Hi everyone, can I join please...this is a grest thread and love seeing all the meal ideas! I am 5ft10 and currently at 13st12, down from 14st9. I've been calorie counting using MFP and trying to stick to 1600 cals a day but I always have one day a week when I blow it. I've also been running or doing Les Mills 5 days a week and feeling much fitter. I don't eat my exercise calories back so I think that's really hoping. My goal is another 3lbs off to make it a stone but would like to get down to 13stone and then see how I feel.

Hangoverstruggles · 07/06/2020 11:30

Welcome @Givemestrengthorgin sounds like you're on it! Well done!

@RaraRachael I'm sorry, it's so disappointing when you don't get the results you're expecting. Are you due your period? Drinking lots of water? The only thing that works for me is to be really strict on measuring everything I eat. I worked out that I can have 1700 cals to stay the same using a tdee calculator (based on 5'8 and sedentary lifestyle!)

I am to eat 1200 which means I should lose 1lb a week because 1lb is 3500 calorie deficit to what I need to stay the same. I then exercise to account for days when I go over the 1200 (try to keep this to once or twice a week, and even then don't go for a full blow out)

It's only really truly understanding what I'm eating and what my body actually needs that I've got into the groove.

Sorry if you already know all of this! Could it be any medication side affects? Eating kids tea without thinking? (I definitely do this and have to add chicken dippers to MFP!)

I'm sure you'll get there. Keep going!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 07/06/2020 11:42

Sorry to hear that Rara. I did exactly the same as what Hangover describes and do recommend it. It takes the guess work out.

Someone consistently recommends watching Jordan Syatt on YouTube and I second that too, a really down to earth, realistic mind set and very informative.

Hello all. Hope we're all ok
I weighed this morning after being a little bit naughty last night. Decided today's result would be preferable to tomorrow's!
Lost 3lb so am happy and motivated to carry on.
I always reckon my 34GG boobs weigh at least half a stone. Pls god no one tell me it's less. Grin
Hope everyone has a good day.

Porpoises · 07/06/2020 12:41

Exactly the same weight as last week. Which is actually not bad considering the what I ate and how little I exercised. Better next week.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 07/06/2020 13:00

@poorbuthappy Have you ever been tempted to weigh them? I'm tempted but can't let DH see or know that i'm doing it! Grin

@RaraRachael Here's the TDEE calculator I use. A personal trainer once told me that what we look like is 80% about what we eat and 20% about the exercise we do...You say the last time you did this you lost 1lb a week - was it long ago? Just thinking that age changes things for us.

poorbuthappy · 07/06/2020 14:09

@MonsteraCheeseplant
Many many years ago when I was about 18/19 my friend got very drunk and tried to weigh her boobs on a kitchen scales.
About a week later she admitted it and she's never lived it down. She reckoned they were a couple of lb each.
Like I said I'm hoping for more like 4lb each.
Although on the plus side they make my stomach look slightly flatter GrinGrin

MonsteraCheeseplant · 07/06/2020 14:18

Yes, they're a great figure balancer! Ok, so I have to never admit it if I do, got it Grin

Octopus37 · 07/06/2020 14:31

Rara sorry to hear that, are you on any medication? It might be worth getting your thyroid checked. poorbuthappy thats funny about the boobs, mine might weigh half a pound each, I'm not very well endowed, have always wondered lol.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 07/06/2020 14:44

Wonder no more...Curvy Kate Article

Octopus37 · 07/06/2020 15:40

920grams for me, guess thats nearly two pounds, quite suprised. That said wonder if it makes a difference if you are a 32D/30DD (like me) or 36D or something, cause the later would be greater volume.

poorbuthappy · 07/06/2020 15:47

Pfft. 5lbs? Dammit.

SuperPixie247 · 07/06/2020 16:16

Hi all - can I join please? I thought I had put on weight during lockdown but couldn't believe I'm only 4lbs less than when I was 9 month pregnant!

I am sticking to 1200 calories a day, aiming for 8000 steps and 2x Joe Wicks workouts a day. I have a 4 yr old and work from home so outside exercise is limited!

