Following on from the February thread.

Spring is right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now maintaining around 8st 12lb; although I’d like to see another half stone off 😬

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes

Good morning to everyone doing WOW 👋

A good start to March for me - the holiday at the end is focusing my mind I think!

0.8kg off for me this week, which takes me basically to my 5% goal. I was last this weight in September 2020. Time for a new goal! 10% off will be the next one.

SW: 97.5
CW: 92.8
10%: 88

Couple of meals out this week planned, but otherwise shouldn't be too bad food wise. Focusing on IF snd walking this week, as the sun is allegedly going to make an appearance!

ImALittlePea · 06/03/2024 08:06

Good luck to WoWers this week. And welcome new posters!

My resolve hasn't gone anywhere but it hasn't materialised in action yet 😬 however that changes today. I may well not weigh Friday, silly I know as I need to be accountable, but I have a plan for the next ten days so depending how that kick starts I'll weigh at some point.

Plan today:
Lunch - chicken and veg soup
Dinner - grilled Cajun chicken, sweet potato, lots of veg

Expecting my shift to be cancelled (again 🙄) tonight, but have got an exercise class lined up if that's the case. So either way I'll be moving tonight!

NothingTraLaLa · 06/03/2024 08:50

Well done on hitting target @LemonDrizzle23

I’m up 2lbs since the start of the month. I’ve been full of cold, though, which has led to poor food choices and lots of fat and carbs. I expect (hope) the bloat will come off once I start eating normally again.

SW 128 lbs
CW 117.8 lbs
TW 114 lbs

cwanne · 06/03/2024 09:01

I'm getting there. I'm hoping to get under 80kg soon. I've been hopping up and down in the 80s for the last couple of years. This time I am determined to get into the 70s. Then onwards to a healthy weight Smile

Cross posted.

Well done @cwanne 👍

For those who’ve gained a smidge; try not to stress about it as weight naturally fluctuates. I get the disappointment but try not to worry. If you carry on you’ll get there ❤️

Apologies, I haven't had time to rtwt but will do when I can.

I'm struggling this week, big time. Been SO good from when i started at end of Jan till now. 10lbs off and I can feel it. The weekend was hard emotionally as it was a particularly painful anniversary. I brought a tub of hummus and rice crackers and ate the whole lot with a bottle of wine. Since then, I have been out of control food wise. In the office Tuesday and I just wanted to go home so I could get food/anything to eat. I was totally in the right mind space and not even bothered by food/crap/junk. Over night that has gone out the window.

I'm now in sabotaging mood. I have worked so very hard to get to where I am diet/weight wise. Due to age, the weight does not come off easily what so ever. I have collectively slogged hours at the gym over the last 6 weeks.

How can I stop myself feeling like this ?

Nothing eaten today, yet ... I am trying, bloody trying to not pick/scoff/binge.

I have a holiday planned in May and the dieting all leads up to that. I have never been more determine to lose the weight for a holiday, but the last few days my mind is turning against me.

0rganisedchaos · 06/03/2024 09:22

Hi everyone hope your first week has gone well. I lost 0.8kg so not quite the full 1 I was aiming for but we soldier on. I am doing 5:2 diet and monitoring my intake on my non fasting days with the weight watchers app so that I don't go wild.

SW 102.3
CW 101.5
GW1 - 90 by May 15

Today is a fasting day so it'll be astronaut food from the new you plan 😭

whyisitstillsocold · 06/03/2024 09:36

@0rganisedchaos how will you manage fasting today ? what will you do if you feel hungry ? I should really be doing a fasting day today and would welcome any tips. TIA

0rganisedchaos · 06/03/2024 11:55

@whyisitstillsocold I use the New You or Lighter life meal packs, you are allowed 4 a day although I find them quite small so I tend to eat 2 at lunch and then 2 at dinner time which still keeps me below 500 calories. I would say the hardest part of my day is the morning and trying to push lunch back a little later than usual so that I don't feel hungry and want to pick later on at night.
It was much easier when I done it about 4 years ago as I was at work so didn't have all day to eat but now I'm off on mat leave I'm popping the baby in the pram and walking as many miles as I can in the opposite direction from my kitchen 🥴😅

LumionaMoonsplash · 06/03/2024 12:07

Very pleased with the scales today, Feb was an odd anomaly.

