Welcome to thread lucky number 13!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Checking in. Just posted this on the old thread re: Oushk and then realised discussion had moved on to here, so reposting:

I'm with Oushk too - switched to them with maintenance in mind a few months ago. I think they're fine - communication pretty good, appreciate the lives they do etc.

Some very intense customers though, and whilst I get that Hira is personable and competent and can appreciate that she is also very glamorous and polished, I do find the fangirling from adult women a little... odd? Icky? I don't know. She seems good at what she does and nothing against her, but you know what I mean, I hope.

I think they've done ok with all this, but some mis-steps along the way. Jumping on to do a live on the afternoon the news broke to reassure and offer clarity? Good. Telling customers to stockpile? Not so good perhaps in hindsight, although I think well-meaning. It seems that now they are in an incredibly difficult situation trying to keep up with the demand of the orders and vanishing stock. The FB page has been closed and the Circle app has gone utterly batshit. Everyone has...a lot of feelings on there right now.

Ooh. I’ve not joined any Oushk group. What is the circle app? Sounds intriguing!

I don’t think I am strong enough @Methemummy

Ideally I want to come down slowly and stick at 2.5 or the Wegovy equivalent if that’s possible.

I am not sure I am either, but I don't feel any supression currently and cannot justify the price increase without weight loss!

Mounjaropen · 18/08/2025 21:43

PresidentBarklett · 18/08/2025 20:37

So, anyway Eli-Lilly-fuckery aside, may as well check in properly and do an update.

I'm now down to 11 stone 2 pounds from a high of 16 stone 9 - 5 and a half stone gone and about 3 to go. At least I think 3 to go. I'm 5"2, so 8ish stone is well within the healthy range but I don't know what it'll look or feel like as my current weight is the lightest I've ever been in my adult life and my BMI is still over 28! I think I can absorb the cost to continue but will have to see when more pharmacies release their prices. I'd really prefer to stay with Oushk if possible.

Just came back from a weekend with family, in which drink featured heavily - we tend to use alcohol as a kind of bonding ritual which might explain why I am the size I am. Anyway, had about half a bottle of white, two sips of real ale and then called it a day and switched to squash to the disgust of all present. Not the healthiest food as it was what was available - half a burger, two slices of pizza.

Also got stung by a fucking wasp, which is by the by but pissed me off. It got me on the ever increasing creepy bingo wing. I suspect it was a few feet away from me and simply got sucked in my the centrifugal force created by my flappy skin, the poor bugger.

Now home and in bed with a virus. Perfect. On the plus side, being sick used to make me go for comfort food and lots of it. Today I've had sourdough toast, greek yoghurt, almonds and berries for lunch and some chicken and veg soup and a roll for tea. Feel comforted and like I've looked after myself.

Hope everyone else is good.

You poor thing! Hope you feel better soon, that’s a run of bad luck. Losses are incredible tho - well done! 💪🏻🙌

PMSL about the bingo wing description tho. 😂

This is incredible weight loss! You’ve done so well! Hope you feel better soon.

I am also endowed with crepey - creepy bingo wings. I probably think my extra skin is on the creepy side tbh, tops of my legs, arms and tummy. Totally crap but short of some drastic surgery it’s here to stay. If I keep my weight off I may think about surgery for my arms, as they are the most visible.

Edited

Honestly, just continue to train your arms with weights. Mine are slowly playing ball and looking better. My friend has had loose skin removed and it is brutal. The scarring is significant.

Checking in at 69.8 kg. Under 70 kg for the first time since I was 21 (I think), during a period of borderline disordered eating while at uni. BMI 23-ish. My body seems to be telling me that this is where it is comfortable, so I'm quite chilled about my weight now and will just try to maintain it, roughly.

For me, maintenance means staying at my current dose of 5 mg indefinitely, thanks to my fancy endocrinologist diagnosing me with insulin resistance etc etc. No tapering off or stopping allowed, apparently, as my insulin would just skyrocket again.

