I know there are some bigger threads for August starters but if anyone starting next week wants to keep company please join me.
Starting with Juniper next week.
not going to get on the scales till the day it arrives as it will be too depressing just now.
tried for 2 years to shift weight- managed 12 weeks of no sugary treats and lost 3lbs!
im excited to see weight loss and nervous about the side effects

You fabulous lot are so reassuring, Thankyou.

I’m starving like a rabid dog. Actual hunger pains.
Having around 800cals a day, walked 29 miles last week, clothes definitely feel loose… 1 lb off. FFS.

Back to pre Mounjaro times with the perimeno insulin resistance, impossible to shift even minimal weight. Insomnia is crippling me along with the debilitating hot flushes, I’m not doing at all well.

Im using up my 2.5 then finding the money to go up, think I can afford 1 month so it will help to reset maybe an7lbs if I’m lucky.

After that, who knows, I’m resigned to always be fat with the associated health issues for the rest of my life.

Im gutted. Gutted that the key to my health issues is right there in a once a week jag, but it’s out of my reach due to cost. It absolutely works for me where nothing else ever has.

So happy for you, @Cliffedge25! That's an amazing loss.

800 calories really isn't a lot, though. Have you thought about how to make that workable when you eventually wean off the WLIs, or is this a secondary consideration to just getting the bloody weight off by any means necessary and worrying about maintenance later? I must admit I oscillate between these two positions. I'm currently averaging about 1300 calories a day, and worried that even that isn't enough. Today I've only managed 1069, and it feels as though I've eaten a lot more than that.

Weigh-in day three and stabbing time again for me tomorrow! At present I'm thinking I'll stick with 2.5 but will see how I feel when reordering time comes.

SerafinasGoose · 12/09/2025 09:32

No loss this week. Really disappointed with that.

I do feel healthier and better so am trying to view this as an overall, holistic picture over a long period rather than a race. Just the same, I'm feeling quite deflated (although not in the sense I'd like!)

Weightlosstimeforgood · 14/09/2025 10:54

@SerafinasGoose i had a week with no loss and a few days later 2 pounds came off so it’s definitely not linear. maybe weigh again in a few days.

my suppression is definitely not as good in the last week and I was eating 1800 calories per day and I’ve still lost 1 pound so I’m pleased with that.
I would be ok with 1 pound a week I think.

My insomnia and ‘on edge’ feeling that I had for the first month have completely gone on the low dose so I think I will stick with it for another pen if the weight is still shifting (even though it’s slow)

OP posts:
watfordmummy · 14/09/2025 13:12

I’ve still got one more dose to go (next Saturday) but again think I’ll stay on 2.5mg. I’ve lost 4kg since 25 August, much slower this time but I’d rather it was slow and I adjust eating.

Also going to change provider as I think with the most expensive 🙄

Honkeydonkey · 18/09/2025 07:12

Jab 6 today.
SW 12.8
CW 11.13
So pleased with that for 5 weeks.

I’m week 6 and my suppression is definitely minimal now
wondering if I should have gone up a dose!

Same. I’ve even put on weight in the past couple days! But that’s partly bc I became careless and complacent - wine in the evening, toast and jam for breakfast etc. Perhaps nipping bad habits in the bud will help prevent a big rebound further down the line when we stop?

Weightlosstimeforgood · 19/09/2025 12:33

I’ve ordered higher dose for my next pen
ive got a feeling im going to start gaining.
want another half stone gone by next month

I’ve stayed on the same dose for the third time. I’m losing slowly, but losing. Be interesting to see how you get on with higher dose.

SW - 81.19kg
CW - 73.48kg

Honkeydonkey · 19/09/2025 14:34

I stayed on the lowest dose for my 2nd pen and may do so again for my 3rd. Maybe I'll increase after October half-term for the run up to Christmas.

SerafinasGoose · 20/09/2025 14:09

Weightlosstimeforgood · 20/09/2025 21:59

@SerafinasGoose i found by week 6 on 0.25 it was having little to no effect so I’ve ordered 0.5 arriving next week
interested to see how it goes for you

Hmm, yes. I'm anxious to stay on as low a dose as possible for as long as possible. But admittedly this is what I fear will happen!

SerafinasGoose · 22/09/2025 11:50

Well, having as yet experienced few side effects I'm now noticing the odd palpitation - skipping of heartbeats then a sudden 'thud'. This is worrying - and a known side effect of Wygovy. The only response to this is to see my GP, rather than seek advice either from my online pharmacy or the www. Thankfully I already had an appointment in place on Wednesday for something else, which is just about soon enough as far as I'm concerned.

It will be too sickening if I'm told to stop taking it - but of course if this is the medical advice I receive then I'll follow it. But I'm so much more optimistic about my chances with the WLI than without.

Weightlosstimeforgood · 25/09/2025 07:35

@SerafinasGoose sorry to hear that- any update?

I'm suffering with constipation this week, any tips?
I’ve had prunes daily, sachets of fibogel and sennokot at bedtime. Doesn’t seem to be helping so far.

Constipation here too, can’t seem to shift it, resorted to dulcolax which of course the next day resulted in running to loo all the time

Milk of magnesia can help if you are really stuck.

I have a history of constipation due to underachieve thyroid. To prevent constipation I take biomed in milk every morning with a teaspoon of psyllium husk and a teaspoon of chia seeds (mix in a blender with a small banana to make a smoothie for breakfast). I also drink 3-4 litres each day and haven't had any constipation issues. Biomed and psyllium husk are both available from Amazon.

watfordmummy · 25/09/2025 16:22

Thank you for this, … off to Amazon

Yes - Dr is satisfied I don’t his murmur, no erratic patterns or anything to concern her so recommends I stay on the medication.

I had a health MOT last December when my BP was slightly high and they did an ECG, which was perfect at the time. To be safe she’s going to repeat that, just to be doubly sure nothing has changed.

She’s given me a list of symptoms for which I would need to seek intervention but no sign of any of those.

Meantime constipation is the pits - I haven’t been today either! Is even Senokot or a strong morning coffee not working? I’d ask your pharmacist.

Weightlosstimeforgood · 26/09/2025 07:40

That’s good news @SerafinasGoose

im taking to max senokot at night, prunes in the day
black coffee in the morning and if anything it’s like a rabbit poo (sorry)
period is a week away I sometimes get a bit constipated on this week but it clears when my period starts so 🤞🏻

will get milk of magnesia this weekend and give it a go.

Oh, that sounds miserable. I hope it clears soon!

I have an appointment with my chemist to get my third pen on Monday. After much consideration, I've decided to ask for 2.5mg again. I've started getting a little acid reflux when I go to bed and don't want to risk this being worse with a higher dose. My weight is falling off very quickly so don't see any reason to up the dose. I have a long journey of weight loss ahead so keeping the low dose as long as I can. Is anyone else sticking with the 2.5mg?
