I’ve ordered new scales.
And had a little NSV of buying some size 16 jeans in the sales without trying them on until I got home, and they fit perfectly. Finally, 2.5 stones down and I changed size!! Although I still have a couple of size 18 that are snug. But most 18s are falling off now!

Good afternoon from sunny Cyprus ! 😎
Thanks for all the good wishes, much appreciated.
Was a long day yesterday, luckily slept most of the way so not tempted by the in-flight food options - DD had stocked our fridge with some basics so had scrambled egg (plus toast for DH) and an early night.
Did a food shop this morning, no joy finding fat free cottage cheese or,bizarrely, 0% fat yoghurt of the brand I prefer.
Bought frozen prawns (there were fresh, but I hate dealing with all the legs, shell and head 😱and DH flatly refuses to do it) and a ready-roasted chicken for convenience. Salad stuff and fruit, and some carby treats for DH.
Am determined not to go home having gained weight this time!
Hoping for Mounjaro Bum … 🤣.
We’re on the coast approx 1.5 hours drive from DD and family, who’ll be down on Friday afternoon - can’t wait.
Expect Friday will be barbecue at theirs, I know they’ve booked a restaurant for Saturday evening so need to be as moderate as possible on the days and nights I can control.
Well done to all the losers, especially the soon-to-be -at target ones ! 🎯 🏆

Ooh have fun with your family @ElsieJay - sounds like you've got a solid food plan for whilst you're away!

MyScaredCat · 03/09/2025 16:53

@HKG while it’s my ‘goal’ I suppose I still have plenty to lose. My BMI is 24.5 and I’m a small size 14 in clothes. I’d be delighted to maintain at this weight now. Clothes look good and I feel great. And I feel this is more sustainable than say another stone/stone and a half would be, especially as I’m going cold turkey on MJ

HereIGoOnceMore · 03/09/2025 17:54

Congratulations on all the losses and sorry to all of you who are under the weather or battling other challenges. I hope things move more positively soon.

Progress here remains slow, but I’m seeing a steady downward trajectory, so I’m content. My issue is that I have been absolutely starving for the last 2 days. Yesterday was jab day so I could understand that, but normally jab day + 1 is when I have the most suppression. Do you think that’s the weather too?

tostaky · 03/09/2025 18:03

@MyScaredCat the weather defo has an impact. Thats kind of why ive stayed at 2.5mg during the spring/summer
For me work is also a trigger. As soon as i get out, im thinking that a snack would be quite nice and which shop should i go to to get something… i dont know, maybe i feel like “released” from my day and i need to comfort myself (i do like my job though! Even if it is hard). I need to get to the bottom of tbis because this is what is making me pile on the pounds.
Jab day is tomorrow morning, not sure whether to increase slightly, stay the same or delay jab day by a day or two and keep the same dose… (one extreme to the other!!)
Also someone at work went for a tummy tuck in Turkey over the holidays - i find it hard to see the difference (but i understand it takes a few weeks to settle down etc) and i keep thinking why are you not trying MJ?? Maybe i’ll ask her if she had considered something less invasive next time i get a chance… whilst i like the idea of a tummy tuck, i do feel it is a very serious op and the jab is a much softer option

VashtaNerada · 03/09/2025 18:14

Thanks @Seahorsesplendour @ElsieJay Yes, it did occur to me that if the worst comes to the worst, I could always just take 5 from a 7.5 pen but can’t do it the other way round. No idea how I got through work today, still feel terrible 😞

ElsieJay · 03/09/2025 18:40

@BerfyTigot - sorry , missed that great NSV of yours yesterday !
Would it be possible for you to e-mail your rheumatologist, or their secretary ?
Im sure they’d be interested in your positive results , am surprised the GP wasn’t more forthcoming .

BerfyTigot · 03/09/2025 18:42

@ElsieJay that's a good idea. I've had a locum rheumatologist for a couple of years now, but I know the secretary quite well.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 03/09/2025 19:50

Mounjaro bum signing in here! It's like Mounjaro Anonymous in here sometimes.
Good evening, hello, I'm DidI and I've got no arse (then maybe I'd do a bit where I'd twirl backwards again and again trying to find it).

