3 empties.

Caudalíe pore minimising mask. I wanted to like this as I generally like Caudalíe but I found it drying with no effect on pores.

Zelens Vit D serum. I liked this. It's a little oily so a little goes a long way but I found it to be quite nourishing.

Youth to the People moisturiser. I also really liked this. It was a lovely day cream.

I can't photograph it but I'm happy to report... I've FINISHED the huge bar of soap I started in early July. The final slither dissolved in the shower today. I've opened another soap (smaller bar this time) and written date on packet.

A couple of other empties but will photograph those later in the week

listsandbudgets · 06/12/2023 17:00

Oh and I'm going to whinge here - I can't use my foot cream or easily have a shower for a bit because last night I dropped a cup of tea on my foot and now I've got 3 huge blisters - 2 on toes and one of foot and a huge red patch covering over half the top of my foot and they really really hurt - worst bit is between the toes. I couldn't even sleep until about 3am because of pain.

I've been wearing slippers all day as I daren't put a proper shoe or even a sock in in case blisters pop. and I had to use the bath shower today with burnt foot on bathmat Work should be fun tomorrow ... thank goodness I can use the rest of my stash though. (Reckon I could go to work in my slippers?)

Whinge, whinge, whinge 😂

You poor thing. That sounds awful

Fraaahnces · 07/12/2023 05:38

Oooh…. Feet really, really hurt - especially the top part @listsandbudgets. Don’t be afraid to apply ice packs and soak foot in cold water to ease the pain. (Unless it’s been dressed by your doctor and has to stay dry)

Experiment627 · 07/12/2023 06:01

@listsandbudgets that sounds awful 😢 💐

That sounds awful @listsandbudgets. Take care of it. You don’t want it becoming infected.

I like that Zelens Power D too @OchonAgusOchonOh. They did supersize versions for a Caroline Hirons kit two years ago and I ended up buying two. Still have a full bottle to go and about a quarter of another bottle. It’s great this time of year I find.

PomsRun · 08/12/2023 14:06

Hope improving @listsandbudgets

omorovicza night cream. Liked a lot. Plus a deep cleansing mask - which was neither here nor there.
molton brown shower gel - a firm favourite.
Espa tri active (loads of other words) serum. Was fine, not as good as Clarins.
Shiseido day cream. Overpowering fragrance- very average product
Nicea express hydration. Was good. Probably doesn’t sink in quite as well as Garnier.

99/90
loads of samples.

Might finish 2-3 more things before year end.

Had a not good November- so probably have around 80 items to use in total ish in 2024.

I have two empties to report:

  • Kingfisher natural toothpast fennel with fluoride: this is HOLY GRAIL for me and I bulk bought to bring the price down
  • Childs Farm moisturiser grapefuit & organic tea tree: actually quite nice as the grapefruit masks the tea tree. However ina crappy single use travel size bottle and cannot get last bit out 🤬

Fraaahnces · 09/12/2023 02:18

I have two empties as well. Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule 5X - 50ml (New Version of Time Revolution Night Repair Probio Ampoule). Supposed to be a dupe for Ester Lauder Advanced Night Repair. It doesn’t have the silicone feel of ANR, but it’s a lovely, light serum with the same goodies in the recipe. I still have the mini which came in the pack. Will use until done and rethink buying this as I didn’t love the slippery, heavy glass bottle (dodgy thumbs).
The other was Jumiso All Day Brightening Ampoule. Very gentle, non-irritating vitamin C derivative serum. Was okay, but I prefer stronger vitamin c products and I’m using two from my stash that I prefer - Goodal Green Tangerine Serum (contains Green Tangerine Extract instead of vitamin C and is weirdly effective) and Numbuzin No 5 antioxidant serum. Will definitely re-purchase this in the future. It’s amazing.
Will probably finish my Round Lab Birch Juice sunscreen today or tomorrow. Love it, and it was a repurchase many times over, but love others more now. (Have repurchased both Beauty of Joseon sunscreens)

FiveShelties · 09/12/2023 05:51

@listsandbudgets hope your foot is improving, sounds very painful.

I have five empties to report. Two packs of wipes, no need to repurchase many in stash. One body lotion by Bamford, think I got this on a Cathay Pacific flight. One Simple Light Moisturiser which I really liked and one huge One Litre bottle of Nivea Body Wash which I loved. The body wash took ages to use up as you only need a tiny bit.

I may have the odd bottle of shower gel to get through before I need to repurchase 😂

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 09/12/2023 09:53

Oooh @Experiment627

fennel toothbrush looks right up my alley. I hate the mint freshness in all toothpastes. So boring and unpleasant.

where do you buy yours?

listsandbudgets · 09/12/2023 16:20

A couple of empties

l'occtaine whipped bergamot body cream. A real.treat, lovely sharp smell, sunning well and pleasant texture. left skin smooth.

number 7 SPF 15 moisturiser..a.staple..Reasonable price, does what it says on the box. luckily since im on a buying ban had another in stash

trying to add photo but apparently the file is too big ( even though i've check and its only 4mb)

listsandbudgets · 09/12/2023 16:24

Ps thank you for sympathy re foot. Can now put on a soft trainer so I celebrated woth a walk and a wandering round local charity shops...didn't buy huge unused set of Molton Brown 30ml shower gels much as i wanted them but did get a couple.if Christmas presents)

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 09/12/2023 16:40

My empties:

Nothing remarkable but Aveeno is our staple.

Palmolive is ok.

Garnier kids shampoo in apricot smells amazing and lathers up well. I love it. Would rp.

