Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I stepped on the scale today and saw a 9 for the first time! Not expecting it to stay for long (I always seem to go back up), but it is also the 2 1/2 stone mark. And although I go up after my high-suppression lows, it does go back down. It does feel incredibly good to hit those 9s and gives me hope.

On the topic of HRT, I am confused about whether or not I should be considering it. I was told many years ago by a gynaecologist that I wouldn’t be able to take it (I was telling her about an utter emotional nightmare I had with a type of mini pill). I’m in perimenopause but my only really significant symptom has been weight gain. I am 51, but still have fairly regular periods. I haven’t bothered with it because I haven’t had the more challenging emotional or physical symptoms. Were any of you recommend HRT in those circumstances? I get the impression that the positive impact outweighs the potential negatives.

It might be worth getting a GP appointment to see what your options are, even if it doesn't feel the right time to start. I probably can't have standard HRT because I've had blood clots from the pill, but they said if it looks like I'll need some sort of HRT help that they could send me to someone for a more personalised approach.
As much as the chin hair is not the one, I haven't felt like any symptoms are bad enough for it to be worth it at the moment, but I'm all for it when it does feel right.

Well done to eberyone on the fantastic losses. I've been following the thread while being away. I'm home now, going to do the dreaded weigh in this morning on DILs digital scales. usually after our winter trip I come back 10lbs heavier. I've stayed on a 5 dose while away but have been eating more plus drinking alcohol. Hotel and restaaurant food for 9 weeks might have done some damage. fingers crossed that its not too bad. I'm upping the dose tomorrow.

Mounjaropen · 21/03/2025 07:37

Happy Fri-yay everyone!

End of the week weigh-in… 11st 1.6lbs. Tantalising close to a major stone bracket for me and one I haven’t seen for at least 20 years….With a concerted effort to not drink my own body weight in wine this weekend I should see the 10’s just in time for Mother’s Day 🤞🏻

I then have just under 10 weeks before my holiday during which I’d be ecstatic to get to the 9’s (ultimate goal). The last time I broke a stone barrier was the 20/21st January so that was 8 weeks ago. Upping my dose to 7.5mg should help but I’m acutely aware that this next stage will be the hardest to crack. I’ve booked my Oushk consultation but I think MedExpress might try and retain my custom.. who knows? I noticed that on the documentary last night the woman they were following was on a maintenance dose of 5mg which seemed high to me?

Kardashians incline walk planned for this morning (50 mins at 6% incline at 3.7mph) plus a 40min upper body sculpt and burn is next on my Pvolve calendar (my 5th class of the week!) my bingo wings are sadly still with me but my arms are slowly toning up. I doubt they will ever rival our patron saint’s (St Jennifer of Aniston) but we live in hope 😂 My step count average this last week was 10,380 which I’m happy with given that on Sunday I did bugger all (less than 3200).

I had a really good nights sleep last night so I’ve woken up with some va va voom! and gratitude for both being able to afford this journey and the fact that I have the ability to be mobile - so many don’t.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

After what can only be described as an absolutely JOYOUS poo (easy passage, decent volume)........

I'VE FINALLY EARNED MY 3 STONE BADGE! 🎉🎉🎉

Feeling grateful - Mounjaro is a life-changer

MsRumpole · 21/03/2025 08:16

Today I lost another 2lb taking me to a 10% weight loss! 2 stone 7lb lost so far.

MsRumpole · 21/03/2025 08:16

I'm averaging exactly 2lb per week weight loss so sticking with 5.0mg.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 21/03/2025 08:22

Yay, @MontyJinks and @MsRumpole ! Amazing work! Well done, both of you.

Adding to the happiness by saying - I have hit my 30lb mark! 10 st 5. Only 9 lbs to go to a healthy BMI. I was last this weight at my sister’s wedding in 2017.