On the price rises, I've managed to stockpile 4 pens already, and am hoping for another 1-2 before the prices actually go up. But once they do, I'll stay the course, even though I'm pretty mad at the wankers that run Eli Lilly right now. Seriously. Total wankers.

Mounjaropen · 18/08/2025 21:56

😂 OMG.

Anyone seen the pictures of Karren Brady this week? She’s had something called EndoliftX on her face (£3500) and looks legit 20 years younger. I’m very envious of her neck right now.

Some vaguely exciting news, I tentatively messaged Boots about ordering extra pens before the price hikes and they’ve let me order an extra 2! So that will cover me now for quite some time and I can think about what to do longer term without the additional price pressure (I have a couple in the fridge due to bonus doses). This is a huge relief tbh.

I hate how much pressure people have had to face due to the potentially huge price hike at such ridiculously short notice.

Well done!

I agree it is madness.

@PresidentBarklett me too!

5ft 2. Was 15 stone 12lb and now 10 stone 12lb. 5 stone gone. If I can get to 9 stone 4lb I will be delighted or even 9 stone.

Amazing 🙌

Thread 13!

Just checking in - very absent in recent weeks. Nothing to report here....literally nothing. I am well and truly stuck.

I have lost 4 stone since starting in November but nothing the in the last 12 weeks. Some weeks I loose 0.5 pound then gain it back the week after.

Over the last 12 weeks I have gone up to 10mg then 12.5mg and no change. I don't feel like I have supression but also don't have any cravings. I have tried recalculating calories etc, upped exercise but still no change.

On one hand I am content with the 4 stone weightloss - that's 25% of my starting weight!!!! I am comfortably i to a size 14 and at times a 12 from a 18/20. My BMI is still 28 so there is more to loose.

I am on holiday next week then when back the price increase will have taken effect. I have 6 weeks worth on injections left so I am wondering if I should go it alone for a while once pens have finished.

Do you feel like sharing your daily food /exercise to see if we can help? How is your protein/ water intake? What is your calorie intake vs your BMR or TDEE? Are you losing inches rather than weight? I know it’s so frustrating when the scales don’t budge.

woohoo on the weight loss! 🙌

That is very interesting about your insulin resistance. Do you mind sharing how they diagnosed it? Are there markers in your blood? I totally feel like this was my issue and MJ unlocked the blocker to my losing weight. I’m happy to stay on this if need be.

They did a full blood panel, and as far as I understand, the markers that confirmed it were fasting insulin and HbA1c.
The latter had improved when they tested it again in March.
I'm due another round of full tests in November, but I had a lot of risk factors for this diagnosis beforehand (chemotherapy with high doses of steroids, endocrine therapy for breast cancer), so it all just sort of made sense to me.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 18/08/2025 22:24

Checking in properly. Thank you for the new thread, @Mounjaropen, and I hope your DH recovers quickly.

I’m 5’2” too, with all the shorties on the thread! I’m 9 stone 5ish. Well, 9 stone 6.6 this morning but that was after a cup of tea rather than before. BMI of 24.

I think I’m ready for maintenance. I’m not enjoying 12.5mg - I’ve been sick twice now on nights out. Felt like I could hardly eat or drink and then threw up. On Friday, I ate one slice of toast, a banana, a few crisps and then got utterly stuck on the pasta my sister made for dinner at nearly 9pm. That’s the entire day’s worth of food. I think I managed about a third of the portion she gave me. It wasn’t ridiculous portion sizes either. Then I tried to have a few drinks and felt like my stomach just rejected everything. DSis heard me throw up and was worried. I still didn’t confess. I’ve ordered a 7.5mg for my next dose. After that it depends on pricing. I would quite like to drop back to 5mg after that and then 2.5, but we’ll see. I think I look good at this weight/BMI, and if I lose more my lovely new size 10 swishy jeans will be too loose.

Wow 34yr old skirts 🤩

I love your turn of phrase President! Some very intense customers " 🤣🤣🤣 hope you feel better soon (& you can have creepy wings if you want to!)

