Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Took my first 7.5mg earlier - so far so good! Fingers crossed for a whoosh.

Have everything crossed!

It's good that your dr was so thorough @Mounjaropen

Good luck on 7.5mg @TooExtraImmatureCheddar

Just getting into my gym gear. Surely I should be letting the wine breathe?!

I've sent a request to move supplier to Oushk today and booked a maintenance consultation at the end of April. Eek.

Same here @phyllidafosset We were doing Hello Fresh and it made life so much easier but dh is a fusspot and would happily live on bran flakes, mashed potato, beans on toast and just toast. So then that gives the kids an excuse to opt out too 😡

That is EXACTLY what has happened in my house! In the end, it caused so many arguments that we have stopped it. The stupid thing is my kids were fine with all the food until they noticed DH wasn't eating any of it.

Omg so bloody annoying! I loved the food and actually looked forward to cooking the recipes. They were usually packed with veg too, a bit fancier than I would usually bother making but no extra effort.

Food education needs to be part of your bootcamp rehabilitation for husbands @Mounjaropen !

YES YES YES!!!!!! All husbands/partners should be required to take part in this bootcamp. They can become official Mounjaro Husbands - beautifully trained to get the right gifts, and buy the right foods, and eat the right foods, and not snore, ah so many possibilities 😂

MsRumpole · 28/02/2025 20:03

Checking in! Nothing to report. Jab night tonight!

Mounjaropen · 01/03/2025 07:13

Friends, I’m delighted to confirm that our trademarked 10-step food-specific part of the DH rehabilitation programme will include:

  1. Learning to cook a meal without using every piece of cooking equipment or utensil in the kitchen.
  2. Learning the art of clearing up as you go along in point 1.
  3. Discovering the simplicity of emptying dishwasher before you start cooking so the mess you create has somewhere to go (part of our joint honours alongside ‘the bleeding obvious’ programme)
  4. Learning not to wait for a medal ceremony after cooking one meal (not for yourself) out of a possible 90 over any one month
  5. Understanding that what you fancy eating does not match what everyone else in the family wants to eat for every meal and how this may affect matrimonial relations
  6. Learning the wisdom of using resealable bags or tins for biscuits/crisps/crackers so other family members may enjoy crispy food stuffs after you have opened them
  7. Discovering the inner peace that using a plate whilst eating on the sofa may bring as you learn how to avoid both repercussions and spousal conflict from your actions
  8. Enjoying the household harmony as you actively clear up without being prompted after someone else has made you a meal.
  9. Reaping the benefits of carrying out small acts of kindness as you offer your spouse a drink when you make one for yourself or bring them a coffee in bed
  10. Understanding the link between pulling your weight in the domesticity department and the rather enjoyable reward centre in the boudoir ;-)

@Mounjaropen sorry you’re not feeling great. I noticed that your reported exercise is high and the fluid intake is reporting as lower than previous, could you be a little dehydrated? I had a lot of dizziness last week whilst away which I think was dehydration.
is your dizziness provoked by any particular movement? Often otoconia has a provoking movement which is treated with an epley manoeuvre and a decompensated vestibular system can be treated with cawthorne cooksey exercises

Thank you for that info, that is very kind.

my fluid intake is good - on average around 3l or more of water plus decaf coffee. Alcohol and caffeine intake is reduced. The dr thinks I have Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo caused by the Octonia as it is triggered by movement in the side plane rather than vertical/upright movement.

I’m resting for two days now so will see what happens! 🤞

Dr has given me Brandt Daroff exercises to try first but I might try and you tube the epley manoeuvre to see if I can replicate at home. Thanks again!

Morning all. Well done to those who have seen losses on the scales, you are doing so well!

Hope you feel better soon @Mounjaropen and have a wonderful time at the cookery class today. Sounds like great fun!

I too wish to enrol my DH for the intensive rehabilitation programme! Topics to include ‘Not all gifts must be alcohol’ (which he then drinks 🙄) and ‘Yes! You too can operate an oven. Learn to heat food in 3 easy steps’.

Only 1lb off this week which is a bit pants, but at least it’s in the right direction. I actually did more exercise this week (walking, the Pilates classes) and was pretty good calorie wise, so am hoping I might see more progress next week.

Progress to date:
SW 16 stone 7lbs
CW 14 stone 5lbs
GW 11 stone

Loss so far: 30lbs / 13kg
I started with a BMI of 37.3. Now at 32.4.

Mounjaropen · 01/03/2025 09:33

🥳 good news friends in my phone!

The new scales are showing at 11st 5.8lbs so whilst I have not recorded a loss this week (200g) I haven’t put any on either… so I’ll take that! the scales also show my body fat percentage to be 32.1% as opposed to Methreesixty which says it is 34.4%

I particularly like point 1. Can we add in a module in “how to load the dishwasher so that items actually come out clean, including sub-sections on rinsing, soaking and checking that no one has left a scrunched up crisp packet in a mug before putting it in the dishwasher”?

OOOHHH!!! My husband does that INSANELY annoying trick of scrunching up a crisp pack or chocolate wrapper and stuffing it into a mug (always with liquid still in it)! The mug, liquid and wrapper all go in three DIFFERENT places, and everyone wants to put a wet drippy wrapper in the bin, so much better than a simple dry one! #passiveagressiverantover

Cantbesure · 01/03/2025 11:39

@Mounjaropen not so much organised as that's the first availability 😂But if I keep at 1lb a week I should be at target by about that time. Although I may want to bring it down another half a stone. I'm finding it tricky to know where a good place to land is in my 50s, 3 c sections, already lost weight and gained before etc. I don't want lots of loose skin on my stomach/arms and to get to a weight I can't sustain.

Has anyone in our lovely gang got to BMI 25 or below yet?

Happy weekend all.

Thank goodness it's March. February is not my favourite!

Another NSV this morning. I tried on a leather skirt dh bought me at least 10 years ago - neither of us can remember when he bought it, but it was a viral M&S leather skirt that everyone went mad for. It barely fitted when he bought it and created a muffin top that was actually too big to qualify as a muffin....more a full blown bloomer loaf! Anyway, this morning it fits! No muffin top and zips up easily. So now I'm scouring Pinterest for styling ideas and trying to figure out which shoes would go best. Any styling tips most welcome!

DarkForces · 01/03/2025 12:30

No styling tips I'm afraid @SerenePeer. I'm currently on a self imposed Vinted ban as I'm addicted to buying dresses I couldn't have got on 3 months ago! My favourite list is bonkers! Dh is starting to worry about my new found knees attracting other men 😜
