Ahh @BerfyTigot you know we'll just be utter rotters and be super supportive, we've got form for it 😄

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 04/09/2025 17:02

@Apprenante I had to Google mendacity. I love new words. Thank you!
I'm a bit nervous of doing so. But equally I have no way of obtaining my current prescription without figuring out time travel. I need to get my brain in gear.

dc82 · 04/09/2025 21:47

I found you all!! Crazy busy weekend, then away with work for a couple of days and come back to find you all on a shiny new thread! Hope you’re all good, well, and ideally losing and if not losing then not drowning yourselves in custard creams!

I tactically decided to delay jabbing from Tuesday to today as I didn’t want to take pen away and figure it’s good practice for maintenance. Another 2.5lbs off this week, but I’ve managed zero exercise in nearly 2 weeks and so I fear it’s muscle I barely had drip drip dripping away 😳.

HKG · 05/09/2025 09:30

Good morning all, hope everyone is having a little gentle sunshine today (it’s lovely in north London)!

Weighing day for me , a little disappointing to have only lost 0.8lbs with still 40 to go but I’ve just finished my totm so maybe that’s affected it?

I’ve delayed my jab from last night to either tonight or tomorrow , I’d like to push it to a Sunday night eventually so I have more energy to exercise and do stuff with the kids at the weekends.

how’s everyone else doing?

lissie123 · 05/09/2025 09:45

Morning
Anxiety riddled week. Work and then trying to sort our house move. And I feel so sad about getting rid of clothes that no longer fit and having to buy more. I’m getting into size 12 and in some cases 10 which I haven’t been in for 20 odd years. One pound off this week and another 7 pounds to go before I reach goal weight though might change- see how I feel, if I think I need more wriggle room.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 05/09/2025 09:51

Morning! I've lost the 2lb I put on when I was poorly so I'm back at 200lbs again. I'm a little irked at that and want to gesture at all the wine I haven't drank and big piles of pasta I haven't eaten. I've had a lot of soup this week.
I'm wondering if this is like a new set weight and it's going to take some time to get past it. I still haven't jabbed, am regarding my pen in the fridge with suspicion - no idea if my being so ill was in part MJ, but the lack of appetite suppression was absurd.
Anyway, it's Friday, nearly there folks.

HKG · 05/09/2025 09:57

@lissie123 sorry to hear about the anxiety, such a difficult one to navigate at times and totally understandable with such a big thing going on in your life. No advice but lots of positive thoughts coming your way!

@DidILeaveTheGasOn yay for the 2 off! Crumb buckets for the potential new set point. I’m right there with you as my body doesn’t seem to want to go below 198 despite three loads of exercise this week. Wish there was a metaphorical pile of wine and food we didn’t consume that we could Chuck at the scales! Fingers crossed you are due for a whoosh next week!

Gingercar · 05/09/2025 10:51

I don’t think it will be a set point, just your body readjusting. You’ve lost a lot of weight fairly quickly, the odds are are it will slow down eventually. I’ve just finished week 15 - I lost a stone in each of the first two five week periods but have only lost 7lbs in the third five week period. It feels disappointing after the speedy start, but you just have to think it’s all continuing the right way. It’s just a bit more frustrating because a lot of us are on borrowed time trying to get as far forward as possible while we’ve still got pens!

@lissie123 i totally understands the house moving anxiety. We’re in the middle of selling ours, and all sorts of curve balls have arrived this week!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 05/09/2025 11:34

Thank you @gingercar, that really helped, it was exactly what I needed.

Need to be patient and not quietly rage against my body - it isn't doing anything wrong and I feel better than I have in a couple of years.

It's funny how the numbers can get me in a bit of a chokehold at times.

tostaky · 05/09/2025 11:50

@HKGive put my washing out to make the most of the sun today!
ive stayed the same this week. I am going to increase to 3mg i think purely for vanity reasons: -starting a new job in october (and i want to be at least overweight and not obese! And going to a fancy weekend in italy mid October and again i want to look my best…
Also buying a couple of things for my wardrobe. And i want a new work bag. I am going to be “senior” in my new role and my old frumpy and fat grey backpack that i got free from my previous-previous job 6 years ago will simply not do! Time for a new me, a new bag, new clothes and new makeup! With a big credit to mounjaro!
still feeling cold and a bit under the weather. I am going to book yoga for sunday evening as i have not done any exercise for a loooiong time.

@DidILeaveTheGasOn could you go to your new GP practice and explain the problem and you don’t want to go down the waiting list for the knee op, and see what they suggest. I had a knee replacement 2 years ago and waited 2 years in agony to get it done.
I know this is different but your old practice should be able to email your new chemist your prescritpion for them to fill. Last year I was in Spain and forgot my meds, so my GP emailed me my prescription I had to print it and got it from a Chemists here in Spain!

