@Tarragon123 I think a lot of people like it but unfortunately my skin felt drier after use - not flaky though and no break outs. I'm glad it was in the advent colander and I didn't pay the full £140 or I'd have been a bit gutted

Experiment627 · 05/10/2024 16:45

@Fraaahnces ay bollackas... I chose the colour online and am probably way off. My order still has not arrived at my local Boots store - I have just sent in a complaint email. I got the Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint in Shade 2.... Hopefully it is ok when it finally does arrive. It looks lovely on my friend - she has a different shade than the one I got - but I am fairer.

According to the lovely woman in the store the shades of the drops and the sticks are wildly different. When I was looking the first thing she asked was whether I had the liquid foundation, and told me not to try and shade match.

Empties:

Inkey List oat cleansing balm - 150ml. Feels a bit grainy, tends to separate in the tube and doesn’t wash off cleanly. I still kind of love it though - gets make up off so easily and makes my skin feel really soft.

Skin 1004 Hyalu-cica Water-fit sun serum - 50ml. I think this is my favourite sunscreen I’ve tried so far. Really lovely texture and didn’t leave my skin greasy or shiny.

Eve Lom moisture cream - 8ml. Loved this. Used it as a night cream and my skin felt so soft in the morning. Would consider buying a full size if it wasn’t £90.

The Naked Bee coconut and honey body butter - 90ml. Really good lotion formula but I wasn’t keen on the scent.

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 71 body mist - 90ml. The gourmand scent to end all gourmand scents. I only ever wear it at bedtime - not sure what it says about me that I like to go to sleep smelling of freshly baked macadamia nut cookies!

L’Oreal Wonder Water - 200ml. I was influenced to get this by you lot on this thread! It worked well on my hair, made it silky without making it straggly or flat. Only used it once or twice a week. It’s so watery that I did find it a bit tricky to actually get onto my hair though.

ESPA bergamot and jasmine body wash - 200ml. Amazingly, this is the first time I’ve used this, considering it seems to appear in beauty boxes as regularly as the dreaded Philip Kingsley Elasticiser. Didn’t like the scent, too sharp.

Korres Mediterranean vanilla blossom shower gel - 250ml. Didn’t like the scent of this one much either, verging on sickly. It’s been a bad month for shower gel.

Dove coconut and almond hand cream - 75ml. Not particularly moisturising, but ok for this time of year.

I seem to be doing a pretty good job of getting some stuff used up at the moment, but I also ordered the JL beauty advent calendar this week, so all my good work has been undone!

I’ve had my eye on the Inkey List Cleansing Balm @CorneliaStreet….. Mostly because I love oats in skincare. (Can’t eat them though. I am not Goldilocks
*shudders - No offense to those who love them, I was force-fed them by my grandmother as a kid, and she had a special talent for making everything she cooked identical. Grey and lumpy.) It’s not “affordable” here compared to KBeauty ones unfortunately. I have just purchased the Curel one for my “Go Bag”. (Also in a tube, it travels well and it’s super gentle and effective.) Plus, in my last (giant) haul I received the Aprilskin Cleansing Balm which I have not yet used, but I did give it a sniff and OMG, delicious! It has carrot oil in it, and has a soft, “sorbet” texture. It’s supposedly super-effective for melting sunscreens and makeup without much rubbing, but I bet the citrus scent is the major selling point.
Re the TirTir Cushion @Experiment627… Yes, it’s amazing. Do you want to know what’s even better? Surprise of the year. I’m not sure the Influencers are onto this yet, btw… TirTir - Mask Fit Tone Up Essence SPF30 PA++ It comes in Lilac, Green and Beige and I am referring to the BEIGE one of course. If your skin is much deeper than mine I do not think that these are for you. (But, I wouldn’t put it past them to sort that out with some pressure btw… They did with the cushions.) I am beginning to sound like the biggest TirTir fan, and you know I am never going to be faithful to any single company… (have Medicube order planned - God how I want that device!!!) ANYHOW, I thought that their ceramic skin ampoule was what I needed to give me the major glass skin glow up (and yes, it is, but it’s a bit too rich now it’s hot and humid here.) This is also what I wanted to get from Glossier Futuredew but without any of the stickiness. Worn alone, it evens skin tone in such an invisible way and brightens it. I am sure if I used with the Ceramic Skin I would look like a moonbeam. It is a fabulous primer for the cushion as well!!!
Speaking of the Futuredew, I have been using it as a primer under the Fenty stick foundation and it’s going really well. I will use it until it’s gone, but probably won’t repurchase. It’s too sticky and too expensive here.

