Following on from the February thread.

Spring is right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now maintaining around 8st 12lb; although I’d like to see another half stone off 😬

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes

Morning all. Thank you @TheRealHousewife for the new thread. Hoping the spring weather makes an appearance soon! Non stop rain here. I am
going to try and check in and reply more often on here. Good luck to everyone!

I have changed my way of eating a lot over the past year and a half ish, and basically eat as little UPF as possible, plenty of food but whole, fresh stuff that I have made myself. I also bake a lot and have a small amount of what I have made. Total loss overall so far: 4st 5lb, total loss this year so far: 23lb. I do also use WW to keep an eye on portion sizes and I use the see how you eat app to really look visually at my diet.

March goal is basically to keep going and keep losing! Good luck to all.

LumionaMoonsplash · 02/03/2024 09:28

Hiya, just checking in 🫡.
Another lb down this morning. Feeling positive about this month. The end of the month is my goal date.
I started my winter health kick/ glow up when the clocks changed in Oct with the goal of a big change by the time the clocks changed again in March.
It's going great so far, almost 2st down and fitter and stronger for 5x gym sessions a week. Using up my beauty hoard, lots of face masks, serums and body lotion, my skin is looking great.

Lostmyunicorn · 02/03/2024 09:33

Hello can I join please? I am starting seriously on Monday (4th). I’m heavier than I ‘ve ever been and I really want to shift some weight, I don’t feel happy in my body at all.

LegoTherapy · 02/03/2024 10:03

Morning all. Weight is up this morning because I'm (tmi) bunged up despite plenty of fibre and water and movicol. If I could go I'd lose about 2lbs I'm sure and my stomach wouldn't be so bloated.

Welcome to the new posters! You'll like it here I'm sure, we are a great bunch imo.

I'm trying as ever to think of healthier meals for dinner that we will a tidally eat. Dd is fed up of soup even though she only has it once a week at most.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. My plan is to drink lots of water, cook something healthy, get good sleep, and get through the laundry.

LegoTherapy · 02/03/2024 16:00

I have a roast vegetable lasagne in the making. It's been so long since I've made one that I can't actually remember the last time I did. It's my ultimate favourite food. Ds is helping me make it in the hope that he will eat it.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 02/03/2024 18:04

Another lb disappeared on the scales today, so pleased my rubbish week hasn't led to some real weight gain, clearly my body has settled down after a few days of healthy living and I'm back to where I was a week ago.

Todays menu

B protein bagel with bacon medallions
L - 2 fish fingers on one slice of bread
D - chicken and rice dish

Exercise -les mills body balance class

Likely to have a couple of glasses of wine tonight, but there are no crisps or chocolate in the house, only some lower cal popcorn.

Going out for lunch tomorrow but have checked the menu and eyeing up some healthier options.

WeirdPookah · 02/03/2024 19:17

Been out to the rainiest muddiest farm park for a birthday party, had a nice time, but chilled and muddy!

Managed to stay on track with food despite feeling strung out after the party.

B: fried eggs, miso mushrooms, 1 slice thin wholemeal
L: vegetable soup, reduced fat soft cheese sandwich
D: schupfnudeln, cabbage, veggie sausage, homemade piccalilli

Doireallywanttodothis · 02/03/2024 20:36

Can I join please?

Messed around last year but did lose 12lb overall. Have lost 6lb so far this year (started 1:1 a week and a half ago). Interim goal for this year is 2st but really need to lose 4st overall to get to a good healthy weight.

We've a family photo shoot booked for the beginning of May, so that is concentrating my mind nicely.

EndlessGuineaPigCycle · 02/03/2024 23:20

Well today I have gone a lot more off plan than I was intending, but I had a lovely day out in London with my eldest DD. I am determined to get back on it tomorrow.

Infracat · 02/03/2024 23:34

Please can I join. I will weigh and start tomorrow. I am overweight, unhealthy and just feel horrible. Im hoping this thread will help me stay accountable.

rainbow616 · 02/03/2024 23:47

SW 13st 5.4
CW 12st 9.4
My goal weight was to be at 12 1/2 stone by the end of Feb but I didn't make it 😩 I'm going away for the Easter weekend and I would love to get down to 12st 4, so fingers crossed!

Good luck everyone! X

2Early4BreakfastIn2024 · 03/03/2024 04:24

Thanks to @TheRealHousewife for the shiny new thread.

A month of emotional eating with a binge yesterday. I’m wide awake now, writing a to do list that includes shopping my freezers instead of the corner shop. Also sprouting. Trying to keep things simple, as the things beyond my control have suddenly overwhelmed me.

IF plus low carb, reducing sugar and sweeteners as much as possible, and losing one pound weekly.

Flowerchild547 · 03/03/2024 08:41

So based on my sneak peek at the scales, I haven’t lost since last weigh day. Disheartened as this is probably one of the most on track weeks I’ve had. Trying to remember that I do tend to maintain every 3 weeks or so and then lose a bit extra the next week. I assume it’s hormone related 🤷‍♀️

It’s a lovely spring day today so we are heading for a walk down the beach. I can’t imagine I’ll get my steps in with slow toddler in tow but it’ll be nice to get some fresh air!

Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend.

whyisitstillsocold · 03/03/2024 09:18

Another sneaky weigh in today. I'm my lowest weight since May 2021 when I started using my renpho digital scales. 1st goal is only 4lbs away, that was my goal for Easter. 2nd goal is then another 8lbs away by end of May. Currently 11lbs down in total But my goodness this has been hard. V low carbs. Minimal alcohol. No sugar where possible. A hell of a lot of running. Lots of veg/fish/meat/salad. I have significantly cut down how many times I eat and my portion sizes. And I bloody love food.
Keep going everyone!

43ontherocksporfavor · 03/03/2024 10:18

Hi all. I’m 52, BMI 24.3. I eat a healthy diet including lots of fruit and veg and seeds etc.
My weight is at least 10lbs up since menopause. Really want to shift it. Going to be super vigilant on not eating anything between meals and watching portion sizes.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 03/03/2024 10:56

Welcome to all the newbies! Well done for keeping on track yesterday @WeirdPookah and stay on track @Flowerchild547 you know your hard work will pay off.

I'm off out for lunch today, so it's a bit of a treat day, but factored into to my nutracheck goals.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

wiltingflower · 03/03/2024 14:57

Managed to keep my weight constantish this week which is fantastic. I've been so depressed midweek onwards that it's been an appetite suppressant to some extent. Maintenance is difficult so I'm trying to eat mostly the same thing each day to trial how it affects my weight.

Breakfast: overnight chia seed pudding or oats with skimmed milk, protein powder, frozen fruit. Tea and morning biscuits. Sometimes another item e.g toast with jam, Belvita type bar.

Lunch: 1 pita bread with harissa, salad, cheese. 1 pita bread with peanut butter and banana slices. Earl grey tea.

After-work: hummus, carrots, cucumber, tomatoes, tea.

Dinner: family dinner, quite variable really but trying to portion it out correctly.

Exercise: none- it's been a busy week at work and home and I felt like my time would be better spent on other things/ felt too guilty to spend it on myself for exercise. Really need to get back into it from next week onwards before I end up leaving it too long and lose whatever fitness I have ATM. Also haven't done weights since getting COVID in February so really need to get back into this. My steps are variable between 5 - 7k at the moment, I'd like to hit 10k again.

Infracat · 03/03/2024 17:17

Starting today.
CW/SW 11st 8lb
TW 10st 10lb

43ontherocksporfavor · 03/03/2024 18:18

Today we had a roast dinner out for an early MIL Mothers’ Day treat.
B: toasted pumpernickel (2 small slices) with mashed avocado (half a small hass) and a sprinkle of pumpkin seeds. Tea with skimmed milk.
L/D: roast chicken , broccoli, carrots and leeks. Small square of stuffing and a Yorkshire. 1 small potato and gave other two to DH as I was genuinely full. 1 glass of white wine. Lots of water. Will have an apple in a bit then that’s it.

Rewis · 03/03/2024 21:11

Here I am again. Time to get my shit together. I was doing quite ok but saw no reuslts so got a but sad about that. But time to get a boost. The westher has been shit and it has caused me not to want to go outside. I don't mind a bit of rain or a negative celcius. But it has genuinly been so slippery that walking is unpleasant when feeling de-motivated (i'm not jokin. had to sit down on my ass to go down a hill). Now the worst is over time to hit the gym and go for a walks.

I came back from holiday. Between getting off the plane and the coach leaving I had about 7minutes. I ran. I made it to the bus but I felt rubish. I shouldn't be that out of breath from 7min run. Also my bf weight the same as me and he is 6'5 and it did not look cute in pics.

I don't like calorie counting but I am considering it. I also did read the article on UPF but I'm getting some ready made soup in to help with daytime lunch situation.

Current wight: 97kg
Goal weight I: 90kg

Goals:
Excercise min20min daily
Participate more in football training (I coach but I could easily up my participation)
No treats, alcohol or take out by myself
Eat breakfast and have a cuppa
Melatonin only when needed
Energy drink only when needed
Drink water

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 03/03/2024 21:21

Well todays eating did not go to plan, we were out all afternoon on so had planned for eating at a restaurant on the way home. I had been through the menu and picked out a meal that met my calories. Get to the restaurant and it's heaving, but I'd planned for that and had a back up restaurant and meal, so off we go, get there and it's also rammed full, so we ended up at Burger King and eating about 2000 calories in one meal 😫

EndlessGuineaPigCycle · 03/03/2024 22:20

@FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain sounds frustrating, fresh new week tomorrow though.

After going way off track yesterday on a very enjoyable day out with my eldest DD, I successfully reined it in today. I went out for dinner with friends, had a lovely time whilst managing to choose a healthy main and resisting dessert! 💪

EndlessGuineaPigCycle · 04/03/2024 09:05

Morning all, Happy Monday!

Menu today
B Porridge with flax seeds and blueberries
L Parmigiana, protein yoghurt
D Lentil bake and crispy kale
S Cashews, apple, Highlights

ChickenChipsandBeans · 04/03/2024 09:08

Weighed this morning and no loss. Didn't get out for my morning walk as my DH has brought me to the boatyard to clean our boat. The season isn't far away and they are replacing the top floor. My job today is sweeping all the sawdust left from the carpenter yesterday. Just finished the bulk of it and now another man has arrived to do further sanding so everywhere I just cleaned is now covered by sanding dust.😐At least it's physically active work. Will hopefully walk this evening.

TheRealHousewife · 04/03/2024 09:14
