Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Yes my asthma is a lot better Ive just weighed and im still 12.1 been hanging around that weight for a while but I never ever expected to get to this weight so I'm really happy hopefully my surgeon is impressed and can give me a date e for surgery

memphismayhem · 23/03/2025 10:35

Finally hit 3 stone loss 🎉 I’m over the moon. Recently moved up to 7.5mg and suppression is a bit too strong, thinking of counting clicks to just take 5mg for a while longer.

height: 5’5”
SW: 14 stone, BMI 32.6
CW: 10 stone 13, BMI 25.5
GW: 10 ish

starting to worry a bit about coming off now, am with Oushk so am going to book a consultation about maintenance as I know there’s a bit of a wait.

well done to everyone and it’s been great to have this online support. I still haven’t told anyone in real life 🤦‍♀️ I think I was quite good at disguising my weight gain so although you can tell I’ve lost weight (and people are commenting now), it’s been easier to play it down a bit.

Woohoo! ‘Many congratulations!

I’m 3.8lbs off my 3 stone badge. Maybe I’ll be there at the end of next week 🤞 unlikely to be this coming week.

We’re off for a carvery with my parents so it might not be my best day, but it’s all about moderation over the week and not putting life on hold. Beach walk with the dogs first though. Happy Sunday!

Cantbesure · 23/03/2025 13:21

I had the same @TeenLifeMumabout 6 years ago. I woke up and the room was spinning. I couldn’t lift my head up from the pillow. It was very scary. The gp put it down to vertigo and I had milder reoccurrences for a while that I treated with a type of antihistamine/anti-psychotic medicine. I then developed tinnitus and realised from the Davina programme it could be due to peri and it’s a lot better since being on HRT.

Cantbesure · 23/03/2025 13:27

Brilliant news about the surgery @murraymcgill you must be thrilled.

Ive only lost 1lb this week. My slowest loss on 7.5mg. I’m trying to tell myself weight fluctuations are something I am going to have to manage going forward. 4lbs from my current target. And I will get there. Even if it’s slowly!

murraymcgill · 23/03/2025 13:34

Yeah hopefully in the next few months à lot of recovery which I'm not looking forward to as ill probs put weight on thats why I'd like to get to 11.7 and if I put a bit back on I'll be ok

Anewdawnanewname · 23/03/2025 17:20

I ordered some clothes this week from Vinted. My clothes are mainly size 18, though I can wear a 16 with a good stretch. I wore one of my regular size 18 dresses to work this week and when I got home DH told me it was massive and wasn’t looking good on me. So I’ve put that in the charity shop pile and I’ve ordered some dresses in size 14 from Vinted. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on new stuff as I’m hopefully just wearing these on my way to a smaller size. I haven’t ordered a 14 and actually thought it may fit me in years. I still don’t think I’m a 14 on my bottom half, but flowy dresses tend to hide how much bigger I am on the bottom. I seem to be losing more from my top at the moment.
So anyways, I’ve ordered some in the hope that they either fit, or they’ll fit soon.

Polomintsareround · 23/03/2025 17:28

I have fallen off the wagon today and pressed the self destruct button!!

I totally ignored the wee voices in my head saying DONT EAT IT.

Since I started, there hasn’t been a day where I have gone over 1500 calories, but I have eaten that today easily with wasted chocolate calories.
I am so disappointed with myself, but it was so easily done!

I have been out for a lovely walk (5K steps) accompanied by my 6 year old grand child. It wasn’t exactly a “let’s get the heart rate going” walk .

So it’s home made soup for my tea tonight, and I will try to redeem myself.

Agreed! Well done everyone! 🌟

It’s amazing how far everyone has come since we started. Just imagine what we can achieve in the next 4 months!

