Bridesmaids and nipple covers

I have 3 bridesmaids, all with the same ‘multiway’ dress. They look lovely but the fabric is so thin and clingy that without using the bandeau that comes with the dresses we have 6 nipples on show through the fabric. They understandably would rather not wear the bandeau if possible as it makes them look a bit frumpy/matronly and they’re all early 20’s with lovely figures. We’ve tried some of the tiny nipple covers but the only problem is now that you can’t see the nipples you can see the nipple covers!
Is boob tape an option to just tape the nipples down?! Or do we need some other type of nipple covers? Hit me up with your recommendations or ideas ladies please?

I have nip piercings and even I know that there is a time and place for them to show. A wedding is not the place.

lol same here, i'd never have them showing at a wedding

LlynTegid · 31/03/2024 17:08

Perhaps your mistake is choosing such thin fabric. It cannot look nice in my opinion, just tacky.

Choose something else for them to wear.

Mostlyoblivious · 31/03/2024 17:11

Stick on bra

Bostoncremecolor · 31/03/2024 17:14

It looks cheap and I think you’ll see any kind of bra/covers under it,

TBH for under £50 what can you expect, there is a reason good, flattering dresses cost more.

TinkerPony · 31/03/2024 17:22

If not already mentioned could the front of the bandaeu be altered into sweetheart neckline.
But honestly that dress is far too much fuss hassle.
I think its only great for holiday wear as less clothes to bring.
A well structured dress would be better style and classier.
Sorry just my opinion if there is time to exchange or return, do try.

Imfreetofeelgood · 31/03/2024 18:42

In all the pics, those wearing the bandeau look the classiest.

Happyasapiginmuck1 · 31/03/2024 21:27

I'd just go for nipple tassels and make a feature of them!

Elzwood · 31/03/2024 22:49

My bridesmaids all had the same issues with multiway dresses! They all wore a “perky pear” they were brilliant!!

You might have to go for a different dress then I think. They will have put the bandeau with it for this reason

No, I agree the bandeau made the dress look a bit matronly in the website photos. It wouldn't work with the cross-back style, anyway.

If your bridesmaids are perky enough to go braless, OP, they can wear stick-on bra cups. I think the best idea is to have 'cups' made from the bandeau material, sewn into the dress. Depends on budget, though. Stick-on bras cost little.

MariaVT65 · 01/04/2024 02:31

I would refuse to be a bridesmaid if the bride didn’t allow me to wear a bra. Let them wear a bra op. A proper one, not a stick on.

StrawberryJellyBelly · 01/04/2024 02:44

Multiway dresses are a bit dated now. I had a lovely one back in 2010 ish. It was sand coloured but really good fabric so flattering all over, supportive and concealing where needed

We had themabout 13 years ago, they were very well made and they didn’t become see through when photographed.

I suspect like most things that are copied the ones available now are a not very good copy of the original.

And no one looked matronly either but that could be down to the bridesmaids being very slim young women in their early 20’s with breasts to match.

Still not getting the "matronly" definition

SurreyisSunny · 01/04/2024 08:15

Get your seamstress to add cups. Nipples or boobs bouncing around not a great look for a wedding

The dresses are ridiculously cheap (something like that would usually be £200 upwards) so I can understand your concern as the fabric must be very cheap

Jeannie88 · 01/04/2024 18:47

There are completely strapless bras, just 2 bra type covers, which you even pull together for a cleavage! They stick on and work, I use them, so comfortable as well. Xx

Nickinoo22 · 01/04/2024 19:13

My daughter's bridesmaids had more or less identical dresses and there was some hilarity at the fitting and I mentioned maybe some needed nipple covers 😉 on the day, each of the 5 girls used a different 'product' to cover their nipples . Tape , covers and the 'bigger ' girls used those self sticking jelly type things . Anyway, it wasn't a problem and they all looked lovely. I think its just a question of finding what works best for each girl .... ours was a wedding abroad in warm climate so that definitely helped 😅

Chicken fillets kind of stick on bra?

roflmao...surely this will be in the weekly roundup! And yet we all know what you mean. Forking the conversation now...has anyone ever had a man scream or otherwise freak out at the inclusion of raw chicken in the mix?

Teledeluxe · 01/04/2024 19:15

Might be even worse if the wedding is on a cold day!

Stick on bra
I’m a fair sized boob (middle) and they are much better than the stick on petal types for this type of fabric
You can pick them up most places I’m sure mine was from primark x

Hint. They tried on the bridesmaid dresses. You had a problem with how the dresses look. Find new bridesmaid dresses.

If you've brought them, leave it to the bridesmaids to decide how to present their breasts.

You really should not now be commenting on their nipples, you perv. That's just too intrusive and control-feaky.

NannaKaren · 01/04/2024 19:51

Can’t they wear the bandeau for the Wedding and formal pics and later in the day, use whatever nipple cover/bra/etc ?!??!?!🙈

letitlego · 01/04/2024 20:24

The dresses aren’t suitable if they’re see through in the nip area

Is that you in the photo? You all look lovely! The one shoulder look is definitely the nicest, very Grecian.

Rachy397 · 01/04/2024 21:32

Have you tried stick on bras? Not expensive, stay in place and maybe not as obvious as covers?
