Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Well my last gain was linked linked to my holiday at the end of August/beginning of September which I lost within a week of being back, then STS for a week and now finally 1lb off this week.

SW 16 stone 12lb
CW 10 stone 9lb
Total Loss 5 stone 3lb or 73 Guinea pigs

Loss to achieve a BMI of 25- 14lbs
Loss to achieve a BMI of 23 - 23 lbs

That stone/14 lbs is sitting around my waist and stomach as I am now arseless and my tree trunk legs are normal.

Morning, death jabbers!

Does anyone else find that HRT meddles with their weight loss? To be fair, I have had a bumpy ride with it: came off completely for about six months as didn't like the patches, started again but with gel, didn't get on with the gel and applied it very inconsistently, now back on patches for two weeks after the practice nurse advised me that MJ would interfere with the absorption of the oral progestogen. I cannot deny that I feel better in all sorts of ways - particularly my neck pain which was absolutely excruciating for months and which has improved so strikingly in the last two weeks that it genuinely can only be the consistent HRT. But I can feel that I am carrying extra water weight in my boobs and stomach and the scales confirm it: 3lb up (though I have also been on a very bready hen weekend that fell in the last 3 days of my MJ week!).

All I can do is keep plugging away but the little gains every now and again really bring me down.

I’ve not experienced this but HRT has stopped me going to prison because I haven’t acted upon any stabby rages 😂

I would say it takes time to find what works for you and it might be that it doesn’t. I’ve had friends that have had to switch things up to find what suits them. Consistency and timing is key IME - Only take hormones in the evening - progesterone promotes sleep for example. I think I posted my GP’s advice previously about MJ and progesterone but in case it helps anyone, here it is again:

Thank you for your advice request You have written to ask about dose changes of progesterone for a patient who is
using Mounjaro (tirzepatide) injections for weight loss. The British Menopause Society has recently published guidance regarding hormone replacement therapy for women using weight loss injections. This
guidance is based on evidence examining effects seen with oral contraceptive pills. Due to potential delayed gastric emptying, oral forms of HRT may not be absorbed effectively when initiating weight loss injections or during dose changes, with effects potentially persisting for four weeks. For women on oral progesterone who wish to continue this route, it is recommended to increase the dose at initiation of any weight loss injection and at any dose changes, continuing for four weeks. The recommended dosage would be 200mg for continuous regimes or 300mg for sequential regimes. Alternative options include switching to transdermal preparations, the Mirena coil, or using progesterone vaginally. If your patient has been on a stable dose of Mounjaro for some time, there is no absolute need to make a dose change or switch to vaginal administration. However, if future dose changes are anticipated, considering a switch would be advisable to ensure adequate endometrial protection, as there are concerns about reduced absorption of oral progesterone due to delayed gastric emptying. It is important to note this is
not a strict guideline as data is limited, but is based on expert advice.
I hope this has helped answer your question.

It would make sense given that it affects the pill, with slower absorption. Plus estrogen is stored in fat cells, so the loss should be affecting our hormone levels.

In other news SOUND THE KLAXON as I have finally hit the 5 stone barrier. I usually only count Friday weigh in weights but fuck it, this one has been in touching distance for what feels like a year.

“Glamorous” industries tend to have exploitation problems. Lots of eager young people trying to break in, lots of freelancing/employment instability, lots of money at the top and a veneration of talent/success for those who do break through… it’s ripe for predators.

I had a friend in the fashion industry in the late 90s and the stories she told could be pretty eye-opening. She didn’t see the worst of it (she was a design assistant, not a model), but I wasn’t at all surprised at the stories that came out about Gerald Marie a few years ago.

Very well said! Another 2x glamorous industry veteran here.

Was a teen model in the 2000s and in a way I’m glad I didn’t make it as far as some of my peers. So many explotation issues you don’t know where to begin, unless you’re one of the top 10 girls in the world. In many ways the setup is like modern slavery and the girls used to be 15-16.

In other glam industries you also have the whole ‘unpaid internships’ bandwagon, of course. My friends from ‘normal’ careers actually can’t get their head around that concept.

I work in a ‘boring’ industry now and it’s the best working environment so far in many ways.

Anyway, how did we get here again? 😅

5 stone is incredible whatever your start point! You’ve done so well.