SutekhsEars · 05/09/2025 14:05

@tostaky I love a new bag! You never have to worry if it still fits!

Kbr22 · 05/09/2025 14:21

Weekly check in here. Still in Spain and can’t believe I have lost 2.4kg since I arrived 3 weeks ago. In the 3 weeks before I came I only lost 1.1kg!
Week 16 1 x 2.5 1.x 5 2 x 7.5 and starting my 3rd at 7.5
SW 82kg
CW 70.5kg
GW 60kg

BMI down from 32 to 28..6 so still overweight but not obese now.
It seems there are a few people who are almost at their goal weight, I hope you don’t all leave, as I love the support on here and will need it for a while yet.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 05/09/2025 14:30

Ooh @kbr22 I'm wondering if Spain has some inherent magical weightloss qualities, I might need to book a holiday (what do you mean that's spurious nonsense? Hol-i-day!)

HKG · 05/09/2025 14:30

@tostaky i hear you! Buy the bag! I love that feeling that you can reinvent yourself when you start a new job and it feels so good too.

I recently got one of those nordace backpacks for work and I think it looks super smart and it’s comfy too and fits so much stuff!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 05/09/2025 14:32

I'm sorry it took two years for your knee to be done, that sounds horrendous.

My knee completely popped out yesterday when I was in the shower and I nearly fell, it hurt so much I was nearly sobbing, and then it popped out later in the afternoon. Painful day. I'm going to see if I can get it done privately via my health insurance at work.

BerfyTigot · 05/09/2025 18:11

Oh no! @DidILeaveTheGasOn I did that once - so painful. Hope you get a good result with the insurance 🤞

Oof you poor thing! This just sounds awful x

Seahorsesplendour · 05/09/2025 20:15

@DidILeaveTheGasOn 😳 ouch!!!! That sounds so painful!! Hope they can get you sorted soon!’

there must be something in the air today I was excited to weigh as it’s been 2 weeks & I could feel the weight dropping off this week and see the changes in my body!! Felt great!!

was sure the scales would reflect it but no!!! 1lb!!! I was really disappointed!!!

this is the trouble for those of us with big losses it feels rubbish then when you don’t get them!!!

annoyingly this combined with my pmt (my cycles are so short atm 😢) made me have a total binge.

pretty fed up with myself tonight!!!

logicallyI know any loss is good but today I had not ability to feel that!!

going to bed early to avoid any more bad decisions today and hoping things feel much better tomorrow!!!

@lissie123 & @Gingercar hold on in there having moved just over a year ago I can confirm despite the hideous relentless stress & anxiety it is worth it!!!

onwards & downwards and thanks for listening!!!

Gingercar · 05/09/2025 23:22

Saw this on Facebook and thought of us
lot!

NSV this morning - had a look through my stash of clothes and found some BNWT 501s that fit perfectly! Shame I have no arse cheeks to show off in them. Damn you, mounjaro -bum!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 06/09/2025 19:26

Tried on some size 16 jeans today and they're too small, but the size 18 is massive. Maybe in a few months.

Can someone help me decide what to spend on in the house next because I'm going round in circles in my head:

  1. Replace flooring in living room. Super Nervous kitty keeps spraying in the corner behind the tv, it's the perfect spot because it's hidden so she feels safe to do it, but it pongs and the carpet washer machine is super heavy to keep getting out and cleaning. The carpet is damaged from the previous owners anyway. I'm considering waterproof click vinyl in a herringbone pattern.
Pros: This would get rid of the smell and prevent repeat spraying and look v nice.
Cons: We don't really use the living room because there's only a 2-seater couch in there and there are 4 of us, plus cats.

  2. Buy another couch for the living room.
    Pros: Somewhere to sit.
Cons: We're not going to sit down there when it pongs.

  3. Buy a tumble drier. It rains A LOT here, way more than I'd anticipated.
    Pros: Dry stuff. Fluffy stuff.
Cons: I mean can't I just whack it on an airer? I work from home.

  4. Buy TV for 'snug' upstairs (second living room).
Pros: Somewhere to escape to when children are childrening.
Cons: Just watch the telly in the living room. Interact with your cherubs. Get another couch so you can all sit together and watch a movie (that they won't want to watch and will abandon within the first five minutes).

Gah.

HKG · 06/09/2025 19:33

@DidILeaveTheGasOn my two pennies: new sofa for all of you to fit on 100% any day. I don’t know how old your kids are but I love a snuggle with the whole family and a family movie of an afternoon. I have two boys (11 and 7) so I know they will outgrow the snuggles and the sofa eventually so really prize this time!

Apprenante · 06/09/2025 19:34

@DidILeaveTheGasOn Can I suggest a dehumidifier? Cheaper to run than a TD, takes up less space - you can put it in a cupboard when not in use - much cheaper to buy ....

Apprenante · 06/09/2025 19:35

And so will leave more money for the snuggly sofa!
