Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Thank you for the new thread @Mounjaropen Your titles are always inspired!

I hope you are feeling better @Goldleafcat ,

I've just been trying on all my winter clothes. (Now sitting down a bit hot and bothered!)
Having lost a couple of stone since I last wore them, I had anticipated that none of them would fit since packing them away in May, but I forgot that I had 3 skirts from 34 years ago that I had always saved for 'One Day'..... and a couple of others are just a little bit too big, and easy to take in. All the tops/shirts are way too big so I will need to order a few replacements.
The result is that the big splurge I was anticipating on new winter clothes will now instead go towards the MJ price hike!

lovealongbath · 18/08/2025 17:36

👋

checking in!

DarkForces · 18/08/2025 17:42

Hey all! Settling myself in for month 10 on the increasingly expensive death jabs. Looking forward to see what others decide about what they do next and experiences of those who switch to wegovy. Tempted to do this myself for maintenance now.

Oceangrey · 18/08/2025 17:45

Yep, hi!
My dad actually asked me today if I'm taking the injections, in a 'you don't have to answer but' way, so I said yes. Didn't say before because I didn't want parental angst about potential side effects. But, he thinks it's brilliant because he's been reading up on all the additional medical benefits.

In other news I took my first 12.5mg on Saturday but so far no discernable difference from the 10mg, maybe it will kick in over the next day or so.

DarkForces · 18/08/2025 17:51

oooo I forgot to post that one of the original goals I shared was reached yesterday. I wore a bikini on the beach for the first time ever yesterday and felt good in my mid 40s body, despite it having a bit of squidgy here and there! I've never felt good enough to, even as a tiny size 8. I'm embracing the new me!

jay55 · 18/08/2025 17:57

Thanks for new thread.
@DarkForcesthat’s brilliant, well done for taking the plunge.

Pumpkinforever · 18/08/2025 18:27

Checking in 🥰

I may have a couple of skirts I have saved just in case @MagnoliaTreePetals but they may be too big now 😂

My word @DarkForces you are getting brave - a bikini! I am older than you and I don’t think my flabby bits should be viewed by the general public. I would end up scaring small children and animals. But well done you 👏🏻

PresidentBarklett · 18/08/2025 18:32

Checking in. Just posted this on the old thread re: Oushk and then realised discussion had moved on to here, so reposting:

I'm with Oushk too - switched to them with maintenance in mind a few months ago. I think they're fine - communication pretty good, appreciate the lives they do etc.

Some very intense customers though, and whilst I get that Hira is personable and competent and can appreciate that she is also very glamorous and polished, I do find the fangirling from adult women a little... odd? Icky? I don't know. She seems good at what she does and nothing against her, but you know what I mean, I hope.

I think they've done ok with all this, but some mis-steps along the way. Jumping on to do a live on the afternoon the news broke to reassure and offer clarity? Good. Telling customers to stockpile? Not so good perhaps in hindsight, although I think well-meaning. It seems that now they are in an incredibly difficult situation trying to keep up with the demand of the orders and vanishing stock. The FB page has been closed and the Circle app has gone utterly batshit. Everyone has...a lot of feelings on there right now.

So, anyway Eli-Lilly-fuckery aside, may as well check in properly and do an update.

I'm now down to 11 stone 2 pounds from a high of 16 stone 9 - 5 and a half stone gone and about 3 to go. At least I think 3 to go. I'm 5"2, so 8ish stone is well within the healthy range but I don't know what it'll look or feel like as my current weight is the lightest I've ever been in my adult life and my BMI is still over 28! I think I can absorb the cost to continue but will have to see when more pharmacies release their prices. I'd really prefer to stay with Oushk if possible.

Just came back from a weekend with family, in which drink featured heavily - we tend to use alcohol as a kind of bonding ritual which might explain why I am the size I am. Anyway, had about half a bottle of white, two sips of real ale and then called it a day and switched to squash to the disgust of all present. Not the healthiest food as it was what was available - half a burger, two slices of pizza.

Also got stung by a fucking wasp, which is by the by but pissed me off. It got me on the ever increasing creepy bingo wing. I suspect it was a few feet away from me and simply got sucked in my the centrifugal force created by my flappy skin, the poor bugger.

Now home and in bed with a virus. Perfect. On the plus side, being sick used to make me go for comfort food and lots of it. Today I've had sourdough toast, greek yoghurt, almonds and berries for lunch and some chicken and veg soup and a roll for tea. Feel comforted and like I've looked after myself.

Hope everyone else is good.

Crepey bingo wing, not creepy. There is nothing inherently sinister about my loose skin.

This is incredible weight loss! You’ve done so well! Hope you feel better soon.

I am also endowed with crepey - creepy bingo wings. I probably think my extra skin is on the creepy side tbh, tops of my legs, arms and tummy. Totally crap but short of some drastic surgery it’s here to stay. If I keep my weight off I may think about surgery for my arms, as they are the most visible.

Edited

For me, it'll be my neck if I get surgery on anything. Legit looks like a vulva in some lights.

Goldleafcat · 18/08/2025 21:16

Some vaguely exciting news, I tentatively messaged Boots about ordering extra pens before the price hikes and they’ve let me order an extra 2! So that will cover me now for quite some time and I can think about what to do longer term without the additional price pressure (I have a couple in the fridge due to bonus doses). This is a huge relief tbh.

I hate how much pressure people have had to face due to the potentially huge price hike at such ridiculously short notice.

Pumpkinforever · 18/08/2025 21:17

@PresidentBarklett me too!

5ft 2. Was 15 stone 12lb and now 10 stone 12lb. 5 stone gone. If I can get to 9 stone 4lb I will be delighted or even 9 stone.

Methemummy · 18/08/2025 21:17

Thread 13!

Just checking in - very absent in recent weeks. Nothing to report here....literally nothing. I am well and truly stuck.

I have lost 4 stone since starting in November but nothing the in the last 12 weeks. Some weeks I loose 0.5 pound then gain it back the week after.

Over the last 12 weeks I have gone up to 10mg then 12.5mg and no change. I don't feel like I have supression but also don't have any cravings. I have tried recalculating calories etc, upped exercise but still no change.

On one hand I am content with the 4 stone weightloss - that's 25% of my starting weight!!!! I am comfortably i to a size 14 and at times a 12 from a 18/20. My BMI is still 28 so there is more to loose.

I am on holiday next week then when back the price increase will have taken effect. I have 6 weeks worth on injections left so I am wondering if I should go it alone for a while once pens have finished.

I don’t think I am strong enough @Methemummy

Ideally I want to come down slowly and stick at 2.5 or the Wegovy equivalent if that’s possible.

Good luck with the decision. I read an article earlier from a Dr who was concerned that people understand that they shouldn’t just reach for the same dose of Wegovy as MJ, so make sure you consuit a pharmacist..
