@afaloren oh I knew your friend would be bigger, she's definitely projecting and/or jealous. Don't be sad just keep on taking care of yourself
@PearlsTeapot glad you got it sorted!
@PositiveAttitude I'm the same, I'm the lightest I've ever been as an adult and each time I lose a bit more weight, I think I can't possibly get below the next milestone 😆 it's so weird

PearlsTeapot · 28/07/2026 20:49

@PositiveAttitude I can't imagine being any less than I am now either. I'm 15 stone which is what I've been all my adult life (and beyond obviously) and have no memory of being lighter. I can't see myself any smaller.

It's my wedding anniversary tomorrow! 11 years. We're going out for lunch and dinner. No regrets! I wont overeat, I'll just enjoy what I do have.

PositiveAttitude · 28/07/2026 22:28

Happy wedding Anniversary @PearlsTeapot. Enjoy a day of celebrating love and life together. 💖🎉💖🎉

Hi everyone, glad to hear from you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne and glad things are improving.

Glad you got your delivery sorted @PearlsTeapot

I can totally relate to that feeling of not being able to believe that you can possibly get any lighter! This time last year I was in Majorca, I’d lost around 7 stone, was wearing a size 16-18 and was the smallest I’d ever been as an adult. I felt amazing, getting on the plane and not worrying about the seatbelt fitting, getting to the hotel and being able to wrap a towel all the way around me, feeling confident in my swimsuit. It was brilliant, and I wasn’t sure it could get any better, but it has.

I’m off to Spain tomorrow, at target weight, wearing a size 8-10, with a selection of bikinis in my case, plus my gym wear so that I can run and workout while I’m away. I’m a totally different person! I still have to pinch myself sometimes, it doesn’t feel real. And if I can do it, anyone can!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 29/07/2026 00:12

@PearlsTeapot So glad it arrived and Happy Anniversary 🥳.

I've found the goal weight/maintenance weight chat really interesting.

I'd assumed I'd aim for bmi 25 or just under so I felt "healthy" and kind of assumed most people with 10stone plus to lose would

But now I'm half a stone away from that I'd like to go lower as I have a very visible stomach. I think for me it would need surgery (I will never afford this so not an option).

However this last stone has taken forever as my weight loss is so very slow now.

Id love to get the size some of you have got to/are aiming for but at this rate it will be miraculous if ai ever get to bmi 25!

I lost so much year 1... !

I don't think ill ever get to bikini size as so much loose skin already round my middle (and on my back...and thighs...and...) but love that I can wear clothes that hang better already!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 29/07/2026 00:24

Oh in a bid to Get Moving I have been walking every day this week, and restarted my exercise plan today.

Today was mobility and tomorrow is strength and I'm keen to get back into it.

I an so aware how all consuming my work had been .

afaloren · 29/07/2026 10:59

Happy anniversary @PearlsTeapot ! Have a lovely day with DW.

Thanks everyone for the supportive comments. I’m just going to ignore it. I know this is the right thing for me.

Interesting discussion on goal/maintenance weights. I’m a size 14-16 now and I feel tiny Grin but I know I have at least three more stone to lose. Can’t imagine it! Three stone also feels doable whereas fourteen did not.

SilenceInside · 29/07/2026 11:34

One of the interesting things about losing weight and getting down towards the BMI 25 range and below is experiencing a range of firsts, which given that I am approaching 50 is somewhat unexpected. Today I am wearing a bandeau bra which I have never done before in my life. I got a (Vinted) new dress and realised that I couldn't wear my usual bra with it and needed something strapless. After doing some research, all advice online was pointing to a bandeau, which I was a bit unsure about. Got a new with tags M&S one from VInted and gave it a try, and it does what it is supposed to do. I'm only a scant B cup these days, so they don't need much to hold them in/up!

In terms of goal weight, having been around the 70kg mark for a fair few months now, I can see that I can still lose a bit more and get down to the middle of the healthy range, so around 65kg. I didn't really think it could be possible at the start and 140kg, but it's interesting how my perspective has changed after 2 plus years into the process.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 29/07/2026 11:39

1.1 kg loss for me this week. Currently weighing in at 104.3 kg. That's over 30 kg lost so far.

Springflowers2 · 29/07/2026 14:24

Happy anniversary @PearlsTeapot

Missingducks · 30/07/2026 06:14

Please give me the kick up the arse I need again. I am 6 stones down but have stalled for 2.5 months now and that's really expensive. I have tried to nudge up my dose (am on 7.5) but it bungs me up horribly. I want to shed another 6 stones but frankly at the moment I want to get to below 100kg (20kg away). I flipflop between stones and kg depending on who last used the scales and set them!

My food intake is much better than when I started at Easter 25 and I drink far less alcohol and move far more.

But I need a whoosh and the motivation that brings ...

Weigh in and jab day

SW 140kg BMI 54.7
CW 90kg BMI 35.2
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

14 stone 2lbs in old money. A small loss but I'll take it.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 30/07/2026 07:09

Hey @Missingducks
I am in the same boat, but if there is anything I have learnt over this last 18months and 7 stone weight loss is that this is a journey! Mine is much slower than others, but a journey nonetheless. During this journey I have lost my wonderful dad, struggled with grief and dealt with skin cancer and surgeries.
I am still here and I am still trying to loose!
I don’t think I will get big sudden losses again, no whoosh feelings, it’s more I have to just keep nudging.
Yes it is too expensive for this approach, but what choice do I have if I want to keep it off for good and keep my muscle? I am more worried about gaining it all again than how quick I loose it.
Trying to just be kind to myself, like I never have before. Showing myself patience and encouragement.
Stalling is so frustrating, I have been stuck for about 2 months too. I’m just going to keep going.
You can do it too.