Experiment627 · 07/10/2024 12:52

@Fraaahnces thanks for this info. I still have not got my Fenty stuff 😭😭😭
What is a Medicube? 🧐

OP posts:
Fraaahnces · 07/10/2024 13:53

Medicube is the brand.
THIS is the Age R Booster Pro (aka The Doodad) If I win lotto, I’m ordering one.

Neal's yard face spritz - lovely, as soon as the central heating goes on I remember why these exist. I'd buy this again. I have a less lovely omorovicza one to get through first.

Kate Somerville moisturiser - love this brand, I'll probably buy a KS moisturiser when I've worked through the stash.

No full size moisturiser left to use but several mini's and a gallon of serum!

@Experiment627 - I love that sunscreen too. Holding off buying more yet as have a few to get through. I finished a Korres shower gel a while ago and wasn’t keen either - I found it very drying.

@Fraaahnces you mention so many brands I have never heard of! Off to investigate the device!

ITookYourJoob · 12/10/2024 10:14

some more stuff:

Redken all soft conditioner- fantastic product, works really well even though Blowout professor did not recommend it.

Brazilian love body scrub - got it from Boots because it was so cheap. Actually pretty good!

Bleach London resurrection mask - meh. Not sure why it’s so highly recommended.

Osmo deep moisture mask - also meh. No great results.

Grow gorgeous hair mist - smells lovely but drying on hair.

Ted Baker body mist - pleasant. Doesn’t last long which is good.

Alphah liquid gold reboot serum- it’s ok but I really disliked the smell.

Elizabeth Arden eye cream - nice! I do like the ceramide range in general.

w7 lip mask - this was recommended on Reddit as a better alternative for Laniege. I’ve tried both and it’s very good indeed, worth a try.

Glow Recipe eye cream - a bit too thin for my liking.

Arkive conditioner - I really liked it the first time but second time it didn’t work. Strange.

Body Shop Banana conditioner- really nice! Made my hair noticeably smoother.

Nivea face wash - I use it in shower for a bout 10 seconds so difficult to say if it works. But it doesn’t dry my skin so I’m going to use it again.

Soap and Glory hand cream - too rich and scented.

Some empties to report!
Beauty of joseon spf - another one bites the dust. A staple but will move on to my other fave skin1004 water fit spf
Skin1004 Madagascar centella ampoule - another staple. My skin loves centella and it's very soothing on my dry sensitive skin. Picked up this mini when travelling as I had left mine at home so will be fab to decant into. Already have full size ready to go
Molton brown shower gel neon amber - picked up loads of discounted minis to test out, I liked this but didn't love. Fave is still the coastal cypress
Sunday Riley autocorrect eye cream - got this in a beauty box and love it! Didnt think eye creams were worth it but this has an instant brightening effect. So expensive at £60 for full size so I bought some off Vinted for a bargain so I'm stocked up
Augustinus Bader the serum - ahh so annoying that I really liked this but it was only 7ml and only lasted a couple of days. Got in a beauty box. Wouldn't repurchase cos it's too pricey even on Vinted
Skin1004 Madagascar centella toner - love this but man it lasted FOREVER and I was bored of using it Grin look forward trying others waiting in the wings..

Some great work on your empties everyone!

