Following on from the February thread.

Spring is right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now maintaining around 8st 12lb; although I’d like to see another half stone off 😬

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes

We went out for lunch yesterday, as a Mothers Day meal with my MIL, so I absolutely ate too much.
Saturday was ok, so only 1 day out of the week was off plan.

Today, back on things. Been shopping and double checking all sorts of things I need to organise for a choir trip tomorrow, so much going on!

B: black bean burrito
L: avocado on toast with eggs, balsamic tomatoes
D: mango almond korma with chicken, cauliflower.

CumbrianExile · 04/03/2024 14:51

Afternoon all.

I'm springing onto the march board with a 0.8lb loss.

SW 15 8
CW 15 7.4 (I had gained from my starting weight).

Fairly pleased with that as it is in the right direction. I'm working today which is unusual, so no long walk today but I did go swimming for the first time in 6 weeks. Prior to that my swims were very intermittent since November, so I set a target of 20 lengths. And I managed 24 before it got too busy. Was pleased with that. Planning to go again tomorrow and get the swim mojo back.

Also upped the water intake again (which had also lapsed). I think seeing some of that yellow stuff in the sky really helps with the motivation!

maybein2022 · 04/03/2024 15:06

Hi all, happy Monday. Finally some ☀️ where I am!

Hope everyone had a good weekend- I meant to pop on here but it was busy.

Weigh in this morning, -1lb which I am pleased with as last week was a big loss. Away this weekend so may possibly gain next Monday but will do my best not to!

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 04/03/2024 19:50

Does anyone else feel ravenous when you have a cold?

I honestly feel like I could eat non-stop and still feel hungry, currently trying to ignore my rumbling belly and watering mouth.

rainbow616 · 04/03/2024 20:46

I have a cold at the min and I'm so hungry! I got home and had a sausage roll an hour and a half before my tea 😳🙄🤦‍♀️ I hadn't eaten too much before that though and I've got my steps in so hopefully that helps 🤣🤣

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 04/03/2024 20:48

Just had a couple of boiled eggs, feel like I've got hollow legs though and daydreaming about fried bread.

LumionaMoonsplash · 05/03/2024 06:33

Had such a busy day yesterday I didn't get chance to eat until 6pm. The scales have blessed me this morning with a 2lb loss this week. Back to where I was in Nov 2020.

2Early4BreakfastIn2024 · 05/03/2024 06:50

I planned yesterday's food on Sunday, and got some fish, turkey, and chicken out the freezer instead of just muddling by with a delivery. That's my evening meal sorted for a few days.

I also avoided the corner shop, mainly because a warning light came on in my car and I'm not taking it out till it's sorted. I spent half an hour tidying the front garden in the sun, and felt much better for it.

Two scrambled eggs, one potato scone.

Two ryvitas with flora and blue cheese.

Oatbran porridge and single cream.
Two TablespooNs of chicken curry with mayo and lettuce wrap.

Lost one pound of binge gain.

TheRealHousewife · 05/03/2024 08:44

Good Morning All

That's great @Rewis well done 👏

@2Early4BreakfastIn2024 Being outside pottering in the garden especially when the sun is shining is so beneficial 👍. Well done on swerving the corner shop !

@rainbow616 i hope you feel better soon! Colds are awful!

I might have missed some posters. Sorry. I'm on my phone and unable to scroll any further back.

Menu
Meal 1 - Homemade vegetable & bean soup.
Meal 2 - Mushroom omelette & salad. Homemade dressing.
Tea, black coffee with inulin, water & acv

Having a cold makes me starving too! as does being tired! Tiredness is possibly my worse enemy... Sorry about your germs @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain and @rainbow616

My weight loss was (very politely) noticed today for the first time by someone other than DH 🙌🏻 was having a health / fitness chat with a school mum friend, and she asked if I'd lost weight as she thought my face looked slimmer. I thought it did... but hadn't realised it was actually noticeable. She said our chat inspired her to get cracking with her own weight loss. So that was a nice exchange!

Hopefully for WOW tomorrow.

WeirdPookah · 05/03/2024 13:09

I have a LONG day today, up at 5.45am, to be at school by 7am for choir event. Will be collecting my child around midnight!!!!

Been for a 3 mile walk, saw my favourite dog friends for a fuss.

