I don’t usually watch this program on channel four but put it on by accident and have just watched the second part on More four on demand .I just have some thoughts on it and if any one has watched it please discuss with me here especially if you have watched both. It is the one about the murder of Eliza.

2 years for smuggling in all that cannabis? A joke.

Yes the 2 years surprised me but actually I think the courts really don't care about a lone wolf who was obviously a 'nice' non violent criminal, if he was part of an OCG it would have been a different story. I know it's still serious and we shouldn't laugh but I did find that episode really funny!

Exactly, who really wants him taking up space in overcrowded prisons? And as for the two women, they're not going to offend again so I can't see much benefit to them being jailed.

I dunno I spent quite a lot of the episode thinking we should probably just follow many other country's suit and decriminalise this stuff 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have just watched this. It's filmed locally, so we like to try and spot places we knew.

I was not expecting to see someone I know on it. Netty used to work with my son, and we were at the same Slimming World group a few years ago.

I agree that Netty wouldn't really have understood what she was doing, or the potential implications for her. I was a bit surprised at the leniency of Jnr's sentence, and would love to know how the venture capitalist became involved. I hope Jnr turns his life around, as (unless he was an amazing actor) he did seem like a nice bloke.

Is the episode on tonight a new one, anyone? X

purpleme12 · 27/01/2025 20:23

It's a repeat

purpleme12 · 27/01/2025 21:56

The Predator one? It's not

Ihatemondays1962 · 27/01/2025 22:26

It's definitely a repeat. I remember it.

Toddlerteaplease · 27/01/2025 22:33

I remember this one as well. I wonder if he's due for release soon.

Just watched this.

A better example of a narcissist I don't think you will find.

Very glad he was put away.
I hope vulnerable prisoners are protected from him.

A very sad stastistic at the end of the programme about 45% of gay men in UK having suffered a sexual assault, 10 times that of the general male population.

I didn't realise it was as high as that. Horrific.

Turmerictolly · 28/01/2025 13:54

Quite an eye opener too into a certain section of gay culture. It seems very unsafe and high risk. Glad this guy was put away.

Yeah it was certainly an eye opener for me!

I thought that although the women police were handling it very well, that the input of a gay male officer, or someone familiar with that scene, might have been helpful.

I thought initially that there might be a cultural issue at play too; the perp having come from Iraq and so maybe his perceptions of what was acceptable “forcefulness” was skewed.

But nope. Turned out he was a run of the mill predator and narc.

fairytailcat · 28/01/2025 20:00

Looks like the Predator one first aired ten years ago!

purpleme12 · 28/01/2025 21:03

No it was shown December 2023