Pic of some of mine - actually most of these I gave away as I didn’t like them. The cleanser was so harsh and the Inkey list moisturiser smelled horrid. The eye mask was good tho.

Have decided to enjoy products I love and bought SR Good Genes with a Liberty voucher.

Total empties or given away this year, 95

I have some empties:

Blue jasmine hand soap. Lovely smell. From Costco.

Baby massage oil. I just used it as a normal oil. Smells really nice like lavender. Spreads well. I have another one. They are supposed to be used on colicky children.

Dove hydrate body wash. Love the smell of this. It is nourishing and I have plenty to use.

Lacura bounce back mask. Supposed to be a dupe of something. I didn’t like it. Too much commitment to use it 20 min before I shower. Won’t rp. Smelt like chemical plastics.

eau de cologne with floral notes deliplus. It smells like the old mustela eau de cologne. I have plenty to use up. Would rp

OchonAgusOchonOh · 16/10/2024 14:58

I finished up a load of stuff and forgot to take a photo.

From memory:
My favourite body butter from Aldi that they have discontinued. It was my last one😪
No. 7 Day and night cream. Amazingly, I finished them both within a day or two of one another.
An Ambre Solaire over makeup spf. Love it when I'm in a rush as I don't have to wait for spf to dry before putting on makeup. You need to cover you hair though as it is a bit greasy if it hits the hair.
A spray moisturiser (can't remember the brand). Again, a bit greasy so I sprayed on to my hand and patted it on. Wouldn't rp. Which is just as well given I can't remember what it's called😁
Dumped two eyeliners as they had dried out.

I think there were a couple more things but I can't remember.

MotherWol · 18/10/2024 09:31

Rounded up all the half-used tubes of hand cream and made it my mission to finish them! Empties report:

Kiehl’s midnight recovery oil, I liked this, it was a nice dry oil with a nice fragrance. RRP is a bit high for what’s basically squalane though.

Mitchum deodorant- my favourite, have repurchased.

Living Proof No Frizz styling cream - this did a better job than the blow dry cream I was using before, I don’t know if it’s a holy grail product for me, but I like it enough to repurchase.

Daylesford rosemary hand cream- lovely fragrance, nicely moisturising.

M&S meditate hand cream - nice woody fragrance, non greasy.

Arket oak moss hand cream - another perfectly fine woody scent. All of them were nice and I would repurchase, if I didn’t have a huge stock of hand cream already!

Zadig & Voltaire This Is Her - nice, inoffensive vanilla skin scent, nothing special but likeable enough.

Off to Boots to recycle some empties today, so there will almost certainly be new things coming in…

@ItookYourJob that is wierd about that Arkive conditioner... I have not tried that one but I am trying out 3 products from that range - which I will report on in due course.

I have an empty to report:

  • Wild Jasmine & Mandarin Blossom in the carton: really like how this is completely recyclable and is a fab way to try out Wild without making the investment of the holder. Great size for travelling too. Not my fave scent but Wild really works for me (as opposed to Fussy which does not).

Some empties. Trying to clear out some sample sizes before advent calendar season.

Medik8 micellar mousse - 40ml. Handy for nights away but found it quite drying.

Biossance squalene & elderberry jelly cleanser - 40ml. Felt quite thin and stung my eyes if I tried to use it to take mascara off.

Some By Mi propolis toner - 30ml. This was lovely, quite thick for a toner and felt very nourishing on the skin. Smelled of honey.

I’m From mugwort essence - 30ml. Really like this, it feels nice and I never seem to get any breakouts when I’m using it.

By Wishtrend propolis energy boosting essence - 100ml. Had this on the go for months. It’s ok but has a slightly oily feel which I wasn’t keen on. Prefer the Cosrx propolis toner, or the Some By Mi one above.

Lush Beauty Sleep face & body mask - 60g. Dried my skin a bit when I tried it as a face mask and it wasn’t exfoliating enough to be a good body scrub. Did smell very nice.

