Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

@SerenePeer Just googled skims bralette and think I’m going to get one too! My bras are fitting weirdly at the moment and I’m intrigued by the whole concept too. Thanks for the tip!

@Mounjaropen love the blouse! Spotted the dress too, it’s absolutely stunning.

I can't wait to try mine when I pick it up!

One NSV that I have noticed is that I am starting to wear jeans and trousers that do not have to be heaved across my middle to do up! I used to think it normal that my clothes (and bra) dug into me and left grooves in my skin. It is enlightening to realise that a normal fit for clothes is to have a waistband that is slightly loose. And no muffin top.

Edited

Hell yes! I always just convinced myself I was the wrong shape and that's why trousers cut me half and I could see the pattern from lace knickers imprinted on my belly 😳🙄 Denial! I was fat and the 'wrong shape'.

Primark do some lovely soft leggings but in double sizes so a 14-16 and an 18-20. The former is still a way off but the latter, despite fitting fine everywhere else, were stabbingly tight around the waist initially. They're a delight to glide in to now.

I ordered some clothes this week from Vinted. My clothes are mainly size 18, though I can wear a 16 with a good stretch. I wore one of my regular size 18 dresses to work this week and when I got home DH told me it was massive and wasn’t looking good on me. So I’ve put that in the charity shop pile and I’ve ordered some dresses in size 14 from Vinted. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on new stuff as I’m hopefully just wearing these on my way to a smaller size. I haven’t ordered a 14 and actually thought it may fit me in years. I still don’t think I’m a 14 on my bottom half, but flowy dresses tend to hide how much bigger I am on the bottom. I seem to be losing more from my top at the moment.
So anyways, I’ve ordered some in the hope that they either fit, or they’ll fit soon.

The 14s I’ve ordered all fit 🤩 They’re all dresses, I don’t think 14 trousers would fit, but it’s nice to know I can confidently order dresses in a 14. I’ve got some size 16 jeans upstairs that have had the tags on for years so I’ll be brave and try them on. Although, I’ve also got some size 20 jeggings that I wore last year and I put them on the other week expecting them to have off me, and they felt as tight as they did last year 🤷‍♀️

Checking in after a hiatus! Congrats to all on victories both scale and non scale. I had quite a stressful business trip and found I had gained 2 lbs afterwards, although I know my calories were pretty good, so I am guessing it is water retention, lack of sleep and stress.

Funnily enough, now I am 3.5 stone down, I have been finding it hard to motivate myself to carry on, even though I am still obese according to the BMI chart. 15.5 stone must be a big set point for me! It's been really helpful reading through other people's experiences and it has given me a kick to continue as I really would like to lose another 2 stone (maybe a bit more).

I am now on 10mg (first week), transitioned with only one bout of the runs on the second night after the jab, and the suppression is good. What is hard is the odd feeling of missing out, I think now is when the psychology is rearing its head, and I must remind myself how far I have come and consider this blip good practice for when I come off the medication.

It is definitely all in my head, as I am having a little bit of what I fancy and then feeling full (so not denying myself), it's more of a rebellious feeling, a bit of a 'poor me' feeling, that others can have whatever they want and not me. It's an old, familiar feeling and I think the root of what has led me to overeat and drink too much in the past. Interesting! (And annoying!). Has anyone else come across this?