Looking forward to cheering everyone on Smile

Posypetal · 07/06/2020 16:53

Hi everyone can I join?

I lost 9lb last month. I’m hoping to lost half a stone this month. I was so strict with myself and the weight dropped off the last couple of weeks of may but I relaxed a bit and have stayed the same the last week, but tomorrow I’m back on it.

I’ve always been big but I carry it well up til a certain point. I’m 5,5 and 15stone, I reckon a couple of stone of that is boobs! But I don’t feel comfortable anymore and would like to get down to 13 stone, even though I would still be overweight I know I’m happy at that size and I’m about a 12/14, at the moment I’m in a 16 but all of my clothes are stretchy!!!

Looking forward to following everyone’s journey x

MonsteraCheeseplant · 07/06/2020 16:58

That's loads more exercise than me @SuperPixie247 and I don't have any children to blame it on Grin

Wow @Posypetal congratulations on your weight loss!

Welcome both, you've caught us at a strange time where we're researching how much weight might be in our boobs...

OP posts:
RaraRachael · 07/06/2020 17:10

Thanks for the suggestions Hangover but none of them really apply to me so I've got none of those to use as excuses!

Monster I started making a conscious decision to lose weight about 2 years ago when I was menopausal and felt like I had middle age spread. At that time I was losing 1 pound per week and was happy with that. I stopped trying as I was happy with being 10 stone but over the last year I have put on over a stone, despite my clothes still fitting me (apart from being tight across the boobs).

Octopus I did wonder about thyroid as my mother suffered from it.

Welcome to all our new members Grin

EndlessUserName · 07/06/2020 18:05

Welcome newbies!

Done well today. Hopefully the scales will reflect that in the morning.

DP birthday next week, so planning to be super strict the day before, then can enjoy his bday food the next day. Will try to stay sensible though

Meal planning next week now, motivation is waning. Any advice please?

MonsteraCheeseplant · 07/06/2020 18:07

Are you looking for new recipe inspiration? Or just wanna dunk your head into a vat of Nutella?

OP posts:
EndlessUserName · 07/06/2020 18:17

Hahaha well my period is due in a week, which always makes me feel hungry, irritable and just generally lacking motivation! I've meal planned for B,L and D for the whole week now so hopefully that will take the guess work out, rather than replying on myself to make good choices! Any other ideas?!

SuperPixie247 · 07/06/2020 18:25

@MonsteraCheeseplant its all well intentions, we will see in a few days Grin

My boobs are pretty non-existent wierdly! I went from AA to an E whilst pregnant/breast feeding and they're right back to flat chested Confused

How often do you all weigh yourself? Just out of interest

EndlessUserName · 07/06/2020 18:29

Weigh once a week for me, Mondays

MonsteraCheeseplant · 07/06/2020 18:39

Once a week is best for me. It gets a bit much if I do it more frequently. I start thinking about it too much.

Wish I had the answers to motivation. I just make sure I have treats that are low calorie enough to stop me derailing!

OP posts:
Posypetal · 07/06/2020 18:51

I wish I had the control to only weigh once a week, I end up doing it every morning! Soon as I’ve done a wee I’m on those scales Grin so annoying though as I fluctuate at certain times during the month and it makes me feel like what I’m doing isn’t working.

Hangoverstruggles · 07/06/2020 19:03

Evening all,

Today I've had

B green tea
L weetabix & milk, then big bowl of full fat Greek yogurt, almonds and berries (460)
D potato wedges, homemade chicken goujons, homemade curry dipping sauce (500)
S large coffee, absolute tonne of strawberries, Amstel 66 beer (320)

Total 1280
5k run

I am guilty of daily weighing which can be demotivating. I like to weigh very first thing before I've eaten anything. I'm often 3lb heavier before bed.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 07/06/2020 19:31

B: Toast and honey
L: Garlic bread
D: Spinach and Barley risotto
S: the other half of the brownie, an Aero choccie mousse, a mini Reese's cup, raspberries.
I'll have something else too as i'm only at 955 cals so far today. Looking back on my day, i didn't realise it was going to be so carby. Meh.
