Hello :D

No outs today but I started my M&S beauty calendar so a few in's to come!

CorneliaStreet · 01/12/2023 17:27

Thanks for the new thread.

@Experiment627 My daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last week, so it’s been a pretty stressful time. We’re getting there though 🙂

Peridot1 · 01/12/2023 17:35

Sorry to hear that @CorneliaStreet. A lot for you all to get your heads around.

@Experiment627 - whilst I am definitely on a buying ban and am on that thread I am sure I will be still here as I use things up and as I buy replacements for anything I really need. Definitely not buying just for the sake of it though!

Experiment627 · 01/12/2023 17:44

@CorneliaStreet blimey that must be a lot to process 💜

@Peridot1 Phew! I hope everyone "migrates" over 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

I need to check how I've done with using up my stash this year. I think I've done ok with make-up but not so well with skincare etc.

Calypsocuckoo · 02/12/2023 08:46

Hi all, please can I join ? My name is Calypsocuckoo and I am a beauty product addict. I am currently trying really hard not to buy anymore products and use what is in my stash, and I have donated lots of things for my goddaughters stocking from it and today I am going to tidy out my dressing table drawers. I love high end and lovely makeup and skincare and am a big Dior and Charlotte Tilbury fan.
My aim is to stop buying until I have totally run out of a product and I have got to that with some things like toner and micellar water but I want to be only buying what I actually need and not buying lots to stash away (like I did with the Aldi Lacura dupe cleansing balms two days ago, oops). Well I am trying ☺️

PomsRun · 02/12/2023 08:52

@Calypsocuckoo welcone and that’s a really good idea 😊

SwordBilledHummingbird · 02/12/2023 10:28

I've just used up a tube of The White Company Super Balm Gentle Daily Deep Cleanser. I absolutely love this, it works really well and smells nice too. I have a Ren cleansing milk in my stash from a Liberty GWP so I'm ok for now but I'll be rebuying it when their sale starts as it's great value and always in the sale.

Buster27 · 02/12/2023 18:28

111Skin Rose Gold face mask - Too slippy. I usually use face masks in the bath and not being flat meant it kept sliding on my face. Felt quite nice otherwise but not for me.

Votary super seed nutrient cream - just a sample but I enjoyed it. I'd be happy with this as a night cream. Will consider buying when I need more.

The Somerset Toiletry Co cranberry body wash - could have been anything, I didn't notice any cranberry scent. Wouldn't buy.

The Scottish Fine Soaps Company sea kelp shower gel - this was fine, nothing special. Wouldn't buy.

Cien gentle cleansing milk - I was expecting much as this cost under £2, but I actually really liked it and it lasted ages. I RPd when Lidl had a promo for a free cien item (although have gained quite a few cleansers since then 🙈).

98/104 - getting very close!

Thank you for the new thread. I'm on zero buy at the moment and actually seeing a dent in the stash (although I swear my bars of soap are breeding!).

Experiment627 · 03/12/2023 07:21

@Calypsocuckoo welcome to the thread!

Hello, I'm new! I have just been through my bathroom stash and have so many skin and haircare samples, minis and full size items I need to use up.

As for makeup, I think that's a lost cause. I have more than I could ever use in a lifetime, especially eyeshadows and lipsticks. And as I work from home now, I do a full face less often.

Anyway, will share my empties as motivation to use stuff up. I'm slightly worried a lot of them will be so ancient they can't even be bought any more though!

First up:
Aldi Lacura vitamin C hot cloth cleanser. This was really good. Citrus smell, nice texture and effective.

17 lipstick. Truly ancient. Does 17 even exist any more?!

No. 7 eyeshadow. A cream formula which I used as a base to stop others creasing. Pretty good, nothing to write home about.

Checking in. Thanks for the new thread!

Experiment627 · 03/12/2023 16:51

Welcome @MyRabbit79!
My make-up situation is the same & I try and wear as much make up as often as possible but even this makes no apparent dent 🙈

I have a few perfume samples I used up.

All lovely.

A drop d’issey by Issey Miyake. Really uplifting. Solar lilac is the main player as is one of the most realistic lilacs I have ever smelt. Bought a full bottle.

Solo loewe Ella. A floral offering from Spanish powerhouse Loewe. I can’t recommend them enough. This one screams boss woman to me (not the brand) longlasting.

Francis Kurkdjian Gentle fluidity. To me it isn’t unisex. I passes it on to my DH that liked it. Leaning more masculine.

L’interdit Givenchy. Very sexy and dark floral. I like it but makes me have a headache.

Yes I am Cacharel, Milky spicy gourmand. It is very nice but the bottle is hideous. I have a FB too.

Divain is a Spanish brand that means Divine only written how a Spanisrd would read it. Anyway, they produce dupes of existing fragances at a fraction of the price. They are okeish mainly but tend to be oilier than the original versions. All bottles look the same but they have different numbers on them so you can distinguish them. Longevity is also acceptable for the price paid.

I had Angel Nova edp by Mugler
Delina by parfums de Marly and Empressa by Penhaligon.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 03/12/2023 21:21

Forgot ti add the gentle fluidity is the silver edition. I don’t know the gold one :/

CorneliaStreet · 05/12/2023 11:54

Some more empties. They seem to be coming thick and fast at the moment, which is just as well as there’s more coming in from advent calendars and beauty boxes.

Garnier Body Superfood body butter - 380ml. This was really thick and moisturising, but sank in quickly. Only £5 for this big tub, so will definitely get it again at some point.

Bath & Body Works body lotion in Pink Pineapple Sunrise - 236ml. VERY strongly scented. Luckily I liked it but can’t go round smelling like a pineapple every day, so definitely one for only occasional use!

Percy & Reed volumising mousse - 100ml. From last year’s M&S advent. I haven’t used hair mousse since the nineties and this product reminded me why. I hate putting it on. To be fair, this product wasn’t sticky and was ok on my hair, but I won’t be repurchasing.

Paula’s Choice 10% azelaic acid booster - 30ml. This has a thick creamy consistency but it nicer to use and layers better than the Ordinary one. This is way more expensive than the Ordinary though. My favourite azelaic acid is still the Face Theory as that’s thinner and more of a serum consistency.

Nuxe Merveillance firming powdery cream - 15ml. Also from last year’s M&S advent. This does have a powdery finish which I didn’t like and it’s also too highly scented for me. I love scent in body lotion, but not in facial stuff.
