Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Hi all would tell yous all my stats but I'm watching the football ⚽️

Cantbesure · 26/02/2025 21:20

Oh wow. Thread 8! Funny you should say about needing new swimwear, I've started to go swimming and pulled out a costume from last summer. It was so baggy on the bottom it would have been obscene to wear!!

Thank you for the new thread, @Mounjaropen!

It's interesting you describe that as not food noise as that's exactly what I'd call it. To me food noise and hunger are completely separate things. The latter could be urgent, especially getting home from work and needing tea asap, but was based on my body needing food as fuel. Food noise though wasn't physical hunger but that creme egg voice that won't shut the fuck up until you've eaten one, felt like all is lost and eaten the rest of them.

@PinkArt, I have actually rethought that slightly because I didn’t eat a crème egg, but I did order takeaway instead of cooking properly and started to wolf it like I used to. I hit about two thirds of it and couldn’t eat any more, but it’s been a long time since I had that urge to inhale food. I think you might be right and it is food noise - I’m on D6 of the bonus dose and I think it’s both time for the new jab and time to go up a dose, which will happen on Friday. My period is also nearly a week late which might well be contributing to the sudden munchies. I keep getting surprised at how subtle MJ can be - which also means it can be hard to spot it wearing off!

Morning everyone,
just to confuse you, its me …..@Lovealongbath,

Weekly weigh in…

3mg dose

2lb loss this week

CW 16st 3.5

SBMI 43
CBMI 38
Still a long way to go to be in healthy range

Hello all 😊

Wk 15D3 (+2 because my jab day has slipped by 2!).
5mg
SW 12.6.8
CW 10.5
GW 9.7

Morning all! So, I did weigh yesterday and I was delighted to see I had dropped a lot since my weekend (1.8lbs). I do find it really bizarre that the difference from a Sunday to a Tuesday (with a jab on Monday) always seems to be quite big (and then some sometimes goes back). But I guess that is when I eat more vs. less. It doesn’t make it feel like it is a miraculous property of MJ though.

I think I will stay on 5mg. I get huge suppression and then much less, but whilst I worry about the much less bits, I don’t think I should extend the bits with really strong - I wouldn’t eat enough. I still can’t believe I am going to (hopefully) get back to the 9s. That feels like past me.

I measured my metabolic age yesterday (at gym), and it was down from 47 to 44 😁💪 (I’m 51, and it started at 48 a month ago). I am loving this as a reinforcement, and I am hoping to get to the 30s!!! I really hope that keeping up the exercise will help the maintenance (when I get there).

Ooh metabolic age rate you say? How is that measured?

Great losses! Well done!

WeakAsIAm · 27/02/2025 08:23

Morning all.

First check in for a while, but still lurking.

W18 D4
Current dose 6.6mg (split with 2 injections per week to manage symptoms)

F45
SW 13st 6lb
CW 10st 10lb
TW 9st 7lb
Total loss 38lb
SBMI 32.6
CBMI 25.7

6lb to go til healthy weight range.

Hit a plateau 3 weeks ago, bouncing around with 1lb on 1lb off. Struggling with food noise but increasing dose leads to bad side effects so trying to manage as I am.

Currently with Oushk as I plan to continue with maintenance as I don't feel I will be able to manage without MJ on level. Not decided how that will look yet.

I've noticeably lost weight now, monitoring my face closely especially my neckline as I'm conscious of a 'turkey neck'. My tummy is stubbornly flabby 🙄😒

Onwards to us all, we've come so far. Thanks for the new thread @Mounjaropen

Checking in!

F43 (menopausal after cancer)
WK15 D5 on 3.75 mg
SW 93.1 kg BMI 30.1
CW 79 kg BMI 26.1
GW 75 kg BMI 24.8 (but may adjust this when I see my endocrinologist next month)

I'm doing well again on 3.75 mg. I had to drop down from 5 mg after GI issues.

W16 D1

SW 90 kg
CW 74.8 kg
Total loss 15.2 kg
w15 loss 0.8

i did eat out the last 2 nights which led to me putting on 200g 😂

my loss has slowed a bit but I think my hormones are at play too.

might up my dose or jab every 6 days for a bit, I have 2 unopened 5mg pens in the fridge, so I could count clicks and increase. I think I’m a bit nervous as I did feel wiped out for the first 2 months on day 2 and I don’t have that now, I’d be reluctant to go back to that feeling!

I was talking to a friend about WLI (the one i mentioned previously) she is going to give them a go. Her doctor offered her a gastric
sleeve but said he couldn’t prescribe her WLI

it is so frustrating that they are offering invasive high risk surgery that requires hospital time when there is such pressure on our hospitals over a simple medicine that can be administered at home 😤😤

Thanks for the new thread @Mounjaropen i definitely need to go swimwear shopping 😁

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 27/02/2025 09:35

Thanks for the new thread Mounjaropen 👍 can’t believe we’re on thread 8!

The sun is shining, my house is in a state of utter destruction and the bikini emoji in all honesty has made me wince (still v much needing those big winter layers to hide behind! 😬) BUT new day, new thread an all that! 😁

Am pretty resigned now that MJ at least at this dose is doing nothing for me so am going to HAVE to dig deep to find some bl**dy motivation from somewhere, crack on despite the fatigue and food noise. It’s like going it alone all over again (sob) but maybe this brilliant med will come into it’s own for me at a higher dose, have not lost hope yet.

Oh and people on here are getting disgustingly skinny btw, please stop it or at least take me with yoooooooou!…’🛟 😂

Della82 · 27/02/2025 09:40

@KeepCalmandGiveItaGo you’ve got this!

what dose are you on currently?

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 27/02/2025 09:41

@KeepCalmandGiveItaGo you’ve got this!

what dose are you on currently?

I’m on week 3 of 5mg and just ordering my next pen now - a 7.5mg.

I don’t think I’ll bother with golden dose either this month, just want to step it up and hopefully get back the benefits of MJ.

Della82 · 27/02/2025 09:47

Sending you whoosh vibes 😁

Moving up next week as well @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo i will be going to 3.75 for a week then 5mg

weekend away from Friday with old university friends so that is likely to result in no weight change for me

All the best with your dose up Pumpkin, and hope you have fun with your friends at the weekend!

In hindsight I think I would have done better if I’d stuck on 5 rather than dropping back to 3.75, was scared off due to dramatic and unpleasant diarrhoea and gastric symptoms on day 2 but I think it would have settled if I’d stuck it out and the losses might have carried on. Not going to make the same mistake if the running D’s come back when I go up to 7.5! Will just ride it out until it settles. Need the effects of MJ (the good ones!) to kick back in or no point staying on it really. Am wondering if is related to my physiology, I typically need higher doses of medications for them to work, needed a minor op previously and the amount of local anaesthetic they had to use would have numbed out a rhino! 😂