Aurelia London cell repair night oil - 15ml. Also had this on the go for months. It’s too heavy for my skin really and I found the scent a bit overpowering (it did smell gorgeous though).

Laneige lip sleeping mask in Berry - 20g. These are a staple now, have several pots scattered around the house.

Bath & Body Works body lotion in Cactus Blossom - 236ml. Lovely scent and a bit more subtle than some other B&BW lotions.

77/100

Bader serum: I love it, genuine difference but I can't justify the price tag even for the £20 vinted samples.

Sturm body cream: lovely, feels good but so do many others for a lot less £.

Malin Goetz deodorant: I'll stick to Mitchum! It's fine for about the house but I need something a bit more robust.

Paradox hair mask: my hair looks no better than using a decent standard conditioner

Diptyque Do Son shower oil: gorgeous, I must have been feeling flush as it's expensive but it moisturised beautifully and doubled as a luxurious bath oil.

I have an empty:

  • Boots Everyday cucumber eye gel: I tried out loads from this range recently and was actually pleasantly surprised. The smell of this is very nostalgic to me. And really helped with puffy eyes - which I seem to be getting more and more.

I have a £5 Space NK Ndulge voucher thing... I will NOT but a £15 lip balm (which was shite compared to way cheaper balms I have used)... but I may put it towards a dry shampoo I have heard good things about...

Fraaahnces · 20/10/2024 19:49

I finished the TirTir Hydro Boost Enzyme Cleansing Balm. It was perfectly fine…. Did what it was supposed to do, but don’t they all? It had a lovely texture, but it was boring. I prefer a fabulously-scented oil or balm here because this is the only time in my routine I can indulge.
Also two mists… The old school version of the Laneige Skin Refiner Mist. Loved it. It was my first intro to milky toners. The new formulation has lovely packaging but is a major backwards step. Whatever were they thinking??? I kept the mister, though. The other product I finished was the COSRX Balancium Ceramide Comfort Mist. Lives up to its name. Old ducks like me who use Tretinoin looooove ceramides. This is a great product to apply under Tret to provide extra protection and in theory, improve its efficacy. I also spray liberally during winter if I feel bleh. Great to keep next to the bed for first thing in the morning. (Kept this bottle too.)
I haven’t swapped them out as I am working through the TirTir Milky Toner (be still my beating heart, this stuff is good!) and the I’m from Rice Toner - my skin loves rice it seems. They’re both plumping, soothing and moisturising AF. Now it’s warmer and humid (ugh!) I can wear this alone under makeup in the daytime, which is lucky - a conversation with a colleague at work about KBeauty turned into a big group chat. Seems we have a lot of fans in the office.

ITookYourJoob · 20/10/2024 20:01

@Experiment627 I was convinced that the Arkive conditioner was actually a shampoo - I think it changed texture half way😅 odd. I’m curious how you found it, I watch all your videos, so will wait for the review.
Btw did you receive Fenty foundation yet? Would like to hear your thoughts 😇

paristotokyo · 20/10/2024 21:24

@Fraaahnces thanks for your reviews! I've added the cosrx ceramide mist to my list of things to buy next 😍 I also love the I'm from rice toner, it's fab for my dry sensitive skin.

Experiment627 · 20/10/2024 21:52

@ITookYourJoob awh fanks for watching my videos 😘😘😘
Alas the Arkive dry shampoo is not cutting the mustard - but it will soon be an empty as I am determined to use it up!
The Fenty eaze drops thing shows up my pores... I think I need to try getting a pore covering primer on first and then it may work better?

Has anyone tried Wet n Wild ColorStay Photo Focus dewy foundation? Tati says it is good but I am not sure whether to believe her anymore after the Catrice disaster...
She does love the TirTir one too - which maybe should be my next port of call.
I want medium coverage and not exaccerbation of my perimenopausal skin!
