I know there are some bigger threads for August starters but if anyone starting next week wants to keep company please join me.
Starting with Juniper next week.
not going to get on the scales till the day it arrives as it will be too depressing just now.
tried for 2 years to shift weight- managed 12 weeks of no sugary treats and lost 3lbs!
im excited to see weight loss and nervous about the side effects

Yes good point weightloss I’ve reordered the 2.5 as these first 3 weeks have been sufficient for me. It’s all a “suck it and see” situation for me.

Clothing definitely feel more comfortable and I feel lighter somehow. Weigh day isn’t until Friday but I’d be surprised if I haven’t shed a bit more.

I have a question though.
Navigating eating out or social eating, what approach do you all take?
What choices do you make with how you feel about eating and food?

Thanks xxx

I have eaten out several times a week, I just choose the lowest calorie options available. Fish or salad based and without a sauce. It hasn't hindered my weight loss

SerafinasGoose · 27/08/2025 19:48

Mine just arrived today (Wegovy). Decided that I'll take my first dose on Friday evening, giving me the weekend recover should I experience any nasty side effects.

Could I ask what calorie counting apps people are using to track what they are eating?

Good luck on Friday. I use the app nutracheck, it's brilliant for keeping track of everything

Weightlosstimeforgood · 28/08/2025 07:33

Another whoosh for me
lost a total of 10lbs now since 5th August
so happy with this
12st 3 this morning

I was so sure I’d be up because I’ve had carb heavy meals this week and I’ve had an appetite for them too so been starving around meal times
so I think there’s definitely more to it than just appetite suppression because I don’t feel like I’ve massively been eating less than I would normally? Or maybe I’m in denial !

@SerafinasGoose would be interested in seeing how you go as I’m also on wegovy- most people are on MJ
the only side effect I’ve had is one night a week of insomnia- not sleeping till 4/5am
I’m also continuing my 2nd pen on the 0.25 as I feel that is working for me and I’m still enjoying food and looking forward to meals
Hope you are ok with it too

@Weightlosstimeforgood you must be thrilled with that! Great loss.

I've decided to go with Friday as my first dose. This isn't necessarily putting it off through fear (well, it is a bit). University teaching doesn't start for another month, but if I do battle side effects I'm on campus on Friday (120m round-trip) commute but not on Monday, so the weekend would give me time to recover!

I already feel better for having done the dumbbell weights fairly religiously and I've decided to swim at the lido today for a special treat.

I'll keep you posted.

4th 2.5mg jag yesterday and I feel so sick and so awful again today. Had really upset stomach this morning.

3lb loss this week, 10 lbs total since 8th August which is phenomenal.

So glad I chose a Friday to inject so I feel awful at the weekend and not on work days.

Met a friend who has lost nearly 5 stone on mj. Just miraculous!
Keeping going!
So proud of you all doing so well, it really boosts me on so thank you for keeping with the updates!

legoninja · 01/09/2025 17:43

Hi Everyone! Have been lurking here and thought I should introduce myself...

I've just taken my second jag 2.5 Mounjaro. I had a pretty non eventful first week - sulphur burps one evening, funny tummy another day but other than that pretty smooth sailing. I was so nervous to inject the first time though and for a couple of days after kept thinking 'God, I can't do that again...' but here we are!

Down 2 pounds week one, looking to lose 44 pounds in total which is what I've put on during perimenopause over the last couple of years... Fingers crossed this will work! As kids are back to school this week I'll be able to get back into a routine of gym/weights. I do love the 1st September, it feels like New Years Day to me! Have a great week everyone!

Flyingfruit · 03/09/2025 16:44

Today was weigh in day and 2nd jab day, I've been lucky so far and had no side effects apart from being thirsty. I lost 7lb this week which is amazing and more to the point I feel like the mounjaro has had some effect on my brain, I'm still enjoying food but I don't think about it non stop and I have no desire to binge eat. It's madness.

Weightlosstimeforgood · 04/09/2025 16:44

I was late ordering my second pen- just received today and haven’t jabbed for 11 days and my hunger has definitely come back- back to mindless snacking etc don’t dare step on scales till next week now!
makes me worry for coming off it though

When is it advisable to order the next one? I'm assuming my app will remind me but does anyone have any advice on this?

Edited

I've just had a prompt/reminder from my pharmacy to re-order 3 weeks after my first order. I'm due to take my last jab on Monday, so I'll order sometime in the next couple of days.

Weightlosstimeforgood · 04/09/2025 20:36

I’d advise a good week before you need it- mine took 5 days to arrive

This is why I’m hoping to stick to 2.5mh @Weightlosstimeforgood - I’m worried about the rebound back. But every body is different.

