Hi again! I am definitely in this month. About 6lb to lose (despite my 2nd July holiday being very unlikely) but in any case I am aiming for some better consistency with my diet (exercise consistency is going well).

Hi everyone Smile

EndlessUserName · 01/06/2020 15:22

Thanks for the new thread!

Hello everyone!

Here were my aims last month. I think I managed to stick to all of them last month so hoping I can continue that this month

Portion control - B, L and D
Fruit for pudding only, no baking
5+ fruit and veg a day
Snacking - fruit only
No secret eating
Chocolate only with DP in evening

My waist size decreased again, it was 75cm this morning which I'm so pleased about!

We had an unaccounted for takeaway last night so I'm eating very strictly today and will either weigh in officially tomorrow or maybe do another strict day and weigh in Wednesday, will see what the scales say.

My aim is to carry on losing, I have about 9lb or so to go. I had said I'd like to get to 9st 4 which would be great, but 9st would be even better so that I can have a bit of a weight range instead to aim to stay within. Just need to keep with it for a while, will build in a maintenance week or so sometime too

Good luck everyone!

EndlessUserName · 01/06/2020 15:23

I've been doing loads of exercise too. Walking when it's not too hot and been following pop sugar videos most mornings too, I love them! They have a new bit called Active which is free for now, and it has 7,14,21 day challenges for all sorts of different things, it's very motivating and I like being 'told' each day which video I need to do!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 01/06/2020 15:37

Well done you guys.
I aim to continue losing a few lbs. It would be nice if I could continue learning to run but no pressure. If it screws up my shins again I'll just go back to walking.

I'm struggling a bit today, emotionally anyway. I think it's because I had a bit less sleep last night so I'm in a bit of a bad mood plus I'm bored and a bit annoyed at my random 1lb increase so all I want to do is snack. Insert grumpy face here

B: Yoghurt
L: Spanish chicken stew
D: Huevos Rotos
S: I've had a couple of squares of chocolate so far and a packet of skips. Have enough calories for a couple of French fancies which I'll try to save for later.

Am planning a video chat with friends later which I hope will help with my mood and a walk this evening as usual.

can I join? I put on just over 1st in lockdown and it needs to go before I RIP the seams on all my clothes!

Porpoises · 01/06/2020 17:48

Hi all, I've not been checking in for the last month, but have gone up a kilo, so need to get back on track. Think it was mostly due to a very large, very rich birthday cake, which to be fair was excellent!

Last months aims:

  • some form of at-least-slightly-out-of-breath exercise each day: Not uniformly through the month, but have been managing it recently - exercise tea breaks :)
  • keep up with the gardening: this is going well
  • aim to stay at 70kg or lower, and be more toned: nah, back up to 71kg and I don't think it's muscle

So this month's aims:

  • limit sugar back down - at most a small snack each day, or a larger snack in between sugar free days.
  • daily cardio or bodyweight exercise, and a tiring amount of exercise twice a week.
  • weigh and post here once a week to stay on track.
  • back to 70kg by the end of the month.

Well done @stopfundinghate sounds like you're doing brilliantly.

Hangoverstruggles · 01/06/2020 18:45

Thanks for the new thread @Monstera

June goals are more of the same. It's working for me at the moment, but I suspect will get harder as I approach my goal weight.

Current weight 10st 6. I'm 5'8 and aiming to lose 4lb in June to hit my 1 stone loss mark.

Goals -

  • 5k jog 3x a week
  • 1200 cals 5 days a week
  • 1700 on the other two days
  • Less snacking, better meals (this is a new goal! Keep wasting calories on the kids sweets)

We can do this!

Octopus37 · 01/06/2020 18:52

Monstera, I prefer your thread title to mine so will be posting on here. Weighed 9st1.5 this morning, aiming for 8st13.75. Exchange has finally happened so we are moving on 11th June, lots to do. Good luck everyone, lovely to see some new joiners and returners.

TheHoneyBadger · 01/06/2020 19:31

Ooh goals. Mine are...

Continue to increase activity and use at least 2100 calories per day as measured by fit bit.

Not buy beer except 1 bottle per online shop!

Aim for a couple of fasting days and a few eating but really healthily days each week and have at least a 14hr fasting period in each 24hrs

Lose more weight

Not get depressed/stressed/self destructive when stalled or fluctuating.

Have done quite well today. It’s an eating day today. I broke my fast at 4pm (after getting distracted from eating by frantically rearranging furniture) with some nuts. Had smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and toast for my meal. Will make a veggie stew tomorrow.

Might have kiwi fruit for a snack in a while after I’ve taken the dog for a decent walk and have a hot toddy at bedtime.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 01/06/2020 19:33

Sorry I didn't realise there was another thread already

Octopus37 · 01/06/2020 20:39

No worries, there's a couple of people on the other thread, will send them over here.

lockdownalli · 01/06/2020 21:42

Helloooo! I was on the other thread - we were quite lonely over there.

I have been on previous threads using different names and had lost well using 16:8 but the first six ten weeks of lockdown I consumed way too much Cake and Wine and finally weighed myself at 12:13. I am five foot five so that put me into obese territory.

As I am WFH rather than my usual commuting all over the place I decided to try Alli (the tablet that makes you poop your fat out)

So I have lost 8lbs in the first week which has absolutely blown all my expectations.

