Bridesmaids and nipple covers

I have 3 bridesmaids, all with the same ‘multiway’ dress. They look lovely but the fabric is so thin and clingy that without using the bandeau that comes with the dresses we have 6 nipples on show through the fabric. They understandably would rather not wear the bandeau if possible as it makes them look a bit frumpy/matronly and they’re all early 20’s with lovely figures. We’ve tried some of the tiny nipple covers but the only problem is now that you can’t see the nipples you can see the nipple covers!
Is boob tape an option to just tape the nipples down?! Or do we need some other type of nipple covers? Hit me up with your recommendations or ideas ladies please?

Could you try adding a layer of opaque fabric in the bust section?

Can they not just wear strapless bras?

I don't understand what the bandeau is and why it can't be worn?

How much nipple are we talking about. Can you actually see the nipple through the fabric or are you just bothered by the general shape of the nipple? If it’s just the shape, ignore it. We used to not care. I don’t know why women started worrying about this.

I would personally try boob tape, go on a website called perky pears, they do loads of different boob tape, nipple covers etc xx

Same. Presumably this is why the dress comes with a bandeau?

It does but it’s totally optional. We all (mums included) feel that the bandeaus make the girls look a lot older than they are and slightly matronly. They don’t feel as good wearing the bandeau and I want them to feel comfortable, we’ll go with it if we have to but it’s a last resort really

We’re not ‘bothered’ as such, it’s just we don’t want nipples to be the obvious draw of the eye in the photos

Can you link the dress OP? What about buying another dress and using the fabric to add some structure to the one you have

Have you looked at Neats covers? I'd be surprised if they showed through?

I was thinking about suggesting a thermal vest!

The stick on bra?

Agree, I don't think it's quite right having the outline of 6 nipples in a wedding photo shoot.

if it's just the photos you're concerned about ask your photographer to edit any sign of nipples out in post production?

This is a link to the dress https://www.infinitydress.com/en-gb/products/dark-green-multiway-infinity-dress
as you can see from the photos the bandeau isn’t mandatory and we’re looking at having a cross-back which would mean any sort of bra with a ‘back’ isn’t possible

I second Perky Pear. I got married a few years ago and my wedding dress cut right down to my naval. These stayed in place all day, not sure they would hold a large boobs but at 34D they held me well. Pricey but worth the money.

Unless anyone is particularly busty you could try a lace up stick on bra?

Report
sleepyscientist · 26/03/2024 20:19

I would speak to seamstress about using the bandeau to add a few layers to what will in effect be the cups or buy another dress for that purpose.

I actually prefer the look with the bandeau, but can see if you’re having more of an open back it wouldn’t work.

You can get backless bras, though. Would that be an option? Or even something like this
