@therun that's amazing loss! What is the Cambridge?

@everycowandagain I've been taking my TDEE at 'sedentary' which for me is 1660. So I aim to eat under it by 200-400 a day, and then exercise on top. My exercise is 5k runs 3 / 4 times a week plus been doing sets of squats / sit up / press ups or following a body weight vid on YouTube. I'd def recommend measuring & weighing initially, it's boring but gives you control. I find it hard with family meals but we have a few recipes that I know are low cal that the kids enjoy too.

everycowandagain · 29/06/2020 21:09

@Hangoverstruggles that's an interesting way of doing it. Sedentary puts me at 1650 so very close to you.

I came in at 1298 today, not going to lie I am quite hungry! I plan to train first thing in the morning and suspect I will need to eat something to get through it. If 1300 ends up being too low on training days (i.e. most days!!) then I will try 1400 and do a better job of logging calories for an evening drink or two.

Heygirlheyboy · 29/06/2020 22:02

What is TDEE and are you using fitbit or similar to work out sedentary caps? Thanks!

13k steps today and a clean sweep meal wise. On the up!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 29/06/2020 22:09

TDEE stands for Total Daily Energy Expenditure - it's the amount of calories you burn in a typical day. Here is a calculator and it shows you the ranges depending on how active or sedentary you are.
BMR is your Base Metabolic Resting rate which is the number of calories you would burn if you laid in bed all day.

Had a very carby day yesterday, tbh bored of everything we have in the house and food in general. Weighed in at 9st1.5 this morning.

everycowandagain · 30/06/2020 09:38

Morning all, I had a terrible night's sleep but managed to get my workout done this morning. I did need some carbs to get it done, having gone quite low cal yesterday. I have logged dinner already and based on 1300 cals/day I have less than 500 calories left for lunch and snacks so we will see how that goes!!

Overall this month I am down slightly, only about 1.5lbs, but I have a good plan for next month when I will be super focused with an eye on my hol starting 30 July. Aim for next month is about 4 pounds, but it's the last few pounds so it'll be a slog.

everycowandagain · 30/06/2020 09:39

@Octopus37 I hear you! So bored of it all.

Heygirlheyboy · 30/06/2020 09:40

Ah monster, I eagerly clicked in Grin

TheHoundsofLove · 30/06/2020 10:20

I hear you too Octopus ! I love cooking, but find everyday meal planning, shopping, trying to please everyone etc... to be a real drag. And that's before you add in calorie counting it all!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 30/06/2020 10:31

Morning all. Last day of the month and weigh day for me.

7.75lbs lost this month, and 75 miles walked or run.

I'm 24lbs above my low weight and 38lbs above my BMI=25 weight.

74lbs lost in total.

B omelette and smoked salmon
L leftover jambalaya and salad
D ? Got about 800 cals available though so doesn't matter too much. Pizza maybe?! Grin

TheHoneyBadger · 30/06/2020 11:22

Morning. Scales held fairly steady so I leave the month with a loss, though barely.

I have a soft spot for frozen battered fish which are pretty high in calories so I now just have two of those and lots of veg rather than adding in a further carb. Ds likes his with rice but I resist. That was last nights dinner. I had mackerel and salad and yoghurt with honey earlier in the day so it was definitely an eating day.

Today I’m going to attempt a decent length fast and then a high protein very low carb dinner. And to walk plenty. The steps really make a difference for me so I need to keep walking.

Welcome runes and well done on your great loss. I’m another with a lot to lose-at least 4 stone

TheHoundsofLove · 30/06/2020 12:07

Your'e doing brilliantly Honeysuckle - 74lbs is a real achievement!
Badger One of my favourite lunches is battered fish fingers, peas and tartare sauce!
I've made the most of a slightly cooler day here today and have done a 15km run. I'm feeling pretty positive still, but have got a chilli out of the freezer for dinner tonight and have no idea how many calories are in it. And I'm not sure that I even care! Grin

HoneysuckIejasmine · 30/06/2020 13:33

Thank you! It's annoying because I actually got down to 98lbs lost before getting ill last year and eating my way back up again. Still, did it once can do it again.

I decided to have nachos for dinner. Actual real ones with crisps and cheese.

TheHoneyBadger · 30/06/2020 15:19

I am attempting not to despair. My new scales arrived and I mistakenly stood on them. They say 9lbs heavier than my scales said this morning.

I know some of that will be time of day but Sad

It’s pathetic but the thought of having to put a huge increase into my Fitbit app and face I’m nearly as heavy as I thought I was a couple of months ago is devastating.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 30/06/2020 15:40

God that absolutely sucks Honey.
It's just a number and nothing has actually changed. But I totally understand where you're coming from.

TheHoneyBadger · 30/06/2020 16:07

I know. That’s what I’m trying to tell myself but really feel like eating the whole pack of snickers ice creams that I finally managed to get hold of and washing them down with wine.

Still fasting and trying to shake off the what’s the point feeling. Rationally I’ve still lost weight it’s just that the number I’m at has changed.

Hoping my morning weight is at least a bit less drastically different

Heygirlheyboy · 30/06/2020 17:15

Oh that is really crap Honeybadger but absolutely yes you've still lost it.

TheHoundsofLove · 30/06/2020 17:33

Don't be discouraged Badger - it's a known fact that scales are liars! Grin

Hangoverstruggles · 30/06/2020 18:00

Aah Badger that is so disappointing!! BUT as the others have said, it's only a number, and weight changes loads in the day & with clothes on.

See what they says in the morning (post wee, ideally a poo too Grin) and take it from there. Keep positive!

TheHoneyBadger · 30/06/2020 18:03

I am going to weigh in the morning for a true comparison and then go back through my Fitbit adding whatever the difference ion pounds is to all my weigh ins over the last 2 months. Hopefully I’ll still have my graphs and data showing progress that way itms.

Still fasting but alcohol is calling me. Already been for a big walk to stave off the wine witch.

TheHoundsofLove · 30/06/2020 18:47

That sounds like a great idea Badger !

TheHoundsofLove · 30/06/2020 18:48

I mean the going back and amending Fitbit...and not the the alcohol by the way! Grin

MonsteraCheeseplant · 30/06/2020 18:55
