I know there are some bigger threads for August starters but if anyone starting next week wants to keep company please join me.
Starting with Juniper next week.
not going to get on the scales till the day it arrives as it will be too depressing just now.
tried for 2 years to shift weight- managed 12 weeks of no sugary treats and lost 3lbs!
im excited to see weight loss and nervous about the side effects

Well on day 7 and 3lb loss, due my second dose tomorrow morning.

Days 1 to 3 I had no appetite and when I did eat I felt very full very quickly.
Day 4 started to feel hungry and day 5 more so, yesterday day 6 I have been staving but managed keep a calorie deficit and eat well, prioritising protein and fibre. Done a HITT work out and two 2 mile walks.

I have no side effect whatsoever!

Optimistic for next week!

Hows everyone else been?

Lovinglifeand · 08/08/2025 16:36

Really good hearing everyone's good first week. I was slightly light headed the first day but no symptoms at all since. I am following a strict high protein, high nutrient diet of 1500 a day as I don't want some of the side effects I've heard of like losing hair. I have a protein shake with biomel (gut health powder that prevents constipation) and collagen each morning with half of a banana and skimmed milk all whizzed up together and that seems to keep me full up till lunch. I am having trouble finishing my plate (unheard of for me) so am concentrating on having the protein and veg on my plate rather than anything else. I feel like my stomach is going to explode with a full plate of food! Drinking huge amounts of water and having apple cider vinegar with my meals to level blood sugars further (worth trying everything) SO on the whole really good. I have lost 6lbs already which is a lot but I am over 28 stone so I'm expecting the weight to drop off quickly at first. Beginning to get quite exciting that this might actually work! Very very glad that I'm doing this.

Had very 1st dose today and do not feel at all well. Headache, lightheaded and fluey.

hoping with all my heart that this works and that I feel better soon.

Just drink masses and eat regularly to keep your blood sugar level, hopefully it will only last a day or two.

Hello!
Thank you for this thread!
Your 1st week down - hope it's fulfilling everyone's expectations
I've requested a prescription of 0.25 wegovy - eagerly anticipating if my request will be accepted.
Tried for 3 years to remove the excess since my 4th baby.
I'm only 5foot 2 too and 13 stone.
Regular gym goer, part of my lifestyle for decades but just can't stop the eating and constant snacking! Like a full loaf of bread with jam - eating 2 slices whilst waiting for the rest to toast type of snacking.
Now I have painful feet I'm unable to walk anywhere which means more weight Pilling on probably.
Constant plays on my mind, like will I ever be back to how I know I should be. Reading all your stories has helped massively, don't feel so alone in all of this now.
❤️

Weightlosstimeforgood · 09/08/2025 10:52

@Menemo almost exact same height and weight here
i joined juniper and started 0.25 wegovy
first month £85

im down 4lbs this morning- I realise this is water weight but its nice seeing scales going down anyway!
no side effects
i said to my self earlier ‘I need to make sure I eat enough calories today’ that’s a new phrase for me!

same here @Lovinglifeand
trying to hit my protein goals now of 90g per day
going to add in a protein shake to my morning coffee and up my eggs and chicken.

if the 0.25 continues to be like the last 2 days I doubt I will need to up the dosage. Don’t want to loose too fast

@Cliffedge25 how do you feel today? I remember I instantly got a sore throat after injecting and I’m thinking it was some kind of immune response so maybe what you are feeling too

OP posts:
Cliffedge25 · 09/08/2025 11:19

Haven’t been able to leave my bed except to be violently sick and have awful awful diarrhoea. I feel so unwell. I have awful stomach pains too.

My concern is that the have vomited everything from yesterday including my prescription tablets.
That’s a worry.
I hope this is just a reaction that will settle in the next 12-24 hours.

Weightlosstimeforgood · 10/08/2025 12:07

I could not sleep at all last night until 5am this morning
I was wired to the moon.
anyone else feel like this?
im a zombie today. The only thing i did differently and possibly stupidly was have a protein shake with water before bedtime

OP posts:
Daftmum47 · 10/08/2025 19:23

Actually I did not sleep either! But I put that down to the fact I had my one and only coffee at 5pm, which is unthinkably late for me.

As chance would have it, it was a full moon last night too!

Daftmum47 · 10/08/2025 19:24

How are you doing now, @Cliffedge25 ?

