I know there are some bigger threads for August starters but if anyone starting next week wants to keep company please join me.
Starting with Juniper next week.
not going to get on the scales till the day it arrives as it will be too depressing just now.
tried for 2 years to shift weight- managed 12 weeks of no sugary treats and lost 3lbs!
im excited to see weight loss and nervous about the side effects

I’ve started mounjano this morning! Hi!

I had put off starting until I got back from my holiday this Thursday just gone, was surprised it didn’t sting when I injected myself, I am a proper wuss and was dreading having to do it, didn’t even feel it go in!

Weightlosstimeforgood · 02/08/2025 10:28

Hi 👋
well done- hope the next few days are ok for you!
update any side effects
and are you usually a snacker, sugar fiend?
I am a chocolate and sugar addict! Fizzy drinks too.
I can cope with Nausea and diarrhoea- but sickness not so much (but I think that’s rarer and also food related)

I’ve been trying to loose weight for 12 months, healthier eating and 3 times per week at boot camp style gym but no joy! I am a sod for eating crap and as I get older crave more sugary stuff than ever before! My problem is clearly my appetite, eating crap between what are healthy home cooked meals (those home cooked meals are also bigger). Needed something to manage my cravings and bigger appetite so started on MJ after lots and lots of research!

started last month taking various vitamins and supplements along with collagen, plan to continue and when appetite starts to drop going make sure I am having a protein shake and will keep my fibre up too!

I am only aiming for 1lb a week and anything else will be a bonus! I weigh 14 stone at min and are a short arse, will be happy to just get to 12 stone to begin with!

How about you, where are you starting and what’s your aim, target, goals etc?

Weightlosstimeforgood · 02/08/2025 10:56

In short too 5’1 and about the 13 stone mark although haven’t checked yet
I was 9.5 stone at my best weight
im happy with even a stone off to begin with
It’s all around my middle though, my arms and legs don’t carry too much
same here I do HIIT, kettlebells, circuits and get my 10k steps in
i drink alcohol once every few months
its milky coffee for me and sugary treats and not been satiated after meals which I put down to being 40 now

also been trying for a baby for over 2 years now with possible endo which inflammation isn’t helping! Hoping for some weight loss and a fertility boost this year too 🤞🏻

You’ll do it, I am sure xx

Bunion8 · 02/08/2025 12:32

Can I join? I’m not in weight loss medication but have signed with a diet/nutrition coach to try and keep me accountable.
I need to lose 3 stone but keep gaining and losing the same 10lbs, the problem with that is as I’m post menopausal, I lose more muscle each time I lose weight. So this time I’ve got to do it properly and hopefully forever.
My problem is snacking. Years of dieting have led me to eat small meals but then I snack on treats in between meals.
i need to learn to meal prep and eat more fulfilling meals.
Hope it’s ok to jump aboard the thread, I need all the support I can get.

Cliffedge25 · 02/08/2025 17:31

Hello.

Just ordered munjaro.

Im big, I’m desperate, I’m ashamed.
Have about 5 stone to loose.

High blood pressure, breathless up hills, stairs and walking at speed.
Clothes look hideous on me.
Im getting fatter by the week.

Ive done every single weight loss strategy known out there. All failed.
Perimeno is crippling me. It is making it utterly utterly impossible.

I don’t want to die but I will. This now is my last and only possible answer.

Not sure when it will arrive but I feel very
hopeful and positive.
BRING IT ON, here’s to a new chapter in life.

Also, haven’t told anyone in my life. Only you all.

perimenopoppet · 02/08/2025 17:39

Just popping on to say well done all of you, you’ve just made one of the best decisions of your lives 😊 I went back and forth for months before taking the plunge in April when I found out a friend was using it, and already feel more like my old self 2.5 stone down with another 2ish to go. Good luck on your journey, it doesn’t take long at all before you will feel positive changes, may be the scales or may be otherwise first. Right now my best advice is to take lots and lots of photos, measurements or body scan using methreesixty app. It’s probably the last thing you want to do but you will regret it later if you don’t have the comparison! I just took them and used hidden folder on iPhone so didn’t keep seeing them.

also make sure to join the August thread it’s such a support chatting to those who start alongside you.

Lovinglifeand · 02/08/2025 18:22

I'm starting next week as well. Really looking forward to it and have cancelled plans for the first few days in case I get really nauseous. Currently bulk cooking to fill the freezer so family has food if I don't feel like cooking.
I've been the stuck in the prison of my body for too long!