Well done to all those with losses! @MyScaredCat I'm so happy for you! @ElsieJay I just want prawns now, I love ripping their little legs off, and their heads. What?

Made the mistake of opening a contentious Mounjaro thread in AIBU and then I actually commented on it like a knob. So much whataboutery and pitting this group of people against that. I'm annoyed at myself for diving in but I've really done well resisting so far.

Gingercar · 03/09/2025 20:07

You have! I’m always diving in and getting myself wound up!

SussexLass87 · 03/09/2025 21:01

The update you all needed....demanded that DH drop his trousers when he got home and he does indeed have MJ bum!

Poor bloke thought he was well in there for a moment 😂

Morning all, how has everyone been? I’m now on Week 15. -1lb off this week which means 1lb away from my 2 stone target.

Feels very autumnal here this morning so I need to get some healthy easy autumn/winter recipes. I always find summer a lot easier to stick to good eating so the change of seasons will be another challenge, especially if I’ll be off MJ in a couple of months.

Was just reading your posts about MJ bum. I think I’ve been suffering with that this week?! My coccyx seems really painful when I sit down? I have no idea what’s going on but it’s pretty uncomfortable!

After talk of soup earlier in the week, and thanks to a miserable wet and cold day, I shall be turning my kitchen into a soup factory today to stock up my freezer with lots of delicious, easy, healthy concoctions. Don't have much appetite at the moment and little desire to cook for myself when hubby is back in UK (won't be back again now until late Oct) so, to keep myself on track I am going to pin my hopes on soup!!

stripesdotsdashes · 04/09/2025 08:27

Argh im so close to goal but stalled! I was on here 10 days ago with 300g to lose to hit the magic 70kg, and here I am on weigh-in day-to-day stuck at 70.2kg! I did go up a little in that time so pleased it's back in the right direction.

Im starting last pen today, 5mg, I cant afford nor want to be on it any longer, so will be titrating down and am nervous. Thinking 3.75mg for 2 weeks, then 2.5 for last 2-3 which takes me to end of October. Hoping all the knowledge of smaller portions and no snacks will override the hunger/cravings.

Im so pleased I kept up with measurements though, they show the differencethe scales do not. Here's my starting and ending in inches.
la= lower abdomen which at 50 has been my biggest motivator for losing weight, my belly fat.

Started = 5.5.25 79kg / 174lbs
waist 36.5 la 43 hips 42.5 bust 40
Today = 4.9.25 70.2kg / 154lbs
W32 la36.6 h38 b36

My BMI is 25.1, nearly in the green too, down from 30. Size 12s are fitting me well.

I think it's time to stop, I could lose more and do still have a wobbly belly, but money forces this. I think theres a lesson in learning to be comfortable looking at the measurements and bigger picture of health, despite the scales not quite getting to goal. Maybe this is my set point and will be easier to maintain than going further?

This group has really helped by the way, even if I dont post much. Reading the ups and downs, plus reassured by the slow losers like me, and how we're all ticking along day by day. Can't believe we started in May and how much has changed for us all in just 4-5 months 💐

Gingercar · 04/09/2025 08:48

I forgot to take my jab yesterday! Third week on the trot I’ve done that. I I’ve done 8 days each time. I took the golden dose from my last 5mg pen, we got 6mg out, which is what I’m hoping to take from my 7.5 pen next week if I can work out clicks! I’m hoping to get 5 x 6mg doses plus a golden dose. Which will take me past the 30 days, I know.

@stripesdotsdashes i hope that pesky bit of weight comes off soon!

FlorenceNightshade · 04/09/2025 09:00

Weekly check in for me today! Ran out of needles for Tuesday so I’m now a Thursday jabber - think this day might suit me better!

