musclefood for meat, they're really good - I just wait till there's an offer on that we'd use (lots of chicken, not really mince/ meatballs, for example) - and Oddbox for wonky veg, but that's quite expensive now! It was £20 for a large box when I started, it's now up to £26 Confused which one do you use?