Good luck everyone! I can't wait to see how everyone does

Somethingsnapped · 02/08/2025 18:37

Hi everyone. I'm on holiday at the moment, and am in the process of arranging a video call with one of the providers for when I get back. It's been on my mind for months, but I can't seem to take the plunge. My bmi was 35, but I dropped off a few points with intermittent fasting. It has plateaued for the last year though, so I need some help now, with bmi at 32. I don't even particularly want to get down below 25 bmi. I'm tall and would like to be about 12 stone, which would put my bmi at 26 I think. So 3 stone to lose ideally. I wish I wasn't so nervous about it! Best of luck to everyone!

Weightlosstimeforgood · 03/08/2025 08:07

Hi to everyone
let’s keep each other going!
I have a wedding to go to in 6 weeks and I keep thinking I could be a bit slimmer for it.
@Somethingsnapped same here, I didn’t like the idea of the injections for a long time and thought with determination I would manage it.

@Lovinglifeand ive meal planned for the next week too for family. Plan to make myself the same food and maybe only eat a little of each.

thanks for the tips @perimenopoppet i already have a hidden folder for the photos I had to send over to juniper- no one can see those!! Or maybe when I’m a lot slimmer i won’t mind showing them!

@Cliffedge25 I totally get you!! I’m scared if I don’t do something now, the weight is going to creep on in my 40s. Don’t feel ashamed- if it was simply all about a bit of willpower, we would all be fine. It’s hormones, emotions, age, work, life all rolled in.

I’ll be starting today.
my delivery is arriving this afternoon so I might take it after dinner
good luck everyone!

OP posts:
Cliffedge25 · 05/08/2025 20:01

Delivery due on Thursday.

ive got 70lbs to loose. Dear God I hope this works, I’m desperate. DESPERATE.

So sick of feeling and looking like this.

Watching all the insta posts which are frank and warts so it looks to be so promising.

By January 2026 I hope I will feel like a normal person for the first time in over 17 years.

Lovinglifeand · 06/08/2025 19:03

I took my first jab this morning, no side effects apart from being a bit light headed. I've calorie counted today and can't tell if my hunger is different or not but I did feel insanely bloated after lunch which was strange. I've been morbidly obese for many decades and there will be a lot of habits to break as I've often eaten when I'm not hungry just for the sake of eating. Listening to my body isn't necessarily reliable for me but at least I've kept to a calorie deficit today. How is everyone else doing?

Weightlosstimeforgood · 06/08/2025 20:06

@Lovinglifeand same here
took mine yesterday afternoon and instantly got a sore throat but don’t know if it was a coincidence. A bit light headed. Don’t feel any different about food yet.
calorie counted today and went to my exercise class
hoping side effects don’t kick in tomorrow 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I’ve said it on a different thread but I’ll say it again on here for new starters. I recommend that every time you inject, take your blood pressure and a fasted blood sugar. Then be thrilled as you see them come down alongside your weight!
The two machines aren’t hugely expensive but the info you get is invaluable - and hugely encouraging

Weightlosstimeforgood · 07/08/2025 08:43

@HappyWineDay ive got a blood sugar monitor, didn’t even think of that.
off to try now as I know what my fasting blood sugar generally is.

Update;
took jag on Tuesday and I’m down 2lbs since Tuesday morning

Two months ago my fasted blood sugar was 6.5, obviously taken first thing when I wake up of course. Now it's regularly around 4.7

Weightlosstimeforgood · 08/08/2025 09:12

@GlmPmum @Daftmum47 @Lovinglifeand
how are you guys feeling?
im feeling fine so far. No side effects to report apart from a little bit weaker/light headed but this is common anytime you cut sugar, eat less etc

OP posts:
Daftmum47 · 08/08/2025 11:00

I was feeling quite hungry yesterday! A little bit nauseous this morning, and I’m also wondering where all the poo has gone! I took tinned apricots for breakfast this morning.

This is a long haul thing, so I’m not particularly trying to keep my calories below anything less than 1500. If I only eat 1200, so be it. And a week of no alcohol is a bonus - I’m not planning to drink while on MJ, and I’ve never gone longer than 100 days alcohol free in my fairly lush adult life.

Daftmum47 · 08/08/2025 11:01

Oh, and my scales are very shonky but it looks like I’m down at least 2lbs since Monday morning.