Weightlosstimeforgood · 05/09/2025 07:23

@Daftmum47 im sticking to starting dose too on wegovy.
so stepped on scales and I am up 3lbs which is not as bad as i thought! Basically eaten a fair bit every day and had alcohol all weekend then another few days of eating crap! So could be worse.
back on it now.
it’s a lesson on how I will have to change habits rather than just eat less and if I’m honest with myself- I’ve just been eating less of the same food to loose the weight so far.

Just wanted to add aswell that my cycles are usually 23-25 days- ovulation on day 10/11/12 and have been for years. Been trying for a baby for 2+ years
this first month on wegovy I’ve ovulated on day 14 and I’m now on day 27 with no sign of period yet (def not pregnant as holding off trying for now)
im quite amazed and I’m hopeful it is balancing my short cycle and I can hopefully conceive next year as a healthier weight 🤞🏻
reading so many anecdotal stories of women trying for years- going on glp1s and within months they are pregnant.
trying not to get carried away but it’s giving me a bit of hope anyway

Hi I’d love to join you all. I started on 1 August -

5ft 3 and was 12st 11

I started on 2.5 mounjaro for four weeks and re ordered 2.5 (to be honest out of partial panic due to price rises)

am now 11st 11lb

would like to change supplier as mine seems to be so much more expensive than others out there.

suppression not as high as it was the first four weeks (now coming to end of week 5) but fairly happy with it.

looking to lose at least another stone.

I have an infuriatingly short cycle and have done for 3-5 years as far as I can remember. When I was doing IVF my cycle was around 32 days.

This month I've gone 41 days, which is unheard of as I'm regular as clockwork. I'm sure I've been in perimenopause for as long as a decade.

I wish you every luck with starting your family. It's tough - I've been there.

Weightlosstimeforgood · 07/09/2025 09:40

Thanks @SerafinasGoose

so do you think the injections have changed your cycle too?
thats my period arrived on day 29 and I can’t believe it! I’ve not seen day 29 in about 10 years.

i do have other children but it’s the first baby with new husband so very longed for.

hoping I have some good news to share in the new year 😊🤞🏻

Weightlosstimeforgood · 07/09/2025 09:44

@watfordmummy similar stats here
5 foot 2 and started at 13 stone
currently 12 stone 6 but am going to weigh after my period as I usually drop a few pounds after that
I think I started around the same time too

I’ll be so happy to get into the 11 stone bracket!
well done

I know what you mean about the suppression- it was strong on the first few weeks but now I could snack any time, but I choose not to

im on 0.25 wegovy and it’s been £85 first month and then £149 so good price

All X for you. We only have the one (now 11), but even nowadays I'm a bit PFB, I think!

I'd skipped the period before I started taking Wegovy. But I must be getting near the menopausal age by now (53). Most other women I know of my age have already stopped.

I've also not seen day 29 for a very long time. I missed one cycle after my accident, trauma to the body I would guess - and after that they came back regular as clockwork.

Chinsupmeloves · 07/09/2025 17:21

First week here so yes! Xx

watfordmummy · 07/09/2025 19:14

@Weightlosstimeforgood we’ll get there !!

Ive been away for weekend and didn’t snack at all. It was hard as we were swimming and there’s a massive culture of cake after a swim, felt bad saying o, but seriously couldn’t have eaten it.

Lovinglifeand · 08/09/2025 10:09

Due to have my week 5 weigh in tomorrow and so far no weight loss this week. I seem to have plateaued for the past 10 days which is very hard considering I've stuck to my diet 100%. I'm going to have a low carb/high protein day and try and move more/low impact exercise to see if I can get fat burning back. I have lost a lot of weight so far but I'm very heavy so expect big losses. I also wonder if the golden dose I took last week was as effective as it was smaller than a full dose. But that should just affect hunger suppression not weight loss.
Is everyone else still losing this week or has any one else plateaued?

SW 28st 7.5lbs
CW 26st 12lbs

Weightlosstimeforgood · 09/09/2025 13:09

I’m week 6 and my suppression is definitely minimal now
wondering if I should have gone up a dose!

OP posts:
watfordmummy · 09/09/2025 13:43

I’m still getting suppression but like you think I should’ve upped the dose

SerafinasGoose · 09/09/2025 20:31

That’s interesting. I was wondering if I should go up to 5 next time. So far the 2.5 seems to be working, but I’ve seen quite a few people who were on the side of caution now saying they regret it!
