Better late than never, NHS?

I have been obese since experiencing trauma as a teen (now 50). 13 years ago I hit my highest ever weight of nearly 30st (BMI 70). I went to see my GP to be told there was no help available.

I self-funded a sleeve gastrectomy, lost lots of weight, regained most, had four children.

I have lost 8-13st several times in my life.

This year I started mounjaro and have lost 6st, putting me at BMI 27, with less than 1st to go to finally get to my first goal of BMI 25 (probably carrying 7lbs of excess skin too).

Today I got a message from my GP surgery asking if I'd like to be referred to the weight management service.

😬

I’ve restarted Mounjaro after a 9 months break but have forgotten the logistics of the golden dose. I’m hoping someone can remind me please. My questions are:

  1. Where online is the best place to buy the syringes from?
  2. What length of needle?
  3. For 2.5mg, do I fill up to 60 and is that the same for all mg?

July 2026 Tablet Starters

Has anyone taken the step to order the tablets and wish to share their journey?

There’s probably a hundred of these threads but here I am, another person with no clue where to start or what to do first.

I have around 4 stone to loose (14stone and 5ft3 currently). I typically hate taking medicine or injections but I have tried for the past 3 years to shift some weight through diet and exercise and menopause is making this impossible. A kilo comes off and 2 more are going on.

I don’t want to see my GP and truthfully there’s probably a little shame to how I feel about it all.

I did a quiz on Voy which suggests I am eligible and to start with wegovy.

I’d be grateful for any advice or signposts to articles / threads that you think might be useful.

How to come off Wegovy Pill?

I've been on Wegovy pill since mid August. I've lost 25 pounds and I'm finally within a healthy BMI.
I'm currently on 9mg and have around 40 pills left. I would like to stop after this - reasons are a) cost and b) I feel quite nauseous a lot of the time.
What is the best approach?
Has anybody just stopped? What did that look like?
Thanks!

Thinking style has changed since MJ

I'm doing a course on emotional eating with an online coach and we've been doing work on the critical voice we often have

Im finding i dont hear it as much as I used to

Not just in terms of food/exercise but maybe in other areas too just falling into my thinking less, the whole mega conversations that used to be there arent.

Wondered if this was a mounjaro thing or maybe cos im getting older and giving less of a sh*t I just dont indulge

Wegovy Tablets - New Starters October 2026

Hi all.

Wondering if anyone is interested in joining a new thread for October starters, specifically for the tablet/pill. I have had a quick search and can’t seem to find one.

I have previously been on Mounjaro which I found incredible, I switched briefly to Wegovy Jabs but I stopped due to personal reasons. Looking forward to getting back on track. I’ve ordered the tablets and they’re being delivered tomorrow.

I am slightly concerned about the fasting element. I tend to take a pint glass of juice to bed so I will need to switch to water and equally I’m usually straight to the kettle in the morning for my cuppa while the kids eat breakfast!

Looking forward to hearing people’s experiences and sharing the journey 😊

November starters?

Not sure if there is a thread yet but I started yesterday about 6pm.

It's taken me months to finally start as I've been wary of the side effects, bruising from the needle etc and i'm planning of doing this slowly and staying on the 2.5mg. I'm 53, 5ft 2, and currently a size 16. I've piled the weight on these past couple of years since starting HRT and i've become really uncomfortable in myself so here I am. I do go to the gym 3/4 times a week concentrating on strength training and I'm really hoping this will give the help that I've been looking for as I've become really conscious of a lower pouch that I've developed. I'd love to loose 3/4 stone and be more of a size 12. When I was married my ex husband told me I was an embarrassment because I was a size 14 so weight issues have become tied up quite mentally with me too.

Just Injected Wegovy 7.2mg

I have just injected my first dose of Wegovy 7.2mg. It's a bit scary with it being three times the previous dose of 2.4mg.

I switched over from Mounjaro and have done 2 pens of 1.7mg and 3 pens of 2.4mg. I have been tolerating them well after the first pen and briefly on moving up a dose but an not losing.

I lost around 4stone 7 on Mounjaro and have another 1 stone 7 to go to get to a BMI of 24.

