Wow @TragicMuse you look amazing !!
On Thin Prvilidge. I've definitely realised this on health appointments recently and accompanying family members to A and E etc. It's subtle and I wasn't badly treated before (usually) just... I feel respected more/listened to/believed more now.. its hard to put a finger on.
I started with my current team at work about a year ago so they knew me bigger but not the level of morbidly obese that I was (50bmi). New starters in Sept will never have known me v.large which is bizarre.
Slowing down... @SilenceInside s experience (and others especially Boon!) have really helped me so much so I knew to expect quite a drastic slow down. It has still felt hard to manage though after the first year.
Its kind of magic though. I've attached some shotsy graphs and you can see overall the downward trend continued regardless... but I've had periods of weeks and weeks stalling or even increasing this second year.
(Started Jan 2025. 21st 11 (bmi 50)
(I had been 22st10 prior due to meds but lost that stone the year before)
Lost 8st the first year.
Jan 2026 13st 11
Oct 2026 10st 11 (bmi 24.3)
I am now HEALTHY BMI at 24.3!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
I crossed over from sitting on 25 a couple of weeks ago but didn't want to believe it until it "stuck".
I went upto 12mg which rekickstarted things. But I have also stopped my exercise programme again which isn't good (general work/life exhaustion)
The last half a stone though seems to hae made a huge difference to my overall shape. I now own jeans!!! And clothes hang more normally. It really really is that kitchen roll/loo roll analogy. The first 3 stone really wasnt visible... and first months work wasnt really... whereas people have noticed this last half stone.
Interesting re targets.
I desperately wanted to get to bmi 25 comfortably (as in, in clothes when weighed at a GP) and after the first year assumed Id sail into it.
With the periods of stalling around 13st I was having to think maybe I wouldn't ever "get there" and adjust expectations. My stomach was still visibly larger than. The rest of my body though.
The recent change is huge. I have so much loose skin (and presumably still a lot of fat in the skin) on my stomach its hard. Not as hard as being 50bmi. But...makes me want to lose more. I love the rest of me though. Realistically I won't ever afford skin removal surgery so i just need to be realistic I think.
I never thought I'd want to "keep going" after getting to this point. But....as its currently going down I will see..
I am really aware that on 10mg I started justmaintaining and had never intended to go "up" this close to the end goal.
12mg is making me tired and nauseaus for a day too... I do need to reduce a bit when I can.
Its so strange. If I lift my skin... I am actually a "normal person" underneath like I used to be so long ago.