Imagine if we could hop into a Time Machine and zoom back to ourselves at the start of last November. I wonder how gobsmacked we would all be at the reality of what we have achieved in this time.

evilharpy · 23/09/2025 07:04

Good morning, luxury death jabbers. Please be advised that my weight this morning starts with a 9! 9st 13.4lbs to be exact and I even took a photo to prove that it happened. This has only happened once in my adult life, for a week in 2005, after which I was straight back into the 10s again.

I know though that this is not a sustainable weight for me so it won't last, and I'm sick of outgrowing my clothes and looking like a bag lady so I shouldn't celebrate too much!

I was thinking this yesterday too!

I mean, I’d hoped I might have lost weight, and moved more using MJ but never did I think I’d be buying size 10 clothes, have a weight of 9 1/2 stone and have completed more than 200 Pvolve clssses.

Mind you, I didn’t think I’d still be on it either 😂

We should all be very proud of ourselves 💪

Congrats, @evilharpy! It’s such a nice feeling, though I know what you mean about shrinking out of your clothes. I thought this summer that taking in the waists of some jeans was a great idea, but now at the end of Sept not only do the experimental smaller size ones I got feel better they actually are getting a wee bit loose. There’s only so much wardrobe cycling I want to do, you know?

I am thinking a lot about sustainable weight, especially now that I’m digging out some very old clothes and rediscovering just how slim I used to be! (And I had no idea - youth really is wasted on the young. 🤣)

I am still 6lbs from goal, but my goal is my previous “absolute lightest” - and as my DH pointed out the other day, is it a good idea to want to reach that in my 50s? Body shape changes, muscle and bone health, etc - there’s a lot to keep an eye on as well as maintaining a healthy weight.

evilharpy · 23/09/2025 08:55

@RayonSunrise I know exactly what you mean. I started as a (probably delusional) size 16 and stayed in a 16 for ages, then in a 14 for ages, but burned through 12s and 10s and I now have a wardrobe full of size 10 jeans that are too big and a few size 8s that are ok. All my weight now comes straight off my shoulders and waist so only a couple of pounds can be the difference between jeans or a top fitting me and hanging like a sack. I've bought things I really like on the way back down, I like my clothes now and want them to keep fitting me! I've gone past my "normal" weight and all the clothes I was slimming back into are now too big which sounds like a nice problem to have but it's actually just annoying.

Have to say though, the weight range that a pair of Sweaty Betty leggings will fit comfortably is pretty impressive. I was in a L at my heaviest weight and it was only about 6 stone later that I had to say they are really getting a bit big now.

RayonSunrise · 23/09/2025 09:05

@evilharpyHaha, yes to the amazing stretchy leggings! I have been resisting living in leggings while WFH, but there’s a lot to be said for Lycra when you’re losing weight.

jay55 · 23/09/2025 11:33

I am grateful for the volume of drawstring waist joggers I have as a lockdown legacy. They might not be wear outside the home but have saved me on needing to buy anything for working at home. I do need to clear out the PJ drawer though as they are at the falling down stage.

One dress I bought for my holiday was far too big when I put it on again, disappointing to only get one wear from it. Luckily it was bought on sale.

Loving hearing about everyone’s clothing adventures and at the 9s on the scale, amazing.

The Sweaty Betty sale is on! When I started in November 24 I would avoid SB like the plague. I never thought I would fit into anything from there. My DD gave me large size leggings for Xmas and when I finally put them on at Easter they fitted easily.

But now I am contemplating a size medium in sale leggings and a running bra now I am on Week 2 of C25k. Just need to lose some belly roll.

For those who’ve been suffering with burning mouth syndrome, how does it feel? My mouth tastes very strange (since the weekend) - very metallic and food tastes odd. Throat is almost better, but still not right.

Am starting to think we have had the new Covid variant as this symptom seems familiar from what I’ve read. Have had Covid before but not like this (including while pregnant, where I had to take paracetamol to get my temp down, imagine the horror of the orange man if he knew!).

Any chance you could be pregnant? Metalllic taste was my main symptom…
or have you been stimulating your neck/jawline with a Nuface or similar? That’s the only time I get the same.

Hope you feel better soon!