Worried I'm going to be starving having to stay up so late, already had a snack this morning as I was so hungry getting up and eating so early.

B: black bean burrito
L: parsnip, courgette, bean soup, couple of flatbread crackers
D: German lentil veggie sausage stew, seeded bread

43ontherocksporfavor · 05/03/2024 16:15

B: 30g oats with skimmed milk and frozen blueberries and raspberries and sprinkle of chia seeds and cinnamon. Tea, espresso.
L: saiad of leaves,2 dolmades, leftover roasted aubergine and pepper, carrot sticks and 1tbsp hummus. One apple, water all day.
D: baked Salomon fillet with stirfry veg and small amount of rice noodles.

43ontherocksporfavor · 05/03/2024 16:18

OP how many calories are you getting a day? Seems less than 1000.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 05/03/2024 17:47

Today's menu

B - yoghurt, berries, chia seeds, cheese, slice of seeded toast
L - homemade soup, falafels, humous, pear
D - Thai noodles with veg and fish

Snack - sliver of cake in the office.

No exercise today as off to the theatre, won't have snacks but maybe a glass of wine!

Gemstonebeach · 05/03/2024 18:33

I am not going to weigh in this week as I have been making very poor food choices since I got back on the junk when I had COVID. Hoping this is just a blip and will be back on track next week.

Doireallywanttodothis · 05/03/2024 19:49

2.4lb off this week :-)
Jazzercise this morning.
Going strong!

Planning a day off for Mother's Day on Sunday though.

LegoTherapy · 05/03/2024 23:09

No chance of a loss this week because I've been focusing on eating better meals rather than yogurt or really light things. My choices have been good and I've had small portions but I'm so bloated. Proper food doesn't seem to agree with me. If I ate porridge, yogurt, berries, white bread (in moderation) and butternut squash or similar light soups all the time I'd be ok but I'm really trying to eat a wider variety of foods and be healthier. Maybe my digestive system will calm down in a few days. I'll be getting out the fart tea tomorrow. Of course it might be the ice lolly addiction I've had the past week...
I'm going to try cherry Bakewell porridge as a change to my fuck ton of golden syrup porridge. I've made morello cherry compote and have ground almonds and thought I'd add that to my porridge instead. I've also bought golden linseeds to add to porridge along with the usual chia.
22 miles walked over yesterday and today just doing my usual stuff.

Must catch up on the thread.

We've got lots of new posters so a big welcome to you all!

Flowerchild547 · 06/03/2024 06:50

Welcome new posters!
Happy weigh day and well done to those who have lost already today.
@LegoTherapy that cherry bakewell porridge sounds delicious!! What a great idea!!

SW: 17st 10
CW: 16st 5
Loss this week: 1lb
Total Loss: 1st 5

PatienceOfEngels · 06/03/2024 07:05

WoW -0.4kg this week (though still +1.1kg on beginning of February)

SW 77kg (beginning October 23)
CW 69.8kg
GW 68kg

This weekend was not a good start to March - lots (and I mean lots!) of crisps, fizzy drinks, homemade cake (and I can't ever stop at just one piece of cake) and too much time inside, on the sofa. I can feel the difference in my body - bloated and tired.

Made my first steps to turning it around yesterday - no evening eating, resisting junk food when I'm alone in the house, and some gentle movement (short bike ride for errands and evening walk round the block with DC2 in the evening).

I was soooo hungry in the morning (that's what too much UPF does for you I guess!) but managed to get through the day with only 2 food slips (cup of chocolate milk after lunch and a chunk of cheese late afternoon).

-Boiled egg and rye toast for breakfast
-pears for morning snack
-spaghetti with mushrooms and (homemade) carbonara sauce
-white fish with potato bake, carrots, broccoli

Today!
-boiled egg, rye toast, coffee
-fruit for morning snack
-rice with beans and pork belly
-greek yoghurt, honey
-tomato soup with bread

Full day teaching ahead of me and DH is out tonight so not much chance for a walk except school drop off (500m there and back!) Will try and get some stretching in during the day.

Re-listening to the van Tulken podcast on UPF to keep me on the straight and narrow!

Rewis · 06/03/2024 07:05

SW Mar 3: 97kg
CW: 95.7kg

This isn't really comparable cause starting weight was evening and this was morning. But win is a win 😅
