I don’t usually watch this program on channel four but put it on by accident and have just watched the second part on More four on demand .I just have some thoughts on it and if any one has watched it please discuss with me here especially if you have watched both. It is the one about the murder of Eliza.

I had a quick read of the link earlier and had to put my phone down as I couldn't take in what I was reading.
The link doesn't seem to be working for now... is anyone else able to access the story?

Hels20 · 15/01/2025 13:25

Do you mean the BBC link? Yes - I tried it again and it is still there.

caramac04 · 15/01/2025 13:40

I didn’t feel sorry for Dan the family man. If he was struggling so much financially and had debts - which he said was the case - how come he was paying for, some great, tattoos and bemoaning his financial situation with criminal tattooist?
I know it was meth not weed but I’ve seen the damage County Lines does to children’s lives and am very anti-drug. Who’s to say it wont be meth that kids are groomed into running?
Crystal Meth is a particularly nasty drug.

missmouse1969 · 15/01/2025 14:58

@hels20 thank you I've managed to open and read it. Utterly vile.
I still don't know how they linked Axel to Daniel. I know they got the car park footage of Daniel cutting in from Axels phone, but did I miss how they managed to track Daniel down?
They referred to the tattoo on his wrist. Maybe he was already known to the police...

Hels20 · 15/01/2025 15:10

@missmouse1969 - they got him through the phone records. When they were doing the cocaine sting - they had intercepted his phone or something and there were lots of messages back and forth between them. His phone must have been registered to him. And he wasn’t using a burner phone. And possibly also through Facebook?

missmouse1969 · 15/01/2025 15:57

@hels20

Of course and thank you I remember that now.
I wonder how long before the cutting took place to when they were arrested.

I lost sympathy with Dan when he said he wanted to buy a Bentley with the 15k.

Not sure how you'd do that with 15k!

Did anyone notice the apparent use of AI to 'voice' the text messages between Dan and Axel? I thought they were voice notes at first but they showed the texts and the voices/intonation was just very slightly off so I believe they were AI generated. If I am right it is a bit worrying that the programme makers did this without making it clear.

Yes! I noted this too. Once I realised they'd used AI to 'bring things to life' I felt very uncomfortable. It wasn't really made clear and made me start thinking about deepfakes and how easy it is to take some data on how someone speaks and create all sorts of content using their identity.

@JellyBeanFactory - I can’t see where it said he was out in a year…

I wonder if the prison service held the job offer open for him?🙂

Ihatemondays1962 · 20/01/2025 21:05

Looks like another interesting episode this week.

Toddlerteaplease · 20/01/2025 21:20

The woman in orange is lying through her teeth.

femininomenon · 20/01/2025 21:24

The smile from both her and the detective when she said she had no sense of smell was funny

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 20/01/2025 21:49

Funnily enough, I'm was thinking today, why don't drug dealers use Evri 😄😄, no idea why they have to use people and kids

I've had my answer

This Ashley is dumb 😒

Poor nettie

It was her prince Andrew moment 🤭

A pharmaceutical consultant Grin

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 20/01/2025 21:55

Tony soprano here reckons he's gonna make millions!

He's so nervous, he's almost pooping himself

healthybychristmas · 20/01/2025 22:04

I was really shocked at that guy's sentence. Two years, when he had well over £1 million worth of cannabis?

JellyBeanFactory · 20/01/2025 22:07

I found myself laughing tonight - those ladies really were unusual suspects!

Netty was naive and I'm not sure she really understood what she'd got herself into. She wasn't capable of spinning a line. The other lady was a bit more manipulative and tried to lie her way out.

As for Jnr, he didn't seem to hide the lifestyle. I wonder if he's taken up the job offer from the venture capitalist?

I think he had 36k or something

Tbh i hate drugs gangs but this man wasn't so bad, just an illegal and deluded businessman

So glad nettie and Tracey didn't go to prison though 🥺

femininomenon · 20/01/2025 22:17

Yes the 2 years surprised me but actually I think the courts really don't care about a lone wolf who was obviously a 'nice' non violent criminal, if he was part of an OCG it would have been a different story. I know it's still serious and we shouldn't laugh but I did find that episode really funny!

Apparently he had excellent character witnesses!

caramac04 · 21/01/2025 10:32

I reckon Jnr will make a fortune once out of prison- hopefully legally.
I did feel sorry for Nettie because she clearly had limited understanding.
The thing I hate about drugs is the way young kids are groomed into drug running. We didn’t see who was distributing for Jnr but there was so much cannabis he must have had runners.

ImWearingPantaloons · 21/01/2025 11:20

A job offer from a 'venture capitalist'?

Surrrrrre.

The lad did have lovely teeth though.