So in the four months since I started

SW 92.9kg BMI 30
GW 75kg met 🥳
CW 72.2kg BMI 23.3

Loss this week 0.6kg
Total loss 20.7kg or just over 3stone and 22%

NSVs of wearing size 10 jeans, size small work uniforms and my watch needing to be on as tight as it goes when I’m running or it slides on my wrist!!

Just taken dose 17, stuck with 3.75mg but only got 30 units out my pen so took 15 out my next one to make the 45, I’m using a 5mg pen. There was air visible last week but the solution looked clear and I keep it in the fridge so I was happy to use it, it was the 7th dose out that pen so way over the limit.

I’ve been really lazy recently not doing much extra exercise and I’m heading into my two weeks of nightshifts from Monday so I’ll be aiming for at least an hours daily dog walk and decent sleep! Shift work is hard but I’ve been much better about trying not to eat too late at night and not eating the junk that is always on the go at work! Chocolate covered rice cakes and lentil crisps are my faves at the moment!

As always loving hearing everyone’s updates and inspired by how we all try to navigate ourselves through the tricky stuff towards our goals! Our future selves are so lucky that we are showing up for ourselves right now, doing the hard work so they can reap the benefits!

Onwards and downwards beauties ✌️

@Gingercar i found a helpful link on another thread where you can put in what strength of pen you have and what dose you want and it tells you how many clicks!

You can also say how many mls of a pen you’ve extracted and it will tell you the dose, how long a pen will last with different dosing schedules, using extra dose or not, and how many doses would be out the pen as normal and how many you’d need a syringe for. Option to add the cost of the pen for price per jab too!

I’ll try to post it here if it doesn’t work let me know!

@stripesdotsdashes and anyone else nearing goal and thinking about stopping.

Ive been lurking on this thread and the one before it. Lots of useful tips and some mention of the set weight theory too!

Having just spent 4 days away staying in a hotel and having limited food choices I was very pleased this morning to have lost another pound.

So for the first time in I don't know how many years my weight starts with 11. 11 stone 13.5 pounds but still good to see!

SW 14 8
CW 11 13.5 - week 19

GW still to be decided!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 04/09/2025 10:21

Loving the losses and general vibes, such a lovely bunch.
I was meant to jab yesterday but last week's jab just didn't do anything, I mean I was really quite poorly so fair enough, but I was hungry all the time. I really want to start doing my long walks again to help get the weight off but I just can't - if my knee pops out I could fall and really hurt myself. I hope I get a date for surgery soon but it could be months.

I daren't update my address at my GP surgery because that'll move everything to a different primary care trust or whatever the latest equivalent is and they'll just lose all the paperwork and I'll fall off any waiting list I'm on for my knee. It's a faff because my prescriptions get sent to a pharmacy an hour away and I can't fit a 2 hour round trip into my day! Extra frustrating because part of my profession is getting loads of data from A to B and there are so many ways of making sure systems are feeding others with up to date data one way or bidirectional, and I could bet my wobbly knee on them not having that in place to allow humans the audacity of moving house occasionally.

Ooh who's a little ranty pants this morning, sounds like we need a slice of toast don't we <steering furious inner toddler to the kitchen amid yells of 'and another thing!...'>

Apprenante · 04/09/2025 15:22

Hi Ranty Pants! (I might borrow that for my username - I'm always ranting about something) Could you change your nominated pharmacy? I don't think you have to give a reason and if you did you could say you're staying with a relative. Which would sort of be true .....

Not that I'd encourage mendacity, obviously.

BerfyTigot · 04/09/2025 15:41

Right! Time to take myself in hand. I've been playing around for a whole MONTH, have some good excuses but really i could have done better.

I'm recommitting to my healthier diet - one fizzy drink max per day and I'm going to look into soup recipes. Life is going to be a bit quieter now so it's time.

So if I reveal that I've stayed the same again next Tuesday, please dont be nice - actually could you all be complete bitches to me, tell me I'm a lazy goodfornothing etc? Go on, help a girl out 😁
