Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Thanks for the new thread Mounjaropen 👍 can’t believe we’re on thread 8!

The sun is shining, my house is in a state of utter destruction and the bikini emoji in all honesty has made me wince (still v much needing those big winter layers to hide behind! 😬) BUT new day, new thread an all that! 😁

Am pretty resigned now that MJ at least at this dose is doing nothing for me so am going to HAVE to dig deep to find some bl**dy motivation from somewhere, crack on despite the fatigue and food noise. It’s like going it alone all over again (sob) but maybe this brilliant med will come into it’s own for me at a higher dose, have not lost hope yet.

Oh and people on here are getting disgustingly skinny btw, please stop it or at least take me with yoooooooou!…’🛟 😂

I have zero motivation beyond exercising (bizarre)…yesterday I even did a peloton spin class as opposed to writing an email! So, if you don’t mind indulging me and to make myself accountable I am going to write my to-do list here so I can check on Monday to see how much I achieved..want to do the same?

Here’s mine…

  1. Order Birthday Cake and Balloons for DD’s birthday
  2. Write an email concerning insurance
  3. Report a serious breach of data to the ICO by a firm I deal with
  4. Write a report about a concern I have to a professional body about the behaviour of a legal firm.
  5. Make a start on my firm’s accounts…(I put this off every year)
  6. Pay my Amex bill
  7. Fix my Energy costs
  8. Move some money in some accounts I have which have a poor interest
  9. Pay DD’s car tax
  10. Pay an outstanding energy bill from a property we used to own (they’ve come back to us 5years later for £58!)

I promise you I don’t spend hours writing complaints but I sometimes let things build up (and watch Netflix or other shite) so I am placed under pressure so I work harder….I know this is idiotic!

Anyway, as you were.

My scales also read differently when I step on and off and then weigh again (despite changing the battery). Does anyone rate body composition scales or are they rubbish unless £££?

I got some Renpho scales from Amazon which were not expensive at all and they seem more accurate. My old ones were gaslighting me a bit!

Moving up next week as well @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo i will be going to 3.75 for a week then 5mg

weekend away from Friday with old university friends so that is likely to result in no weight change for me

Ooh I have a weekend booked with my old Uni friends at the end of April. Really looking forward to it. If I get to 9st something I will be elated. Realistically I will be at 10st3ish I think.

I've heard they are good, that's interesting, thanks.

All the best with your dose up Pumpkin, and hope you have fun with your friends at the weekend!

In hindsight I think I would have done better if I’d stuck on 5 rather than dropping back to 3.75, was scared off due to dramatic and unpleasant diarrhoea and gastric symptoms on day 2 but I think it would have settled if I’d stuck it out and the losses might have carried on. Not going to make the same mistake if the running D’s come back when I go up to 7.5! Will just ride it out until it settles. Need the effects of MJ (the good ones!) to kick back in or no point staying on it really. Am wondering if is related to my physiology, I typically need higher doses of medications for them to work, needed a minor op previously and the amount of local anaesthetic they had to use would have numbed out a rhino! 😂

why don’t you try again? I felt awful for 2 days after 5mg but after that I was fine. Keep going!

Thanks - I’m umming and ahhing between Renpho (reports that you have to pay for the app?) and the Withings ones. I would like the body scan ones ideally.

I am loving the Trinny London Elevate neck cream. Too early to say if it’s making a difference to a crepey neck but let’s see how it goes. Only one week in.

Ooh fab. was looking at a skincare group earlier on FB and apart from the usual ‘get fillers’ bollocks this got rave reviews. I ordered the bio oil body lotion on Ocado today so looking forward to seeing if this helps the ruched curtains that is currently my thighs and stomach 🫠

The app is free (at least so far, I’m not aware they charge, perhaps if you use some of the more fancy options?). It does include nice graphs too, which is fun when you want to review your progress.

You are doing so well!

Do you mind sharing how you established your GI? Do you have a monitor?

I am full of admiration for anyone who is dealing with serious health issues alongside the rest of us who do not have that additional worry ❤️

GI issues = gastrointestinal issues. In other words, the runs!!! 😀

It’s definitely helping with the crepey skin for me 😁😁

I've just ordered one, Amazon were having a flash sale on them, it arrives tomorrow. Exciting. Although I will be sad if my current dodgy scale has been under-weighing me!

Glad your DH has some stability now. It’s awful going through things like that. I faced into redundancy this time last year, decided to try for the role they had suggested and was fortunately (I think!) successful. Lots more change to come this year though (my company has been bought by another) so will see what happens. If it all happens again, at least I’ve picked up a bit more experience in the mean time is what I’m telling myself!

Fab weight loss!

It’s hideous. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I went through it in 2023 and a week after my job was confirmed dh’s organisation announced a restructuring plan that’s gone on for a bloody age. On the plus side, him having a job means we’ve booked a summer holiday in Greece and I’ll need to rock a swim suit!

IHateMozzies · 27/02/2025 16:33

Managed to get 0.7ml out of my 5mg pen last night. It’s great to have some serious suppression again. That little bit extra has gone the trick.

Woohoo! I’m off to a random Greek island at the start of June! Can’t wait to waft about in my Yoga separates enjoying the complimentary yoga like one of the polished people 😆

On the good side, I am now going to Sardinia in September for a long weekend, hurray!

On the bad side, I have managed to put 4lbs on overnight with one takeaway. 4lbs! FFS. I know it will be mostly gone tomorrow but I’m still cross.

Cantbesure · 27/02/2025 18:56

Wow @murraymcgill you are smashing it out of the park! Fabulous work. And with everything you have going on too. Have you moved up a pen every time?