(Oct 2023) SW: 15st
Today CW: 13st 1lb

So close to 2st loss 😊Currently 12.7kg down for those weighing in kg.

I still don't have a goal weight in mind, I haven't been below 12st7 in the last 20yrs. I'm taking each half stone as I go and seeing how I feel. I've not been a size 12 since I was 15yrs old so I'd love to see how a size 10/12 looks on me.

SMG1992 · 06/03/2024 13:08

Hi All,
im a bit late in the month but would like to join!
im 12 weeks postpartum and am around 2.5 stone up!!
current weight sitting at 198.5lb
I’d like to get to 168lb initially and then ideally 161lb

im back running 5K 3 times a week (bloody hard work with the extra weight!) and I go to a mum & baby spin class along with plenty of walking I’m happy with how active I am. I’d like to add some Pilates for core strength

My issue is my diet at the moment. I’m overeating and I’m not making healthy choices.
hopefully this group will give me some accountability.

0rganisedchaos · 06/03/2024 13:11

@whyisitstillsocold sorry just read your pp as well regarding how your feeling today and what your goal is I think we have quite similar goals although my holiday/friends wedding isn't until July I have a particular dress I want to wear it's beautiful and they don't have it in my current size which is probably just as well due to the colours it would resemble the parachute you used to have to play with in primary school p.e. When I'm having a wobble I've been going on and looking at that dress and also looking at midi fashion inspo on tiktok and insta, there's absolutely no point in me looking at super slim people wearing clothes because I can't relate and don't see it as a goal that's currently or potentially ever achievable. However when I look at someone a size 12/14 who's dressed lovely in something I like I know that's within my reach and that's what I aim for. I take a screenshot of the outfit if it's really taken my fancy and try and motivate myself that in 2/3 months time that's the outfit I'm aiming to be in feeling confident and comfortable.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 06/03/2024 14:37

Hi everyone, 1lb loss for me this week, so I am happy with that. 6 1/2 lbs away from my 10st target. It's feeling much more achievable!

43ontherocksporfavor · 06/03/2024 17:04

Thanks op. Makes me think I must be underestimating my cals if what you are eating is 1300!!

WeirdPookah · 06/03/2024 20:20

Well, I managed to not eat anything late last night waiting up until school texted they were nearly back and I could get my daughter. Got to be around midnight, but then too wired to sleep. Running on fumes today and been feeling like grabbing snacks .

B: kidney bean burrito
L: quorn southern bites, broccoli
D: ratatouille with beans on seeded toast
few cabanossi mini's, kiwi, cereal bar

weighing in on Friday as I prefer. Not expecting great results after Chinese food at weekend.

43ontherocksporfavor · 06/03/2024 20:41

B: pumpernickel toasted with half a small an avocado mashed on top. Tea and espresso.
L: leafy salad with a small amount of smoked mackerel, an apple
lots of water.
D: lean beef chilli, brown rice, satsuma
2 cups of tea with skimmed milk in evening

Rewis · 07/03/2024 07:01

Week 1 of c25k finished. I need to find an alternative route cause the surface is too hard and too many people. The problem is that the whole purpose of running is that I can leave from my front door without having to go anywhere.

I also discovered today that if you go to bed early, you get more sleep before work. who knew! Went for a run this morning. Not gonna make this into a habit but it wasn't horrendous 😁

LegoTherapy · 07/03/2024 07:10

Morning all. I've been feeling disheartened but realised that the oestrogen stuff I'm retaking made me bloat and retain water when I first went on it before. I've not been taking it for about a month and going back on it has seen my weight go up and my stomach really bloated. A loss on the scales today though and I'm really hoping to get below 55kg soon.
I'm walking lots and am on 32 miles so far this week.
Hope everyone has a great day. Don't forget your 🍾 because your body needs it to flush out the fat.

NothingTraLaLa · 07/03/2024 07:46

Pleased to report an overnight loss of 1.4 lbs! Amazing how it can fluctuate!