I was thinking the same the other day, when I first started 22 Nov 24, it seemed like such a long way to go, and I was reading about people who were months ahead and doing great….now we are in that place 4 months in and 3 stone down (weigh day tomorrow 🤞)….. so pleased and feel great too. I still have a long long way to go but we got this x

Polomintsareround · 23/03/2025 18:47

I am currently in my office…aka the bath reflecting on why my mindset was so different today.

Then I realised that I took my jab on Thursday as normal but it was day 35 of the pen. This leads me to question the efficacy of the pen as it was 5 days over the recommended guidelines. Or am I just looking for an excuse 🤣.

Does anyone micro jab mid way through their week for a wee boost? If my suppression is low tomorrow I might do this.

OMG did my first 7.5 jab yesterday and today nausea is back with a bang. I’d forgotten how this felt like. Top tips please for coping through the day with what feels like really bad morning sickness.

RayonSunrise · 24/03/2025 08:22

Morning all, great to hear all your NSVs - I am also loving Vinted right now! I got a pair of smart size 12 Cos trousers on there that were bit tight when they first turned up 2 weeks ago, but as of this weekend they’re zipping up nicely with no pulling. Yay!

Did a LOT of walking this weekend and managed to keep my plantar fasciitis mostly at bay. Funny how it’s sore after I’ve been walking with my insoles, but not during. I hope I’m not making it worse, but I am tired of low activity now that there’s less of me to move around. Exercise is feeling so much easier.

How far into a healthy BMI are you all hoping to get? I’m only just out of the overweight range, and wondering if the pharmacies are using any rules of thumb for telling patients to start winding down, or if they leave it up to us.

Oh dear, that sounds really difficult. I noticed that 7.5 really killed my appetite in the morning - I just can’t manage for than an orange, and not til at least 10am. Haven’t felt quite this full for some time.

Unfortunately I have to lie down when I’m nauseous, which probably isn’t very helpful advice! Hope it doesn’t last all day.

WellyBootsandPuddleSuits · 24/03/2025 09:23

W20 D1 - yet another 5mg!

S/W 16st 7
C/W 11st 11 (well, that was yesterday morning, had a slight ‘gain’ this morning due to birthday celebrations…!)
G/W 11st ish

The scales did tip upwards this morning but that’s because I had pasta and a piece of birthday cake yesterday… I was very careful not to massively blow out yesterday with treating myself but still feel like I had an enjoyable amount of food (rather than feeling sluggish and uncomfortable)

I went out Saturday night in a pair of size 12 jeans and a M top, and I felt great. It was really nice to feel comfortable in how I looked, although I’ve come to the realisation that I really don’t know how to dress myself any more. Grabbing whatever top that covers me up and whichever jeans that fit just isn’t me now… and when I went clothes shopping I spent a lot of time aimlessly looking at things while desperately wanting someone to tell me what would look good.

Congratulations to everyone for their victories on and off the scales, yay for easier exercise and improved health!

Ginger tea?

potentially got my first 7.5 MG later but I have an event to go to tomorrow afternoon so I really don’t want to be nauseous. Considering doing 6.25 instead. I know we’re all different so it might be that I don’t get any side-effects at all, but I have to be able to attend tomorrow and I don’t really want to delay my jab by a day as Monday’s works for me.

That is an amazing loss! Congratulations!

I’m the same about dressing myself recently. But I have decided to embrace more figure hugging clothes which are far more flattering. I treated myself to this blouse over the weekend. I know it’s a huge sum of money but I’m obsessed with the dress that matches it but can’t justify £595! This will go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe and I can dress it up or down. I intend to wear it to my Mother’s Day lunch on Sunday. I ordered a size 12 🤞 previouslymy default position would’ve been a size 14 at least. But I do not want to allow myself the possibility of getting bigger after I have reached my goal weight…

Great news about the trousers! 👏 I’m concentrating on my weight rather than BMI. Plus also how toned I am which is more important to me at the moment. I’m curious to see how much of the crepey skin I’ll lose as I lose more weight. This is my new obsession.😂
