I don’t usually watch this program on channel four but put it on by accident and have just watched the second part on More four on demand .I just have some thoughts on it and if any one has watched it please discuss with me here especially if you have watched both. It is the one about the murder of Eliza.

Why was her mum always in her dressing gown? I'm onto the second part now

I mean have a guess? (And a heart) If my child had been brutally murdered I doubt I'd get dressed either

ask away op I've seen both

Toddlerteaplease · 10/09/2024 20:05

Just watching last nights now. I'm surprised they filmed her mum being told of her daughter's death.

I was too. It felt very intrusive. I know she would have given permission to have it shown, but it’s the fact it was filmed in the first place that surprised me.

Ask away OP. I’ve watched it too.

Mainoo72 · 10/09/2024 20:30

I saw it & found it thoroughly depressing. So many sad lives.

kerstina · 10/09/2024 20:59

Ok so first episode I was tired . I thought it showed a prelude to the next episode at the end which I thought showed the son taken away as it sounded like he had fallen out with his mum and the Nan was saying how can you think it was him hasn’t he had enough trauma. Now when I watched the second part it went straight to them finding the knife . The son was not mentioned again did I miss something or where they just being sensitive to the bereaved relatives. Totally understandable. I did feel sorry for the killer what he had been through. He wasn’t your average druggie was he although I guess they all have trauma . He had had the bad accident ,in a coma for weeks and then his prescription medicine wasn’t strong enough so was getting strong opiate pain killers from Eliza. Eliza was described as vulnerable and disabled but wasn’t she herself taking advantage of vulnerable people by being a drug dealer. The text at the end I believe said that the opiate he was on was a 100? Times harder to get off than heroin and withdrawal can cause extreme mood swings.

Harvestfestivalknickers · 10/09/2024 21:03

I thought it was very sad, so many people involved have had their lives blighted by drugs. I thought Mark Coleman was a sad figure but loved by his family.

Mainoo72 · 10/09/2024 21:06

It certainly wasn’t a very good advert for Wisbech.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/09/2024 21:06

I thought it was sad when his kids were saying what a great dad he was. I can't see how he could have been to be honest.

kerstina · 10/09/2024 21:10

Yes I thought that too. Also it made more sense for it to have been Coleman because he had the cousin with him. The one police man had said it took two because of the knife behind in front . Well it was just the one man ? Some parts still don’t make sense to me .

OP posts:
FuckThePoPo · 10/09/2024 21:11

the thing is you only have to read threads on here about uncontrolled pain - how many of them go around murdering women? Yes it must be tough but come on! If he couldn't cope with it then why didn't he kill himself instead?

kerstina · 10/09/2024 21:12

Oh I totally agree. Most would kill themselves not someone else you are right.

OP posts:
Jojobees · 10/09/2024 21:17

None of it quite added up to me. They said it had to have been either 2 people or the person changed hands.
But very sad for all involved. Drugs really do steal so many lives.

Harvestfestivalknickers · 10/09/2024 21:22

He seemed pretty genuine when he was being interviewed saying 'this isn't me, I don't do things like this'. I was thinking the Police had got the wrong man again? He seemed calm, eloquent and as he said, never been violent before. It's so sad, if he hadn't have had that accident, he wouldn't have got addicted to pain killers etc etc. Just a very sad case all round really, as PP have said, it didn't put Wisbech in a good light. I wonder if Jack is still there?

HeartandSeoul · 10/09/2024 21:26

You are right OP, there was something at the end of the first episode that hinted they arrested a relative, but nothing was said in the following episode. I had forgotten about that, to be honest.

The police said they had made 5 arrests in total, but 4 were released. I know Mark, and the other man we saw were released (seen being let into the murderer’s flat late at night), but were the other 2 mentioned? I know one must have been the relative we never fully saw.

Were the meds 100 times stronger? I thought it was 10 (but so likely misremembered it).

kerstina · 10/09/2024 21:37

You are probably right ten times more . I haven’t been with it today didn’t sleep well and had 2 Anita inflammatory injections yesterday can that affect your brain lol? I have taken seroxat ( parexotine) in the past and that is supposed to be on par with cocaine withdrawal and it was indeed hell to get off in my case as I took it at a low dose long term .

OP posts:
russellhobbsknobs · 10/09/2024 21:37

They did arrest the relative but he obviously didn’t do it. There were inconsistencies in his story but we weren’t told why. He wasn’t involved in the murder thiugh and was released without charge. If they hadn’t found the knife with the DNA evidence, they may have pursued the wrong person or it may never have been solved.
The killer Jamie was very convincing though. I wonder if he almost believed it himself or was he just evil with no remorse. Very sad all round.

kerstina · 10/09/2024 21:39

If the killer hadn’t been caught washing his clothes with bleach and hands red raw I would have thought could he just have been framed with the dna on the knife by someone else. But the ctv was pretty damning wasn’t it.

OP posts:
HeartandSeoul · 10/09/2024 21:59

I just remembered now (having changed the channel to catch the last few minutes), there was a lady arrested also.

Also, after I queried if the meds were 10 times stronger, I wondered if it was actually 50 times stronger, so I wanted to double check. It was 50 times stronger. Wow!

JaneJeffer · 10/09/2024 23:09

The whole thing was very sad, all those lives ruined by drugs, even prescription drugs. I hope that young lad managed to get away from that scene.

It was awful at the end that the other man and Eliza's mother had also died as well as the original suspect.

I didn't understand the bit about the relative either and I wish they had said what happened.

1AngelicFruitCake · 11/09/2024 03:53

I found it quite disturbing how the killer talked about ‘unsavoury’ people he needed to protect his daughters from. How there were some not very nice people out there, saying this whilst being a killer himself!

MrsLargeEmbodied · 11/09/2024 06:17

i watched
terrible drug problem in the world
we saw the TV programme about Oxycontin - Dopesick.

we did wonder how they ruled out Jack
and also not much mention of the son after arresting him.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 11/09/2024 06:19

interesting Jamie's remarks saying he wanted to protect his daughters
and sad so many of them have since died
i wondered if Mark Coleman died due to lack of available drugs in prison.

90yomakeuproom · 11/09/2024 06:36

I may be wrong but I got the impression that Mark had died by suicide

1AngelicFruitCake · 11/09/2024 06:42

I thought they said it was his heart?