MrsPepperpotty · 07/03/2024 09:15

Hi all 👋, sorry I dropped off the thread for the last couple of weeks due being super busy (both at work and socially). I don't seem to have lost any weight either, but at least I have maintained rather than gained! Not much planned this weekend, so hopefully I can work towards a loss at the next WoW.

Thanks op. Makes me think I must be underestimating my cals if what you are eating is 1300!!

Some days are under 1200 and some days over. I weight most items and watch my portion control. Because I eat fat, good protein, plenty of fibre and try to keep hydrated I find I'm rarely hungry and rarely 'snack'.

Hi, I would like to join if that's ok.

I'm 43, mum of 4 and had brilliant success with Fast800 about 18 months ago. I maintained for nearly a year and then things got a bit difficult at home and I comfort ate my way back to 13st. I've been looking back at pictures of when I did Fast800 before and what really strikes me is not just how slim I looked but how well too. My skin was so much better and I looked really healthy. So I bit the bullet and started Fast800 again on the 19th of Feb. I'm already down 9 lbs and feeling a lot better. I'm working very hard to plan meals and cut out ultra processed food. I want this to be a change for life this time and plan to continue eating this way (but with more cals) for the rest of my life.

My plan is to continue Fast800 for another 3 weeks - hoping to be a stone down by then. Then two weeks off for Easter hols (not counting cals but hopefully not going crazy). Then I think I will move on to a modified Fast800 - 4 days of 800 cals and 3 days of not counting but sticking to lowish carb Med diet. Hoping to be at my goal of 10st 7lb by July when I got to France for two weeks. I'm 5 ft 8 so that's a good weight for me.

SW: 13st (BMI 27.6)
CW: 12st 5 lb (BMI 26.3)
GW: 10 st 7 lb (BMI 22.3)

Mini Goal: Lose 1 stone by Easter

I love seeing what people eat so here's yesterday's menu. I try not to eat breakfast until 10/11 ish to get a 16 hr fast in....

B: Homemade beetroot choc brownie with a spoon of full fat Greek Yogurt and Raspberries - 220
L: Rocket and chopped courgette with smoked salmon, balsamic and mustard dressing - 220
D: Omlette - 2 eggs plus some egg whites, smoked ham, eat lean cheese and a massive pile of cauliflower done in the air fryer - 310
S: Protein yogurt - 120

WeirdPookah · 07/03/2024 10:49

Phew, World Book Day costume and hair doing rush before school, took me forever to do a super elaborate style to be Sybil Hallow for my youngest daughter.

Been for a short walk as I forgot my sunglasses and already have a hormonal headache brewing, so wasn't going to make it worse. Will walk again at school pick up time to "top up" my minutes for the day.

B: kidney bean burrito
L: vegetable chickpea curry, microwaved poppadom's
D: roast vegetables, salmon
fibre muffin bar (unimpressive, warmed is better)

katmarie · 07/03/2024 11:48

Morning, I'm hoping I can join in here?
I've been losing weight since last September, but have got stuck recently and I'm hoping a reset will help me get moving again.

SW was 87.5kg
CW is 77.3kg
GW is currently 70kg

I'm 5ft 2in, and my BMI is 30.6. I have been stuck around 77kg for the last three weeks or so, but before that I was doing great with a low carb, no alcohol, no eating crap approach. I'm still eating the same way but the weight isn't coming off any more, so I need to make a change, but I'm not sure what!

I'm also struggling with getting exercise. My kids (4 and 6 years old) school run is the only exercise I get really and it's only a five minute walk each way. I WFH, start as soon as I get back from the school run, and I get 30 minutes for lunch, otherwise I am at my desk all day. Then kids get home, dinner, bedtime, and all that, and suddenly it's 9pm and I'm shattered. I know I need to exercise but I just can't seem to do it during the day.

My current plan is to try and fit something in after the kids breakfast when they are getting ready/playing before we go to school, so if anyone has any tips for good 10 minute video type workouts I can follow at home, I would be very grateful! No doubt the kids will think it's hilarious, maybe they can join in haha.
