@FlappyFish you look great!! Well done everyone on the losses!

I erred to post this but I shall. My heaviest weight and current weight. I was NOT that weight when I started MJ. I was about 18 stone there and I started MJ at 14. So please don’t think MJ has made me plummet that quickly. That’s a 6 stone difference.

18.5 to 12.5. There’s a few years in between!!

Edited

That is amazing @FlappyFish! Well done!

@Femeia well done for the loss.
From watching tiktoks people in US are saying that 7.5mg is the therapeutic dose. So maybe we need to be there to get the lasting effects.

@Choux I’m 41. I was probably 33 in that bigger photo. I do have some loose skin and I have a very tiger striped tummy. I’ve never had children but that weight gain was a result of medication and addiction.

I'm 41 too! This gives me hope that a figure is still possible for me 🤣

Grrrr, I had a post typed up and lost it! I’m glad to hear that the achy legs will get less because it was pretty horrible last night. It’s just in my feet, ankles and wrists today. No snacking last night, no food thus far today and I’m struggling to drink tea which worries me because I am a tea fiend. I am cold as well. My scales showed no change today from yesterday which I fully expected as it’s not even been a full day yet.

I am pleased and encouraged to see so many good losses being reported. It gives me hope!

You look amazing @FlappyFish you should be so proud of yourself

Oh god this is giving me flashbacks to SW. I did all of those things too…

Yes that’s sw to a tee. I used to do omelette for brunch and nothing else until after evening weigh. I can remember once I’d been out for lunch for a friend’s birthday, chosen a healthy option but obviously food was still in my system. Maintained - big sad face from consultant, what’s gone wrong. Next week big loss as it was really 2 weeks loss and slimmer of week.
My Weightloss is spiky but I can see the trends - I know I’ll be up tomorrow if I have an alcoholic drink tonight but it will be down again on Monday.

Investinmyself · 06/04/2024 11:51

@Baldatbirth mcdonalds I’d have a grilled chicken wrap or grilled chicken salad. They have a section on app with lower cal options.

pinktransit · 06/04/2024 11:52

Oh yes, the SW weigh in day shenanigans. I did lose on SW, hit my target weight, but it all went back on again. I still have a few mugshots somewhere in my cupboard from those days! (Very out of date by now.) Pretty much nothing to eat or drink all day, wear the same lightweight leggings, if I've had a 'bad' week, then a hot bath just before weigh in. And then a 'treat' of a takeaway and a bottle of wine because there was another week before the next weigh in.... I certainly didn't learn healthy eating patterns.

FlappyFish · 06/04/2024 11:55

It’s odd as I don’t recognise myself in that old photo. Admittedly I was very unwell mentally and an alcoholic. I started losing weight when I got sober in 2016. I don’t recognise myself too much either now. I’ve lost nearly 2 stone in two months and my brain can’t compute. I think it’s why photos are so helpful.

Investinmyself · 06/04/2024 11:59

@FlappyFish well done you look fantastic. @ObsidianTree amazing to lose a stone.
For protein breakfast if you can’t face much the Aldi protein pots with granola are 22g, I add a few berries. Skyr or kvarg yoghurt is high protein too.
I really do think key to feeling well on mj is avoiding greasy or beige stodgy stuff.

Wonkypictureframe · 06/04/2024 12:08

What an amazing weight loss, FlappyFish! Really well done to you.

I asked my PT about collagen. Briefly, all collagen should be taken as liquid. Marine for skin, hair etc, bovine for joints etc. Also vegan collagen can stimulate your own collagen supplies.

I started on the aloe vera tablets yesterday and my 2lbs gain is gone today, along with another pound.

I still can’t face big meals, greasy things, and have no interest in alcohol. I’d say I’ve felt the same since the day of my first jab, so sense of it wearing off through the week, and I’m at the end of month one. I felt ravenous this morning after a gym session but had a small amount of something and felt full very quickly.

Hi everyone I've just started, took first dose last night. I feel absolutely no different today. Is this normal? I was starving when I woke up 🙈

After my first dose I felt different almost immediately. After my second... I was starving the next morning and didn't really feel anything different, but as time went on, it gradually started to kick in! Now on day 2 after my 2nd dose and I can't even look at food! (Drinking protein to keep me going)

MelissaLouRocks · 06/04/2024 12:23

Completely normal @blahwork . Remember this is just a starting dose, the idea is for your body to acclimatise to the drug to avoid side effects before increasing the dose. The manufacturers themselves say that therapeutic doses really only start at 5mg, so don't panic about not feeling anything just yet.

MelissaLouRocks · 06/04/2024 12:24

Were going to need a new thread soon @ObsidianTree 😊

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 06/04/2024 12:25

Been reading all your comments about weighing and the sw bullshit - I used to do all that too! Lunch time weigh in, eat nothing since the day before and then after weighing, eat a box of their cereal bars as I was so ravenous!
Maybe if I did just weigh once a day it would stop it being such a triggering thing for me, instead of once a week.

Femeia · 06/04/2024 12:26

Does anyone have a non number goal to share?

Mine is to be able to take off my wedding ring (and put it back on!) I can take off my engagement ring for the first time in many years but the wedding ring just won't budge. Once I can do that I will truly know I've lost weight. I was 10st on my wedding day, at 5'9", currently just over 14st. I won't be back at 10st ever but would be good to be close.

AgathaMystery · 06/04/2024 12:27

I think someone was talking about flying with this medication. I can tell you that airport staff DNGAF about these pens. They are well used to them. I’ve had them in the hold and in hand luggage. No issues.

Daisypod · 06/04/2024 12:27

@blahwork I took mine on Monday and unfortunately I haven't felt any different all week, I have tried really hard to cut calories but we were on holiday so it was very hard. Just weighed myself and I've lost nothing so feeling really disappointed. Hope it kicks in for you sooner than me.

THats really interesting, thank you. If heard that diet drinks weren't actually that great for weight loss, it's really helpful to understand why!

This is well worth a watch on Diet Coke. He also did a 55 minute lecture on Ultra Processed Foods that's online and is very thought provoking

I would love to be able to wear my wedding ring and engagement ring again. It’s been a long time since I have been able to wear them. That’s my non scale goal. And to put something on to wear and feel good.
