Welcome to thread lucky number 13!

Link to the old thread here

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Well done @lovealongbath over 75k steps ❤️

glad you managed to enjoyed cruise ship party @jay55 The pharmacies are all waiting on deliveries but I don’t think they are getting everything they are ordering. Oushk said last night that they are getting deliveries but not always the quantity they are expecting as there are now strict quotas in force. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is Eli Evil Eye Lilly putting the squeeze on to stop people getting deliveries before the price hike ( they are 🤬ing 🤬ers. - please excuse my potty mouth)

i am going to attempt to convince one of the birthday people to opt for a buffet style. I can take the angle of something informal so family can drop in at a time that suits as opposed to a formal eat-out thing which would be stressful in terms of numbers, costs, agreeing date and grandkids. At least grandpa gets something on the day he want. @DarkForces

Edited

I think (and hope!) Eli Lilly will be handed their arse on a plate as sales stall for the foreseeable and that the makers of Wegovy laugh like drains with the knowledge that they couldn't have made their extra profit without EL's own goal sale tactics. Not that Trump will ever admit that he has actually caused a decline in an American company's sales and all that....

Hello all! I have been away for several threads but thought I’d check in and see how you’re all doing. Because I’ve been less online I completely missed the Great Mounjaro Price Uproar until it was well underway, so now I have no idea how likely it will be that I’ll get my next pen from Oushk in good time. I think someone else has found the 10mg was out of stock? I went down to 7.5mg for my next order… fingers crossed.

I’m actually so close to goal weight now it probably isn’t a bad time to be considering maintenance, anyway. My stats are:

SW: 93 kg
CW: 68.5 kg
GW: 65kg

I am feeling pretty good right now and would like to stay this way! How has maintenance been treating those who are already there?

Welcome back! Lovely to see how close you have got to your GW! Congratulations!

Fingers crossed you are able to source a 7.5mg for a fair price.

Losing weight and holding onto muscle - I think it’s pretty dependent on lifting weights and eating protein, even if you are in a calorie deficit (which we all are!).

I remember that losing weight and actually gaining muscle at the same time is pretty difficult. Serious bodybuilder types bulk and cut - build muscle over months, then diet hard - so they can eat enough calories to grow muscles, then lose as much fat as they can so they can show off their work for a set period of time.

There are some beginners weight lifting/HIIT programmes - 90 Day Plan, etc - that do try to walk a line between eating a carefully deigned protein rich food WHILE lifting weights AND being in calorie deficit that people can manage both, but after a certain point you do end up losing weight or building muscle rather than both at once.

It’s a reason why I have been a little sanguine over the “you will lose muscle” warnings with MJ - it’s the same with any calorie restriction, really. If if we were all coasting through on sheer willpower, it would still be a good idea to lift weights and keep moving!

I've got a friend who is a female competitive body builder. Once I have stabilised my weight I am going to look at her diet to see If I am missing any tricks. I don't really want to take protein shakes or carb shakes though which I know she has a lot of... I love food. Especially good food!

If anyone is trying to get extra pens before the price hike it looks like high doses are back in stock with Oushk. Whether they’ll approve my order (as I got a pen last week) is another matter!

Still doing quite well here, I’ve lost 4st 8 and today dipped under 17st for the first time in a good few years 🥳.

Glad to see everyone else seems to be moving in the right direction too. Like others I’m totally obsessed with the bones I keep discovering 😆. Who knew bones could be so satisfying?!

Congratulations! Amazing results!

And thanks for the Oushk heads up! My pens are apparently en route....

@PresidentBarklett Wow, stuck my head into the “calm and supportive” thread and am reading the Oushk broohaha. I didn’t even know there was a community, or a FB group - I just take my photos, update my stats and booked a weight call when they asked me to. No idea people could feel so… passionate.

I hope things settle down soon. I am not a supplier-juggler and went with Oushk a few months ago because I wanted to be with someone who was taking maintenance seriously.

To be fair, I've been with them for 3 pens and tend to usually find them pretty good. They've struggled with this, but on the whole, have been fine. I'd just suggest continuing to ignore the social media side of it.

I love good food too! Being able to eat good food but not tilt over into eating too much (always my Achilles heel…) has been so nice.