I have reflected on my MJ journey, the thing that’s different is ‘I keep going and won’t let myself give up this time’.

we started near the same weight. I’m 91.7KG. Like you, I want to see under 90/under 14stone.
Hope we both get there soon!!

I feel like this too, but have further to go still.
I don’t ever expect to get in a bikini, my skin and tummy will never look good for that even at BMI 20!
I think I’ll reach a point where my face and outter frame/Sillitoe looks the right BMI, but my tummy will never reach that look. I think chasing that would just end up leading to muscle loss and worse health.
I am size 14-16 currently- size 12 would be a dream for me. Think that’s more important than my BMI actually.
I don’t think I will get to 25 without loosing muscle and boobs, both of which I want to keep.

I'm sure as you say, you are eating well but are you tracking? Literally weighing and recording every single thing you eat? It's so easy to become complacent around this and portion sizes start creeping up, I know this well myself! I think it's well worth doing this strictly for a few weeks if you aren't already. It's got to be worth a go because as you say, it's too pricey to not be losing!
Even 16 months in I'm occasionally surprised by the number of calories in things. Chorizo and fresh mackerel being 2 recent items that come to mind, good god they are high for relatively small amounts- especially chorizo 170 cals for the tiniest tiniest bit.

Missingducks · 30/07/2026 08:10

Thank you both ... Sometimes just writing it down and getting the frustration out helps!

And no, haven't been tracking - will get back on that, good plan!

BritbirdUK · 30/07/2026 09:32

I am coming to the end of my 1st week after stepping up a dose (going from 2.5 to 5) and feeling a little out of sorts. Just wondering if it has happened to anyone else? I was consistently losing the weight over the 4 weeks I was on 2.5 but still had food noise a fair amount and a bit of hunger. But I felt really upbeat, positive and wasn't really missing food and certainly no cravings. This week I woke up for the first time hungry and have been wanting to snack a lot more during the week. So, in essence, it feels like by going up a dose the food noise has increased rather than decreased. Am also feeling a bit less positive, anxious and stressed in general. I know I am really early into my journey so appreciate I have a lot to learn and things could change next week but was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and, if so, do they have any advice please?

EverybodysALebowski · 30/07/2026 09:45

I was also stalled for a long, long time, at least 2 months, when I hit a loss of about 18% of my highest body weight. Just kept at it with very minor fluctuations. Started going to the gym. Have now been going to gym 2x/wk for 2 months, a light workout but something. Now in the past 10 days I've suddenly gone down 5 lb, so I am hopeful the plateau is ended and gradual losses will start up again.

I'll never be thin, will probably never even get out of the 'obese' category and I'm accepting of that. But I'm just so happy that I am now more physically active, sleeping better, moving lots more, only occasional twinges of knee pain rather than constant. Such a difference in my health and everyday life.

GnomeDePlume · 30/07/2026 10:17

I think the things I am enjoying about being on monjaro are the side effects of losing weight, the NSVs:

  • being able to park in a normal parking space because I no longer need to open the door wide to get out
  • my blood pressure is now normal or even a bit on the low side
  • my diabetes is now controlled so all the diabetes related problems are reduced or gone
  • not looking at furniture and worrying if it will hold my weight
  • making healthy food choices without having to have a major internal argument with myself

The biggest thing is that I have a lot of other stuff going on. In previous times I would have been using this as an excuse to make poor choices. Now I have monjaro on my side helping me.

SilenceInside · 30/07/2026 10:54

@BritbirdUK I think that can be quite common. The effects of Mounjaro can vary even on a stable dose that normally works well. It's one of those things that can't be known, but if you had stayed on 2.5mg perhaps the hunger and cravings would have been worse. Stress can certainly affect appetite and cravings, so that may be contributing as well.

I think my only advice would be not to be to worried about one week, and see how you go on the second week and further weeks on 5mg. When you do your next 5mg dose that will be the highest level of Mounjaro in your system to date, so chances are that things will get back on track.

Ketra · 30/07/2026 12:27

Weigh in day today - things have slowed over the last few months but I've just hit 8 stone 13lbs loss, which means I have lost 40% of my body weight in 56 weeks, which isn't too bad!

Like many, I'm not expecting to be skinny or to feel comfy in a bikini at the end of this - way too much loose skin for that! But my general health is so much better and I now just look "normal fat" rather than hugely obese.

In terms of NSV's - several over the last few weeks:

  • a neighbour of my parents has started taking WLIs after taking inspiration from my progress!
  • Both my parents commented I looked slim on a WhatsApp video call, without knowing each other had commented the same
  • A colleague who has been on long term sick didn't recognise me when she came back to the office and came over to introduce herself - when she did recognise me she than tried to cover it up by saying my hair had changed (I have had several inches cut since she last saw me, but its the same style and colour).
  • Been to several events over the last few weeks - not only have I not been the largest in the room at any of them, I have tended to be very much the average size in the room.
  • Also, over the last few months I have finally got the confidence to start wearing jeans again and now have 3 pairs I wear regularly - before this I hadn't worn jeans for probably 15 years

Well done everyone and thanks for sharing all your stories. I don’t post often but do use your posts for inspiration.
I am 10.5 stone down with 1.5 stone to get to a 25 bmi.

Im stuck on losing at the moment but do wonder if this is my natural weight that I should be but would love so much be have a normal BMI. I threw a little party when I hit overweight.

Ive been obese for 40 years so life couldn’t be more different. I’ve flown this year, wore a swimming costume, used the bus, been to concerts, wore shorts and sleeveless tops and lots of things I wouldn’t do before because of my size.

let’s all keep it up. We’ve got this. Xx
