Hello friends. Onwards and downwards eh!

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 17/07/2026 19:39

Thanks for the new thread. I hope you are getting looked after @Broon .

I’m away for a few days and lost without my daily eigh in, amazing how I feel out of control and fear the worst when I don’t know what is happening. But im doing loads of walking and not especially hungry so don think im doing much damage so far.

PositiveAttitude · 17/07/2026 20:05

Welcome here everyone. Mumsnet HQ have been very gracious and have got rid of my mistake thread.

I will try to be more active on this thread as I have been very lax in posting regularly recently.

As a follow up to the conversation on the previous thread, I have been very lucky so far with my clothes sizing. It wasn't really until spring this year that I needed to drop a few sizes, but I managed to get through the winter in my old clothes. This summer I have been dressed nearly entirely in clothes that I had stored away for the past 8 years and not been able to fit into.
In September I fear I will need to buy a while new winter wardrobe.

I too am a short arse and despite losing 7 stone and now being 14 stone 7, I am still in a size 20-22, although, to be honest, I feel I look not as big as those numbers actually sound. Perhaps I am delusional. 🙄

I'm not sure if this says more about how much weight I've lost, or how often we sometimes a takeaway, but the elderly Chinese lady at the chip shop who doesn't speak much English commented on my weight loss this evening! 🤣

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 17/07/2026 22:00

Bugger, left it too long to check my post and cant edit, not sure where the word sometimes came from but it was supposed to say get a takeaway

Billybingbong · 17/07/2026 22:47

Thanks for the new thread @PositiveAttitude . I hope you're ok @Broon. We'll all keep this thread going until you're well enough to take over the reins again.

I'm just on my way home from a right good night at Alex James Britpop. It was phenomenal, and I am forever in awe of how much easier these things are as a 'normal' sized person. I was up dancing most of the night, such fun.

@Onenotsosmallstep I hope you enjoyed it too

Hi all, thanks for the new thread @PositiveAttitude

Sending love to @thebroononeandthewhiteone

Currently sat in A&E with DM who has had a fall. Just heard someone say they’ve been here for ten hours 😩

MummyInTheNecropolis · 18/07/2026 06:53

Thanks for the new thread. Just checking in and saying hello. I’m still plodding on in maintenance, it’s not easy and my weight does go up and down a bit but overall it’s been 7 months of maintenance now and I’m still going and have stayed within a healthy BMI for all of that time. I’m off on holiday in 2 weeks and currently trying to lose another 2-3 pounds to take me back to the lower end of my target range.

Hope everyone is doing ok, sending you lots of love and positive vibes @broonFlowers

Hello, hope it's ok if I join? I'm actually on wegovy and have been for almost two years. I've lost 8 stone and 11 pounds. My goal weight keeps moving! At first I thought I'd be happy at the weight I met DH ( 13 st 10) then it was a healthy BMI which was 10 stone 10. I'm now at 10stone 2 and thinking I'd like another half stone off just to give myself a bit of a buffer!

At what point are/will people going into maintenance?

Welcome! I don't really know when I will want to love into maintenance - I've never been a healthy weight so I don't know how that will feel/ what it will look like. What I want is a weight that is easy to maintain - where I can eat a reasonable amount of calories sach day with leeway for occasional meals out. A healthy BMI would be nice but I also need to bear in mind that any loose skin will have a weight but won't be contributing to BMI in a health sense so my healthy weight will probably be a bit higher than some people's.

Sorry .just curious

Springflowers2 · 18/07/2026 12:11

Love to , pearlsteapot hope your doing good as well
Everyone else' hope your all having a good week.
I've got a swanky new haircut..half shaved undercut with pattern ,going back next week to have colour applied and a deeper pattern put in ..
Feeling more like me..
Weight the same top end of 14 stone ..BMI 29

Springflowers2 · 18/07/2026 12:15

I am currently on 10 mg of monjroro
May drop down again when I order at end of month.
My ritalin is killing my appetite anyway,so I can probably manage on less mounjaro..
Not sure if I'm having stomach issues with monjroro a bit ..or if I've got a bit of a bug ..or if I've over done the ice lolly situation..
Will cut out ice lollies today and see if tomorrow is better

Springflowers2 · 18/07/2026 12:17

I'm still getting the bonus dose in my pens though,I've not had one with only 4 doses in yet ..
Has anyone else been getting a 4 dose only pen yet

MummyInTheNecropolis · 18/07/2026 12:22

My current 2.5mg pen from lotus doesn’t have a bonus dose 😞

I’ve discovered a new snack recently, thought I’d share. They are Curators Pork Puffs, they’re like crisps but more filling, zero carbs, high in protein and only 133 calories for a decent sized bag. I love them!

Welcome @Buzzlightfear

I am not anywhere near a final goal at the moment but from what I have seen most people change it down a bit when they get to their goal.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 18/07/2026 14:06

@Springflowers2 your hair sounds amazing!!! Id love to see a picture when its done but then realised that would be fairly identifying!

I think im averaging half a pound a week now but staying same for 3-4 weeks then a couple of pounds drop and holding.

I kind of imagined maintenance like this but am still a stone overnight and still have a lot of fat on my stomach.

I know I will have loose skin and it may well be a dress size bigger than the rest of me. Its a likely apron... but its still holding a lot of fat. Id love to be under bmi 25 and have my waist under half my height . I like numbers but am also aware that these are still artificial data points.

I had hoped to go to about bmi 22 but I had imagined my slow down to be later than it is! I dont really want to go up any more as I don't really want to eat less than I am as dont think thats healthy to do either.

So I think im accepting a very slow "tail" to my progress.

Its the end of term here and I'd mentally thought that was my "date" to be at bmi 25 but with the long stalls I'm not there. Only 8 lbs off! I am overall happy though. I'm overwoght and would like to lose but feel so different from when I started. I "pass" as normal rather than when morbidly obese and its a strange feeling. I can shop in normal shops, sit in jor al seats, my mobility has been lifechanging in itself. Its so good.

Im curious about actual maintenance too

Id assumed id be there by now and would slowly cut down doses as I slow down. But as im slowing down a lot already this could end up being my maintenance dose I guess!!

MisfitMagpie · 18/07/2026 14:08

@springflowers my latest 7.5mg from lotus is a new 4 dose pen, ordered 1st July.
