Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Hello all, hope good weekends were had.
Last week I changed injection sites, I still had a bad side effect day but it was a day later and not as extreme as the week before. Fatigue was not so bad either.
The .5kg I lost last week promptly went back on and stayed until Sunday morning, the morning after a few glasses of fizz, an ice cream at the theatre and meal out after, because obviously.
It was a lovely day out on Saturday and I didn’t eat anything else that day. Sunday I took myself for a roast and ordered the cauliflower cheese side, I couldn’t manage it all but what I had was delicious. Felt nice and normal.

Jabbed in other arm this morning. Will weigh in on weds.
NSV the jeans I bought for my holiday in December are already too big. I almost feel like my body has been rearranging itself during my stall.

RayonSunrise · 24/03/2025 12:07

That is a heavenly blouse, @Mounjaropen - hope you feel great in it on Sunday!

SerenePeer · 24/03/2025 12:25

Checking in for the start of another week!

Decided to trial my weighted vest on a outdoor walk this morning and phew! Cannot believe how much harder it is to walk uphill with a 5kg vest on (especially considering I've lost more than double that!)

I'm loving all the 3 stone lost milestones and the healthy BMIs! Well done everyone - so chuffed for you all! 🥳🥳🥳

I seem to be obsessing over my upper thighs at the moment. My legs were always my best feature and a lovely shape...but since dropping weight, my inner thighs are definitely looking like melted candles 🫠😭 Gutted this means I won't have the confidence to wear shorts in the summer. Do we think that's just the price we pay or is there anything I can do? Inner thigh toning exercises please everyone!

In other news, I had a good chuckle when I put my bra on this morning. My poor boobs have shrunk so much that my bra now has lots of space for extra storage of snacks 😂 Have hastily ordered a Skims bralette to collect at Selfridges when I'm in London on Wednesday - I've no time for a bra fitting at the mo and don't want to sink £70 on a bra that might be too big in a few months!

Dreamqueen · 24/03/2025 12:35

@Mounjaropen that shirt is epic.

Well that sounds like you enjoyed yourself..and we will all have to get used to eating out with smaller portions. Great news about the jeans too!

Happy birthday @WellyBootsandPuddleSuits 🎂
I’m debating what the right weight/BMI is @RayonSunrise and it’s very much now focusing on sagging skin and my face looking older. My target weight is about BMI 24.3 so at the top end and about 4lbs away. I currently feel slim but not quite there and would like to bring my fat down a bit. So I’m thinking my goal will be around 23 and 24 BMI and somewhere between 9-12lbs away.

@SerenePeer I have noticed the inner thigh sagginess too. Everytime I plank I’m confronted with it! There is the abductor/adductor machine at the gym I think I need to be more friendly with. I’m also applying my aveeno skin renewal.

@Dreamqueensorry to hear 7.5mg has made you feel rotten. Have you tried electrolytes for nausea?

@Mounjaropencor, that blouse is stunning!!

Currently looking at a weighted vest also... cheap one from Matalan (£30).

My inner thighs look like a set of 1980's festoon blinds 😂I've been doing my Pvolve religiously but I will need cycling short under my tennis dress (that I am yet to purchase) for sure. I'm hoping that the situation will improve as I drop weight. My arms are getting more toned but I won't be Jennifer Aniston's arm stunt double any time soon.... :-(

I'd recommend going to Rigby & Peller if you are in London. They are awesome at fitting bras properly. I went at the start of the millennium and they fitted me so I no longer have massive dents on my shoulders from my huge norks. I'd love to be able to shop at skims but I don't think that their lovely products could hold these puppies up 😂

Looking at photos from the weekend, I still have a fat face 🙈 losing 30lbs is have expected my face to reflect that more.

following Saturday’s slow 5k my legs are hurting. Maybe should have started with a 3k in hindsight.

Love Rigby & Pellar! Treated myself to a few bras from there when I stopped breastfeeding many years ago. Poor dh is a bit dismayed by the shrinkage of the girls, but I'm delighted! Skims or bralettes have never been an option to me, but the shrinkage is so severe, I finally have small enough norks!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/03/2025 13:37

I got an interim bra (34F instead of 36G, yay!) from Ann Summers via the Next website - £16! Much cheaper than my Freya or Bravissimo ones.

My inner thighs have weird bulges halfway between crotch and knee. I’m hoping that goes away! I don’t know whether it’s skin or lack of muscle or what.

@Mounjaropen, that is a fabulous blouse!

I am 8ish lbs off a healthy weight (which would be 9st 10). I want to keep going so I’m not just on the cusp of overweight but I’m not aiming for super thinness. 9 stone would be a BMI of 23, but I’ll probably aim for 9 st 4 and see how I get on.

I think I'm going to have to get an interim set of undies too.

Also have the leg bulges :-(

DH hasn't really mentioned the shrinkage yet. Although we are both very amused by the fact that they look like they are trying very hard to run away when I lie down 😂

Just weighed as today is jab day. After yesterday’s massive roast beef and piece of carrot cake I was expecting a gain but I’ve lost 1lb and I’m now just 1lb away from not being classed as “overweight”! Still need to get more comfortably into the healthy zone but we’re talking half a stone left to lose.

need to start upping my weight sessions to help with toning as I lose the last bit.

so many amazing losses on here and such a lovely supportive chat, even for those of us who dip in and out. Mj really is a game changer and the more I think about it the more annoyed I am gps make it so hard. Mine wanted me to try dieting with weekly weigh ins at the surgery with a health coach… I have a full time job and 3 dc so unless the appointment can be 11pm at night, I don’t have time for that so it’s setting me up to fail.

Well done!

I agree about GP surgeries in general although mine does seem to be the exception to the rule. If they all just used the available technology for those who can operate it so much time would be freed up - leaving space for the elderly or those not able to use it for whatever reason.

@SerenePeer Just googled skims bralette and think I’m going to get one too! My bras are fitting weirdly at the moment and I’m intrigued by the whole concept too. Thanks for the tip!

@Mounjaropen love the blouse! Spotted the dress too, it’s absolutely stunning.

A nice thing from today, I'm wearing a pair of tailored trousers with no stretch at all and they aren't uncomfortable!

First time in AGES.

They are size 14 but I've bought the same in in a 12 so I can still wear the full suit if I go down another size.

Well done! Great decision to buy two sizes of trouser.

I'm enjoying wearing clothes that don't feel like my circulation is about to be cut off. And with no shape wear!

@Cantbesureive been sipping some rehydration stuff that I found in the medicine travel bag and had a lanzoprole tablet. Just found some anti nausea tablets, going to save them for the morning. Today has been a complete non starter. I’ve been in bed most of the day as I feel better when horizontal. Thankfully being old and retired has its advantages on days like today.

Well they were under £20 each from Primark. Usually not where I shop, but I was surprised and impressed by the quality when I wandered in. The suit is better than the Reiss one I tried earlier that day.

LilyRose88 · 24/03/2025 17:50

One NSV that I have noticed is that I am starting to wear jeans and trousers that do not have to be heaved across my middle to do up! I used to think it normal that my clothes (and bra) dug into me and left grooves in my skin. It is enlightening to realise that a normal fit for clothes is to have a waistband that is slightly loose. And no muffin top.

Freya and fantasie bras currently
on sale on brandalley variety of styles at about £20 mark. If you haven’t shopped there before can send referral code via DM to get a bit more off too.
