Thanks. It’s not the end of the world. You can’t see faces so I didn’t bother reporting it.
This thread is getting full! We are a chatty lot.

@FlorenceNightshade awwww, definitely safe place here! I hear you on this as well, on the comparison. I’m sorry to hear this has been your experience as well. It’s incredibly how these things echo through with us all our lives in one way or another.

I do t have a twin, but I have an older brother who I adore but my mother was also had plenty to say about him not being overweight and me being too big. She had a whole snack cupboard that was stocked for him and I was told not for me, I wasn’t allowed. That screwed with my head for years and probably still does to some extent. Yet weirdly, I have no resentment towards my mum, and def not my brother, about it.

so here’s to us, to breaking all the old patterns, to these things dying with us. I am feeling so many things right now but above all proud of us. Whatever the scales say, we are doing amazing things!!! Well done all of you!

@HKG@FlorenceNightshade Younger siblings, all thinner than me. They don’t understand as they’ve never battled with their weight. Safe space for sure!

Foreveronaplane · 09/11/2025 10:51

@florencenightshade@hkgour past experiences truly do shape & mould us. Thank you for sharing.

Five months in & MJ has helped me to reframe my thought sssociations with food and alcohol. I’m a slow loser, nearly 3 st lost but still 2 to go.
I helped a colleague this week on an article he’s writing about the effect of weight loss injectables on the food industry (I didn’t declare my inside knowledge) There is so much venom out there driven by misinformation and the odd person who has abused it. Most of the strongest comments though are from people who haven’t had to battle with their own weight challenges before. I hosted an industry event on Thursday and weight loss was noticeable for the first time, but I haven’t shared that I’m using MJ, I was a bit scarred to be honest after the research that I’d done in the past few weeks.

FlorenceNightshade · 09/11/2025 10:55

How interesting @Foreveronaplane what kinds of impact is the food industry noticing? I’ve read about people wanting smaller plates and less courses when eating out but I imagine there is more to it than that!

You’d think (as an outsider!) that the food industry would be happy more people want healthier “real” food even if it’s less of it. Would love to hear more 😘

Hi all, I hope you don’t mind me jumping on this thread but thought you’ve on been on it a while now and I’m a newbie so thought I’d ask some advice.

ive been on MJ for 6 weeks (did 4 weeks Wegovy before that)
i moved up to 5mg 2 weeks ago and after my jab on the Friday evening I had stomach cramps all evening, then Saturday I had sulfer burps and stomach ache and then Sunday Diorrhea… by Tuesday I wasn’t to bad apart from a nasty cough I’ve picked up. This Fri I did my 2nd 5mg jab and had a bit of a sore tummy not too much and Saturday (yesterday) I felt nauseous all day into the night. Then woke up this morning with stomach ache and I have Diorrhea again.

is this normal ? Is this my body getting used to the 5mg dose?? I moved up the dose as I wasn’t getting any supression on 2.5mg.

Any advice would be brilliant thank you xx

ElsieJay · 09/11/2025 13:53

Welcome , @Elliebearblues !

I don’t think I’m the best person to advise you as I’ve only recently moved up from the 2.5mg pen myself.
I’ve not experienced diarrhoea or stomach pain, thank goodness - but nausea, burping and extreme tiredness have all appeared, quite randomly and intermittently.
We’re a very chatty bunch, so I’m sure someone better informed will be along very shortly.

ElsieJay · 09/11/2025 14:09

After much dithering, I’ve jabbed (3.75) two days early as we have a full day in London this coming Thursday and wanted to get the side effects (if any) over with beforehand.
We’ve booked afternoon tea in the Orangery at Kensington Palace, so fingers crossed that won’t sabotage my Friday morning weigh in.
Might have to request a doggie bag ( I’ll tell them it’s for the corgis ) . 🤣

Couple of NSVs to report - tried on the faux suede jacket from New Look again, DH said it’s too big on you ( size 14 ! ) so have returned it. Am coveting the beautiful Hobbs Livia coat , but as a shortie I don’t think I’d do it justice, plus not really practical for my lifestyle .
Second NSV - finally dusted off the treadmill in the utility room and used it for its intended purpose, rather than hanging the ironing on.
Managed 30 minutes walking this morning which I plan to build up daily .

tostaky · 09/11/2025 15:09

@Elliebearblues hi, some of us are taking liberties with the prescription. For example i jab 2mg every 4 days at the moments. I find it helps with the side effects. I try to find the sweet spot where i have suppression with minimal side effects. I started with 1.5mg every 8 days, then every 5 days then moved to 2mg every 5 days but thats wasnt enough so now doing 2.5mg every 4 days. Later i might try 3mg every 5 days and see hos my body react. Obviously i am not a health professional and this is not what is recommended but that is what i do. My losses are slow but thats ok with me: just about 3 stomes in 6 months.

I work with lots of fast food & coffee businesses, which has been a major contributor to my weight gain over the past 5 years! Not because I eat their food but because of the regular customer lunches & dinners. Many are changing their menus to accommodate - more protein - lots of chicken based products, smaller portions and for some Acai bowls etc. sharing options also more common. There are lots of factors driving change across food & beverage. GLP-1 drugs are just one factor.

Lifecircle · 09/11/2025 19:08

Hi @Elliebearblues
I've been jabbing since mid May and experienced similar side effects as you when I moved up to 5mgs. Like the previous poster I have 'jiggled' about with my doses and started to jab 2.5mgs every 5 days. I'm now at the stage of taking 3.5mgs every 5-6 days. I'm a fairly slow loser and am 3lbs away from a 2 stone loss.
Hope this helps.

FlorenceNightshade · 09/11/2025 19:10

@ElsieJay i don’t know what The Orangery is but it sounds swish!!! You’ll need to upload a pic of the menu so we can see!! And well done on the too big coat and the start of an indoor walking habit 🥳

@Foreveronaplane thats really interesting! I don’t eat at fast food type places often but I’ve noticed that healthier salady type foods appear more prominent on the menus than before

Thank you for taking the time to reply, my symptoms weren’t to bad on 2.5mg but no supression and very slow losses that’s why I moved to 5mg. I really hope it’s my body trying to get used to the jab and it won’t always be like this x

TreesOfGreen99 · 10/11/2025 17:26

@Elliebearblues i find I am extremely susceptible to changes in the dosage. I am currently on 3.33 mg (40 clicks) and this gives me enough suppression so I can eat sensibly but avoids side effects.
It may be worth considering?

TreesOfGreen99 · 10/11/2025 17:27

‼️10 posts until the thread is full 😳

ElsieJay · 10/11/2025 17:46

@FlorenceNightshade - sadly the Kensington Palace (location of the Orangery)
trip is off, not enough participants for the coach company to run it 🥲.
Trying to console myself thinking of the calories I’ve saved ….
May I ask you, or anyone who can , to start a new thread , please ? Thank you xx