@MontyJinks @TooExtraImmatureCheddar this all seems to be going very well - congratulations!

phyllidafosset · 21/03/2025 09:17

@Mounjaropen Woohoo!!!! Sending you woosh vibes for that 10 bracket, and keen to hear how your 7.5 goes. Your exercise regimen is incredibly impressive, and I love your Friday enthusiasm 😊

My mum was on HRT and it very sadly hasn’t stopped the dementia, but I think what would have made it worse for her was the anxiety. However, as you say @PinkArt, these things might be something to discuss with a doctor.

I am loving all those milestones ladies and gents. It has been a smoother journey for some than others, but a weight loss thread with so much positivity is an incredible thing.

I today found the secret to a younger looking face! Have a wisdom tooth removed! The swelling smooths out the jowls very effectively (at least on one side of the face!) 🤣🦷

Sore mouth aside, I got my husband to drag down a suitcase which I suspected had my missing way too small clothes, and it did, and I had the very satisfying experience of finding that a lovely dress I bought many years ago that I thought had shrunk seemed not to have shrunk, rather I would just have been a bit too big for it so it rode up! I have lost much faster on my legs than my stomach and waist (which is also where all the weight had gone on), so I just need a bit more off my stomach.

Have a good day everyone!

Della82 · 21/03/2025 09:30

@MontyJinks hurrah for the joyous poo! I’m 3lbs off 3st loss! Well done for hitting that milestone 🥳

@Mounjaropen I’m sure 7.5 will help you on your way to holiday goals!
my bingo wings are stubbornly staying with me but I do have some definition appearing so my arm stuff is making a difference!

I guess bingo wings, lower stomach and inner thigh are the last bits to go 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m so grateful to have been able to do this journey and to have such a fab group to share with!

@MsRumpole what a fantastic milestone! Well done! And 2lbs a week is a great rate to lose at!

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar 30lbs is awesome well done 👏

@phyllidafosset sorry about your sore mouth but yay for finding your skinny clothes! Love fitting into old things again 💪

Love positive Friday 😁😁

Sending you speedy recovery vibes! I had a complete smile overall during lockdown - braces, implants, veneers, crowns, whitening, the works. 3 unexpected root canals put a downer on proceedings so I know how you feel.

woo hoo for the tiny clothes reappearing. Enjoy!

We are roughly at the same pace, so sending whoosh vibes to you too.

Off to make a tropical fruit salad and prep poached salmon for my lunch before my Pvolve and the cleaners arrive…I must be getting fitter as I didn’t need a drink at all during my Kardashians walk 💪🏻 I’ll take that right now.

Fuuuuuuuuuck, I've gained a pound this week so have no longer lost 3 stone. I know blah blah weight loss isn't linear but that's my first gain week on mounjaro so far and I guess I thought it wouldn't happen. Fuck, fuck, fuck.

I'm bonus dosing today and then moving up to 7.5 so hopefully that'll push things back in the right direction.

qotsa · 21/03/2025 11:45

@Mounjaropen😆🤣 I know. I wish. Trouble is I have my three full pens in the fridge and think I’ll be done then. That credit would’ve paid for my entire treatment. Not really much else to spend it on 🤦🏻‍♀️ 😆

Don’t panic! What do your food macros and measurements say for the week? All might not be lost. The answer is there somewhere!

Another 1.5lbs down and I have now lost exactly 3.5 stone! I am fully down another size and purged my wardrobe today of all my size 20 stuff that was looking baggy, a Vinted afternoon is calling! I also rediscovered a whole load of lovely dresses that I had been avoiding because they didn't fit or looked awful on me. Not only do they fit, but they are loose! One of them I only tried on a few weeks ago and it was still too tight, now it is sitting lovely! I have a work conference coming up and a wedding and I was worried about what to wear, but I am sorted!

It is such an amazing feeling to know that I am not just edging down a size, but properly down a size!

However, I now need to tackle the issue of my knickers, they are all suddenly up to my belly button which isn't very pretty!

Congrats! Huge achievement 👏🙌 And a new wardrobe too!

I have been buying the no vpl Brazilian style knickers from Sainsbury’s for the time being. Pack of 3 - good for working out without chafing and cheap. When I get to my final destination weight-wise I will have a splurge on some fancy knicks.