I have a missed call today from my pharmacy who I was finally able to order from yesterday 😬 🤞🤞🤞 due to take my last dose tomorrow ... I do have two pens due from oushk next week too but too wary to count my pens until they're in my fridge!

DarkForces · 19/08/2025 08:07

@Arglefraster i think don't count your pens until they're in the fridge will replace don't count your chickens in my head forever now 😂.

I had seafood pasta out last night as I was getting bored of salads. Woke with a churning stomach thanks to the cream. Lesson learned!

SerenePeer · 19/08/2025 08:32

Just marking my place on the new thread! Will catch up with all your news later!

MagnoliaTreePetals · 19/08/2025 08:56

My first couple of doses on 12.5 were OK, the next 2 made me feel rotten for 3 days each time, I thought I had got over that by injecting at a later time in the day. However last 2 weeks it's been back to 3 days of nausea and exhaustion after jabbing. So I am with you @TooExtraImmatureCheddar and am also thinking of dropping back down to 10.
The dilemma is I only have about 4lb to go though until my ultimate target, so do I do another couple of weeks on 12.5mg and get there more quickly, or drop down to 10 and see how that works. Decisions, decisions!

I think this sounds like a really sensible plan - vomiting has such a negative effect on your system - including damage to teeth etc. Sorry to see you’ve been having such a rough time. Hopefully a lower dose will see you faring more sustainably!

OP posts:
MontyJinks · 19/08/2025 13:23

I feel a bit like I'm going into the unknown now. It was relatively easy to take the doses, go up when (I felt) necessary and consistently lose weight.

But maintenance options are just so varied and it all seems a bit hit and miss and will require a lot more consideration, thought and decisions!

I've reached my goal of 8st 8lbs, BMI 23.8, but don't know whether to stay here or lose a bit more. I've been overweight since childhood so have no frame of reference. I'm quite happy at size 10 and my body feels good. Only 'problem' area is my apron belly, you can absolutely grab handfuls and it sadly resembles uncooked bread dough 😂 I don't know whether losing a few more pounds or upping the exercise will help with this? Or is it just a lost cause after 4 babies, 3 caesareans?

I'd also like to hit the 'Renpho jackpot' of all green too, slightly demoralised that my body fat is still obese at 8st 8lbs 🙄 but I'll keep buggering on!

I've decided to start gradually titrating down, so have gone down from 7.5mg to 5mg for my latest dose. Think I'm just planning to see how appetite suppression is on 5mg and that will dictate when I move down to 2.5mg, and will continue to weigh in daily.

I've ordered a 5mg from current supplier and have booked my maintenance call with Oushk (late October was next available one, so if you're thinking of swapping to them for maintenance, don't, like me, leave it until the last minute) 😂

Maintenance - it's a minefield!

For anyone looking for new food Inspo, I just made this awesome salad for lunch for us all. I served with with Fresh tuna steaks. I used dried chilli flakes and replaced 10ml of the olive oil with chilli infused olive oil. Was delish! I got it from Simon Rimmer on Sunday Brunch this week:

CHARRED BROCCOLI SALAD WITH AVO AND CHILLI DRESSING 🥦🥑🌶

Serves: 4
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes

250g of tenderstem broccoli, blanched
Oil to fry

Dressing –
1 chopped green chilli
1 ripe Avocado
75ml of Greek yoghurt
1 bunch of mint
Juice and zest of 1 lime
25ml of extra virgin olive oil

200g of frozen peas
A handful of mixed leaves
400g tin of chickpeas, washed and drained
50g of pumpkin seeds
100g of toasted, flaked almonds

To serve – toss the salad in the dressing, then sprinkle on the seeds, nuts and cheese

@MontyJinksive zero experience of being at such a slim size but I do think your babies have done for you where your tummy is concerned. Exercise and weight loss can only do so much.
But hey, you grew all those humans, and have survived the death jabs, a few war wounds are well worth it.
