Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I have zero motivation beyond exercising (bizarre)…yesterday I even did a peloton spin class as opposed to writing an email! So, if you don’t mind indulging me and to make myself accountable I am going to write my to-do list here so I can check on Monday to see how much I achieved..want to do the same?

Here’s mine…

  1. Order Birthday Cake and Balloons for DD’s birthday
  2. Write an email concerning insurance
  3. Report a serious breach of data to the ICO by a firm I deal with
  4. Write a report about a concern I have to a professional body about the behaviour of a legal firm.
  5. Make a start on my firm’s accounts…(I put this off every year)
  6. Pay my Amex bill
  7. Fix my Energy costs
  8. Move some money in some accounts I have which have a poor interest
  9. Pay DD’s car tax
  10. Pay an outstanding energy bill from a property we used to own (they’ve come back to us 5years later for £58!)

I promise you I don’t spend hours writing complaints but I sometimes let things build up (and watch Netflix or other shite) so I am placed under pressure so I work harder….I know this is idiotic!

Anyway, as you were.

Nice list! 👍 good to get it down and check things off, especially admin stuff, I am bad at tackling jobs like this until they become urgent! 😂 let us know how you get on 🙂

I think I’ll wait until I’m doing a bit better and circle back to this. Am struggling with my autoimmune atm, (having a bad flare) and in my current state I’ve only really got one thing on my list aka get through the day 😬 Xx

Woohoo! I’m off to a random Greek island at the start of June! Can’t wait to waft about in my Yoga separates enjoying the complimentary yoga like one of the polished people 😆

Oooh which island? I used to go as a child. This is my first time taking dh and dc and likely our last proper family holiday. We’re going to mainland Greece near Olympia. I cannot wait! And I’m so excited to be going on holiday and not being fat!!!

I’ll have to look up the name. I know we fly into Santorini and have to get a boat transfer. DH loves to sort the holidays so I let him. He’s better at that than ordering heating oil or indeed the washing once he spills the emergency oil on clothes 😂

Also looking forward to not being eeeeeeenormous 🥰

On the good side, I am now going to Sardinia in September for a long weekend, hurray!

On the bad side, I have managed to put 4lbs on overnight with one takeaway. 4lbs! FFS. I know it will be mostly gone tomorrow but I’m still cross.

Ooh sounds lovely. You’ll be positively skeletal by then!

I aspire to be a wafty person. I got a bit obsessed with those One Hundred stars robes (via Vinted) and in my head waft around the garden in them, sipping an espresso and running my fingers through a herbaceous border. I don't have a garden!

I do love a Kaftan though. Previously it was because they were loose. Now I might look tres chic 😉

I've just seen my mil for the first time in a while and she was so impressed by my loss she's going to give it a go! Spreading the mj love! 💙

Mounjaropen · 28/02/2025 08:37

Happy Friday everyone!

Given up on my old scales, the fluctuation between stepping on and off is about 4 lbs which indicates to me that they’ve died…RIP Salter scales. The floor is tiled in large tiles so the surface is steady so I don’t think it’s that.. Not gonna lie, I’ll be devastated if the new scales put me at more than 11st 6.

Currently no loss this week despite me low carbing, clean eating, exercising so an alcohol free night for me tonight. This week I’ve 5% incline walked every day (about to do todays to the latest Kardashian epioside) at 3.5mph no stopping for at least 50 mins, pvolved every day with each class an average of 40 mins, done 2 low impact Peloton spin classes to see how my knees felt (they were fine but DH had to Theragun my arse through my clothes as that was complaining.. that’s love for you 😆) walked the dog for at least 1.5-2 miles every day and played tennis. It isn’t like I’ve sat on my (admittedly sore) arse so I do feel a bit cheated my loss is a mere 200g 😭 I’m going to do a Methreesixty later to see if I’ve at least lost inches. I know I’m fitter, I literally needed no water during an hour long Tennis lesson yesterday (down from needing to stop every ten mins to take on board water and have a breather), I barely need any during my incline walk (down from needing 500mls during the same in October) nor during a peloton class so I know all is not lost.

I’ve done the econsult, but dizziness/light headedness/BP are not drop down menu options… I don’t know why? Anyway, resting pulse is 85 which seems high for only having 1 coffee per day and BP is slightly up. We’ll see if I get a reply,

Tomorrow DH and I are doing a cookery school class in London making Vietnamese food so that should be fun - and I will have a glass of wine but I’m going to try and consciously drink less this weekend.

Onwards to tackle my to-do list! 💪🏻

Bloody hell @Mounjaropen. You deserve to lose weight after all that. I wonder if it's hormonal? Have a lovely cookery class and glass of wine.

I still haven't recovered from switching scales yet. I'm trying to remind myself that the old shitty bastard scales lied but the result is I've no real idea where I started this journey and how much I've lost... on reflection maybe it's linked to my preference to focus on my clothes size (much to Vinted's advantage).

Going up a dose is kicking in and suppression is back properly. I want a whoosh 😂

Pumpkinforever · 28/02/2025 09:22

Are you going to the Avenue Cookery School @Mounjaropen

I have done a couple of those - great fun. We have done a Sri Lankan class and a South American street food class.

SerenePeer · 28/02/2025 09:23

Happy Friday all you skinny bitches and soon to be skinny bitches!

@Mounjaropen I'm exhausted just reading that! You must be due a whoosh.

Stepped on the scales this morning and I'm now down to 81kg 🥳 Delighted to have survived 4 days in London for work with great suppression but no side effects. Phew! Really proud of myself for the food choices I made too. Could have fitted in a gym sesh really, but I walked my now smaller butt off, so that will do.

Also, random NSV....my usual walk from my hotel to the office takes a good 40 minutes. But this week I was nailing it just over 30 but didn't feel like I was walking faster - guess that's what having 2 stone less to cart around does!

I'm not feeling very motivated to work today at all. All I want to do is watch Yellowstone.

Pumpkinforever · 28/02/2025 09:24

I want a whoosh too @DarkForces it will definitely be next week when I move up to 5mg.

Cantbesure · 28/02/2025 09:33

That's a lot of exercise @Mounjaropen I think you would coach us, in your lovely positive way, by saying that you may have built muscle during all that activity or that your muscles are currently in repair and holding on to water. Being active is certainly positive and those increases in your fitness levels are a huge NSV. 🤩

I'm at the gym after work today. On a Friday. What is happening to me?! 😂

No, I’m not. Where is that one? I’m doing the Jamie Oliver cookery School not sure how good it will be but should be fun anyway. We did a beef Wellington masterclass at Fortnum abd mason which was excellent and really good value. You got to eat a beef Wellington whilst you were there and took one home each!

I know I’m being silly really. My fitness levels have obvious health benefits dizziness aside and it took me ages to get from the mid 12’s to see 11 on the scale so I imagine it’ll be the same here. In two months time I’ll be whingeing because I haven’t seen a nine either 🤣

Woo hoo! Congratulations on those elevated fitness levels and positive food choices 👏

It’s Friday so I absolutely think you should celebrate with copious amounts of Rip and a quick Google of ranches for sale in Montana. I do this more times in a week than it is healthy. DH is a big Kelly Reilly fan and I do aspire to have her arse at some point in the near future 🤣

Avenue Cookery School is in Wandsworth. Short walk from station @Mounjaropen

We did a family visit there with adult mid 20s kids. Was a hoot and comes with plenty of wine.