I found the pen tricky. You get 4 single use pens each with the needle attached. You have to press it firmly against your skin and hold until the yellow bar in the window stops moving. I found it tricky to press hard enough to get it going, even though I pinched first. I did stomach and I am quite squidgy so might try the thigh next week as that will be firmer.

When I moved the pen there was a drop of blood mixed with some of the medication on my skin so I don't know if I got it all. I had been pressing hard though as there was an indentation in my skin where the pen had been pressed. Hopefully it will be easier the second time.

Anyway, lets see what happens next. I have planned some easy to digest meals in case of side effects and will be avoiding fat and alcohol and eating small meals. I really hope it kickstarts my weightloss.

Anyone tried/on 7.2mg? How is it going? How did you find the pen?

Mounjaro Feb 2025 starters (thread 8!)

Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

Switching from Wegovy to MJ

Hi everyone,

I took wegovy injections for 2 weeks, second week I had itching, hives and face flushing, minor allergic reaction? Has anyone else had this and switched to MJ and been ok?

I understand it’s two different main ingredients but some are the same, nurse and pharmacist have said no one can know until it is tried.

August 2026 starters (Thread 2!)

Hi everyone and thanks for the bestowed honour of starting the new thread, Puzzled!

It’s so lovely to have all of you along for the ride on here. Thanks for keeping me company! I love reading how things are going for you and being able to ask questions or share things.

Yesterday, I tried on a fleece top I bought last year. It fit me so snugly last year, I looked like a burst sausage in its casing. Now it’s actually loose. My rings are starting to feel a bit loose too- I wear my mum’s engagement and eternity rings and on the cold mornings, they’re starting to slip down my fingers.

I’m down 1.9kg this week and, although I’m still feeling hungry, it’s not an all-consuming hunger that leads to binging. I’ve actually needed to add more food as what I’ve eaten today and yesterday ended up being 1300 calories and 1100 calories. Given that my watch is still estimating approx 3000 calories burned on a typical day at school, I know I need at least 1600 to have enough oomph. Is anyone else finding the same?

I’ll link this thread in the old one so everyone can find their way here.

I’m on Wegovy, have PCOS and type 2 diabetes, and have lost 2 stone so far! I’m also doing cardio and strength training 3 times a week.

I’m looking for affordable supplements available in the UK:

A good multivitamin to help cover nutritional gaps while losing weight.

Collagen powder or small tablets to support skin, hair and nails

Which UK brands do you recommend, and have you noticed a difference? I’m on a budget, so I’d love something affordable and good value, ideally without having to swallow large tablets.

Thank you

How do I know which product I should use?

Hi everyone, new here :) Hoping someone can help :) Im thinking of starting the jabs (although I know there are tablets now too!) but I dont know which medicine I should use or which pharmacy to go with. They all seem to keep advertising on instagram to me but its all so overwhelming! Ive found this website https://www.glpwinner.com/ but is there a UK version? I dont want to pay too much but I also want to make sure I do this right as Ive had friends who have gone on and off the products and seems like they are just doing the old school yo yo dieting again but paying lots of money for it! Thanks!

July 2026 Mounjaro - Thread 2

I didn’t realise I was post 1000 and now the old thread is full so I thought I’d start thread 2! 💉

I had ten pens of Mounjaro from MedExpress and am now on 15mg and I’ve lost over 4 stone with minimal side effects, however I got my latest from bolt, used the first dose on Friday and I still feel terrible! I’ve been sick and had terrible runs and I’ve had to take paracetamol every day for headaches, has anyone experienced similar?

Anyone else struggling with beans on Mounjaro

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this side effect. I’ve been on 15mg Mounjaro for a few months now and have been struggling to eat beans in any form recently - whether it’s baked beans, or chickpeas in a salad. Every time I get sulphur burps!

I’ve been lucky to have not had the burps to date. Maybe it’s just leaving it too late in the day to eat lunch, because I’m not hungry - and then eating lunch and dinner too close together and causing a clog.

The other thing I’ve experienced the burps with is Metamucil - all that psyllium seems to ferment with the extra time in the gut!