Cliffedge25 · 10/08/2025 22:19

I know all of my symptoms are listed as “common” in the paperwork so I’m riding the storm but jeez.
Feel nauseous, headache will not budge and I feel so crap.
Im never ever unwell so this is really odd for me. I can’t remember the last time I had to go to bed because I was unwell, it’s years!
It also says it could last days or weeks!!!!

Anyone else had anything like this?

Weightlosstimeforgood · 11/08/2025 09:18

@Daftmum47 i was so scared I wasn’t going to fall asleep again but i’ve just slept like a baby- 10 hours.
i stopped any caffeine by 1pm yesterday and I plan on doing that from now on.
also both nothing else after dinner.

@Cliffedge25 so sorry about your side effects, what day is your jag day?

OP posts:
Cliffedge25 · 11/08/2025 14:36

Had very first one Friday just gone.
im worried that my next jag on Friday will be the same side effects.
Feel so unwell. ☹️

Ah gosh! hoping it gets better for you! Doesn't sound well at all! 💐

I don't think i will have my request allowed - as they want information from my g.p that i no longer have bulimia since the last 10 years. But I've got a feeling it's just going to be a up hill struggle getting any information from the docs.

Weightlosstimeforgood · 12/08/2025 08:34

@Cliffedge25 I don’t know how this drug works but other medication side effects usually last 1-2 weeks then taper off.
i was on sertraline a few years ago and i remember week one was weird, i was actually much more anxious, but then it got better and then absolutely fine.
however I know these side effects might be longer lasting. I don’t blame you being scared to try the next one. Why not do a few days off to recover and then try again if you are feeling better?

Unfortunately because it’s an injection, it’s in the system with no choice to stop it like you can a tablet.
It’s a weekly jag.

Im feeling better as the days go on thank goodness.
I’m going to take it on the chin with the next dose, hopefully the side effects will diminish with each dose, if not, I do have choices, I can try another as mounjaro might just not suit me.

Weightlosstimeforgood · 12/08/2025 09:41

I’ve just done jab 2 today and weighed in
-7lbs
sw 13 stone
cw 12 stone 7
happy with this and I know it’s water weight so now it’s the fat that will start coming off hopefully 🤞🏻

I’m on wegovy which is supposedly a slower rate weight loss and not as effective as mj but that seems to be fine for me so far.
I don’t think I need to increase the dose in 2 weeks- the suppression is strong but I’m still feeling hungry at meal times and enjoying food, I’d be scared if I went up a dose I’d start going off food and struggling to eat anything

@Lovinglifeand how was the weigh in?

@Cliffedge25 how are you feeling today?

OP posts:
GlmPmum · 13/08/2025 12:18

Half way through second week of 2.5mg and am bloody hungry! Am behaving though and feeding hunger with a protein shake! Weigh myself every morning after going to the loo and so far am down 6lb in 12 days! By weekend when I have third jab will be half a stone loss since starting on 2nd August!

Somethingsnapped · 13/08/2025 13:42

Well done everyone! I've taken the plunge (so to speak), and my pen arrived today!
I've decided to wait until Sunday to take it, as I have friends coming for the weekend on Friday, and don't want to risk feeling unwell or not wanting to eat while they're here.
Any tips anyone, for taking the first dose?

Weightlosstimeforgood · 13/08/2025 14:09

@GlmPmum had you appetite been suppressed last week?
well done for your loss so far!

@Somethingsnapped is it Mj you have?
im on wegovy and on 0.25 and I feel fine after first and second jag, (apart from one night of insomnia which was also the night before my period and a full moon!!), im doing good.
I think my advice would be just go for it and don’t get too nervous about side effects that you may or may not experience

OP posts:
Lovinglifeand · 13/08/2025 14:34

Week 1 weigh in
I was weighed at slimming world last night (have told the consultant that I'm on Mounjaro)
I have lost 11.5lbs! I just can't believe it, I'm so so glad that I started this. Dieting with appetite suppression is so much easier. I have such an incredibly long journey ahead of me but feel that I might actually make it this time

SW 28st 7.5lbs
CW 27st 10lbs
GW 13st

Weightlosstimeforgood · 13/08/2025 18:49

I ended up not eating for 5 hours there and had a couple of panic attacks triggered by low blood sugar- just a reminder to eat a little or have a fruit juice every few hours even if you don’t feel like it!