My Oushk pens are now delivered. Coldest they have ever been! Last time the ice pack had melted and I was worried but not this time.

I totally blanked that we had a new thread and was trying to work out where I'd got to with it. What a fabulous meander through vagina necks, stranded turtles, uncooked dough tummies and 'what makes you shit loads?' it has been 😂

evilharpy · 21/08/2025 20:03

According to my mum this evening I am too thin. She likes me much better slightly overweight Grin god love her.

I’ve been with them for 3 pens as well - nothing had seemed off, though the lag between order and delivery was a pain after Lloyd‘s next day delivery.

I’m about to go abroad for a week and my last pen will cover that, and then - well, I’ll see if the furor has died down a bit.

It was too relatable! My chin(s) is going far more quietly than I expected it too but there's one crepey bit that I am keeping a close eye on so it doesn't go full fanny neck.

Hi everyone - I’m sure I’m not the only one but having never posted I just wanted to thank you for the support, laughter and honesty along this journey since last November 🥰. I started as as a 5’ 2’’ 61 year old at 14 stone 9 on the 7th November. I’m now rapidly heading for 62 and was 10 6 before leaving for the trip of a lifetime with DH, DD, DSIL and DGD at the beginning of August. Like everyone else here, it has been life changing. I’m size 8 (USA 😂) but I was a 3xl 4years ago. I have hiked in Yosemite, cycled across the Golden Gate Bridge and clocked up 17,000 steps in Disney. I’ve (almost) strutted my stuff around several swimming pools and for the first time in 39 years of marriage have actually appeared in holiday photos!!!! Thanks again and especially to @Mounjaropen . You will never know how much your support has meant 😊 to an old (previously rotund) bird.

Well do you recall the objection to the ‘eggy burp’ title from thread 3 that offended one poster in particular? I think there’d be mucho pearl clutching if I included ‘Fanny neck’ in the title 😂

This reminds me of a time I sat next to a fellow wife at our respective DH’s industry dinner/award thingy and whilst getting sloshed on the (very average wine) she told me that at her elder child’s school assembly earlier that day during a very quiet point, her 4 year old had asked in a very loud voice “mummy, why do you have a bum on your neck?” 😂

Having learned the hard way not to google terms read on MN in earlier years (not enough brain bleach) , I just tentatively googled ‘lovecraftian’ hoping it wasn’t similar to a ‘love honey’ website given all of the ‘tuppence’ references…happily it isn’t 😂

Well firstly a mahoosive big shout out for a 4stone 3lb loss, 🥳 🙌👏 And welcome to the newest (and International!) friend in our phone! 🥰

Your trip sounds amazing! How wonderful. Take all of the photos forever more. Life is too short for everything to be perfect all of the time, live in the moment I say. And keep nothing for best - you are worth celebrating every day.

It’s amazing how much more uplifted we all are along this journey. I feel calmer and less stressed and more able to cope - and I don’t feel the need for wine or chocolate to get me through a bad day. Miraculous stuff.

Friday update from me: Well zero loss for me this week…not a surprise. I had a boozy night on Tuesday (a school night!) and today I’m off for a boozy lunch with my neighbours at a very blingy restaurant. I’ve not slept well because I think I didn’t wind down enough after finishing my tennis match last night (we lost, but my DH did say “blimey you look hot” before I left so I’ll take that for the win 😂)

So that is no loss for the past couple of weeks, but I have been indulgent. I’ve focussed on my fitness for the past week but as the old saying goes, you can’t out train a bad diet….I think I’m at a point where my weight is unchanged but I feel like I’m increasing my muscle mass/toning so I’m going to do a MeThreeSixty later to see where I’m at. 🤞🏻

Happy Friday you lovely lot!

Hooray for the loss and all those fantastic NSVs! This is so lovely to hear.

Agree with @Mounjaropen take all the photos, however you’re feeling. I hate having pics taken of me when I’m bigger or feeling a bit yuck but then when I look back I actually want to see them! Funny how our perspectives change over time. And your family will always want you in photos.

I think this is part of the reason I tried and failed on so many programs before - I was determined that I would gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. But I obviously was never able to stay in a calorie deficit (lifting heavy weights made me ravenous!) and simply piled on more weight while growing some fab muscle 💪🏻 No wonder the women's rugby team were excited when I joined 😂