I may well be complaning soon if I plateau or shit the bed Grin

Hangoverstruggles · 01/06/2020 23:30

Sorry @octopus I hadn't seen you'd started a thread. Good news re house exchange!

Well done @honey on your good day.

Welcome @lockdownAlli

blubberball · 02/06/2020 04:16

Hello! Well done every one! Keep going!

I weigh myself every 2 weeks, and today I am 3lbs down from my last weigh in. Smile I am really pleased about that, as I have been stuck for quite a few weeks. I have lost 25lbs since New year.

The past 2 weeks I have made switches to low sugar. I check the labels to make sure that it's below 10% sugar. I am a life long chocoholic, so I have switched to low sugar versions.

I have discovered that Morrisons low sugar cookie dough ice cream is nicer than the halo one.

I have also discovered Jim jams low sugar chocolate hazelnut spread. It has 85% less sugar than Nutella. I like to add it to smoothies, to make things chocolatey.

I have also been intermittent fasting, and have worked my way towards 23:1. I am comfortable here for now, but I would like to work my way back to 16:8.

I have also been trying Chloe Ting work outs on YouTube. I hate running, or going to the gym (not that we can at the moment), so this suits me perfectly. Working out at home, for free, with no equipment needed.

Good luck everyone!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 02/06/2020 08:11

Congratulations @Blubberball and excellent finds there! I'm a sugar fiend too and Halo Top has been a godsend for me. Not sure that Nutella is replaceable but I appreciate your efforts Wink Grin

I have fluctuated back down to 10 stone 7 thankfully. I need to stop weighing myself every day or near enough. I can't cope with the variation! Let's see if I can hold off until Saturday as I used to. I'm feeling better in myself today, slept better. Let's hope that makes for an easier day than yesterday, mood wise.

Welcome newbies!

Good luck @Octopus37 I hope it all goes well. Must be nice to be have a date now

Well done everyone on all your progress so far!

I just had a peek at the other thread and couldn't agree more - this is such a lovely supportive place, 6 months already! I'm so glad to have found you all and finally have people who want to hear me talk about what I eat everyday Grin

Yesterday I was pleased and managed to remain super strict, bringing my weight back to 9st 10 this morning. It was 9st 9½ before the takeaway so I'm doing another strict day today and then will go back to normal - I worked out the calories / syns in the Chinese and it was pretty shocking!!

Yesterday's menu
B - granola, yog, berries
L - tomato soup, 30g cheese
D - spicy salmon, rice, veg

Today
B - same!
L - same!
D - might as well be the same! Cod with Mediterranean veg, maybe with some pasta or rice or something? I can't decide what to put with it so maybe I will just have the veg, will see how I feel later!

EndlessUserName · 02/06/2020 08:23

@MonsteraCheeseplant so glad you're feeling better. I was low yesterday too. Up and down days. Let's make today a good one :)

Re- Nutella. The meridian cocoa spread I think is sugar free and is quite nice! (Very nutty) but I'm not a big fan of Nutella in the first place so may not be a fair comparison

EndlessUserName · 02/06/2020 08:24

@TheHoneyBadger

EndlessUserName · 02/06/2020 08:25

Oops it deleted what I said! I said I like the sound of your meals it all sounds lovely and healthy, and it's nice to hear how positive you're feeling :)

MonsteraCheeseplant · 02/06/2020 08:30

I'm booked in to give blood on Thursday. For altruistic reasons obviously. Did you know that donating blood burns you 650 calories? Bonus Grin

OP posts:
TheHoundsofLove · 02/06/2020 08:57

That's very good of you Monstera ! Grin
Right, I am signing in for June and feel that this is definitely going to be THE month where I achieve great things. With that in mind, I'm going to focus on inch loss rather than weight loss this month as if I could lose another 1.5 inches from my waist and get to 8 stone something I would be happy! So, my plan is:
16:8
Keep running as normal but add in 30 day Shred
Minimal alcohol and sugar - will allow myself a glass of wine or piece of cake if I really want it...but not both!
Add more veg and salad into meals
Reduce carbs in general
Drink more water and less caffeine

...and will hopefully emerge into July with a 27 inch waist! Grin

TheHoneyBadger · 02/06/2020 09:37

Morning all. monstera I’m so glad you mentioned giving blood. I was vaguely aware I had an appointment coming up but it turns out it’s today.

Last time I couldn’t give because my iron was low so I’ve been having a spatone for a couple of days to try and boost it.

Been out for a good walk with the dog to get my metabolism going and was going to fast but hadn’t thought of giving blood. I’ll have some eggs before I go.

hate my diet is a bit unhealthy sounding sometimes because I have a bowel condition that means I can’t eat much fruit and veg when it’s bad. I’m also incredibly lazy in the kitchen.

Often in awe of reading all the meals people cook and the energy they put into making nice food on here.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 02/06/2020 10:21

@TheHoneyBadger - sounds like fate! Are you planning to eat something after donating blood?

OP posts:
TheHoneyBadger · 02/06/2020 11:38

They don’t let you out until they’ve seen you eat and drink monster Grin

I’m prone to going very pale and needing to have my chair inverted afterwards and they tell the snack lady to make sure I eat and sit for a while. I tend to feel normal but look dreadful apparently. I live with very low blood pressure so am used to functioning through the room spinning when I stand up

MonsteraCheeseplant · 02/06/2020 11:49

Yeah I thought so. I don't want to eat a random biscuit really. Maybe I'll take some fruit with me.