Rituals the ritual of jing shower oil. Really nice intense smell of wood and lavender. Got it with points but would rp of the price is right.

MidnightMeltdown · 09/12/2023 16:51

Empties update:

102) Augustinus Bader The Cream - I actually liked this much more than the rich cream. Wouldn't buy it though

103) Alter Ego Silver Maintain Conditioner - regular purchase. Tones my hair between salon appointments

104) Soap & Glory Hand Food - quite liked but probably wouldn't rp. Not my favourite scent

105) This Works Deep Sleep Body Cocoon - I really like this product

106) Elemis Rose Cleansing Balm - lovely. Really like the rose scent

107) Hot Miracle Heat Protection Spray - this is a chuck. Ancient product discovered at back of cupboard!

108) Olaplex No.3 - another chuck. It's been open for well over a year and I don't use it because it does nothing for my hair and is a faff!

Total for the year - 108/130

I'm definitely not going to manage another 22 products by the end of the year, but will try to hit the target by the end of Jan.

Fraaahnces · 10/12/2023 01:54

You just reminded me about the purple shampoo situation @MidnightMeltdown.
i finished a humungous bottle of T&G purple shampoo. Will repurchase if on sale.
*The Round Labs sunscreen is done.

Experiment627 · 10/12/2023 08:48

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel you can get Kingfisher in H&B although they do not always have in their stores, so online. But I bulk bought mine (think I got 12 tubes in one go) and it does bring down the price a bit - I cannot remember where frombut likely will come up if you Google.
You can get on Amazon too.
I have used for years as I am not a fan of thr burn a hole in your mouth mint. This still provides freshness but in a gentler way.

Peridot1 · 10/12/2023 08:59

Some empties here

Votary Rose, geranium and apricot cleansing oil - liked it and it lasted ages. Have another in my stash.

AHA eye cream for face. Just used as an eye cream. Was ok but at my age I need more.

Paul Mitchell volume hair powder - quite old and I didn’t use it often so it took ages (years) to use up.

REN Evercalm cleansing cream - quite like this.

Nivea Soft - love this moisturiser. Love the smell as it reminds me of my Mum - she always used Nivea on her neck. I tend to buy when travelling.

Experiment627 · 10/12/2023 09:08

@MidnightMeltdown you have done so well this year!

I have now used the Stylevana haul about 6 weeks, I did like some of it - like the Heimish all clean balm - but am giving what is left to a friend and have started using something else and immediately my skin feels in better condition! Probably all in my head... I will give K-Beauty another try but sometime in the future when hopefully I make better choices.

Also am moving away from Redken volume injection shampoo and conditioner - loved the shampoo but actually get the same/better results from a way cheaper shampoo!

CurlyFerret · 10/12/2023 14:55

Another empty stash!

spacemasks.com interstellar relaxation self heating eye mask and quite nice - you can buy individuals so probably would have another
Emma Hardie Midas Touch Revitalising Cream I like this despite the strong fragrance and it’s a repeat buy
Barbara Sturm anti-aging body cream lovely and left my skin super soft but oh the price!
Caudalie Soleil des vignes shower gel bit pants really!
Bamford rose hand and body wash what a shocker - more akin to fairy liquid so I mixed it with some hand wash to use up
Malin & Goetz advanced renewal moisturiser despite its thin consistency this made my skin feel good so I’d consider a full size I think
Yves Rocher ultra-fresh radiance scrub nothing special so wouldn’t bother to RP
Malin & Goetz mojito lip balm not very effective on my wizened winter lips
Revive intense balm another pants lip balm - so hard to find a good one
REN ever calm gentle cleansing milk normally really like REN but this was a bit meh so wouldn’t RP
SpaceNK Voyage shower gel loved this and it lasted ages, was in last years AC. Went to repurchase to find they’ve stopped it and relaunched their own brand so have one of those to try instead
Plantur39 shampoo has transformed my hair so a big shout out to @Experiment627 for recommending - my follicles thank you
Olive oil for dry skin cheap as chips from Tesco I think - did the job
Le Petit Marseillais Saxon soin surgras soap - nice but not their best, this was a 2 pack
Clarins Eau Dynamisante have used this for years and still love it
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick love this and use all the time
Bare Minerals skin longevity have so many serums that I’m making an effort to use and whilst I liked it this and the one I’m on now seem to cause mini breakouts- is that usual? Are they too rich? Is that a thing? I’m clueless on the more complicated products 😂 or anything with hyaluronic stuff

I’ve totally lost the plot on my count with the thread move - so just going to say lots! And will make a point of writing my number down for next year 🤪

Thank you @Experiment627 😊

I bought the Stylevana advent calendar as an introduction to the brand, but I haven't started opening it yet. Will probably keep it until I hit my empties target!

I started a 6 month beauty buying ban on 1st December so hoping to reduce the stash a bit following an overindulgent advent calendar season 😳

MidnightMeltdown · 10/12/2023 21:30

@CurlyFerret

I really like that Malin & Goetz moisturiser and Space NK Voyage too

Buster27 · 11/12/2023 19:28

Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream - hadn't tried this before but really liked it. I wouldn't buy it because of the price, but happy that I know there's one in one of my advent calendars!

Escentric Molecules 01 + Patchouli - this sadly met a premature end when I knocked it off the counter and it smashed 😭 my bathroom now smells rather strongly of patchouli. Thankfully I wasn't in love with it, the patchouli scent was fine but that's all I could smell and nobody every commented on it so it clearly didn't make me smell irresistible.

100/104
